The Anatomy of a GPT-5.1 Prompt:

1. Role
Assign a clear identity for the model. Define who it should “be” while solving the task.

State the core outcome you expect. Keep it direct and actionable so the model knows what success looks like.

3. Scope
Outline what the model should focus on — and what it should avoid. Give boundaries that keep answers relevant.

4. Tone and Style
Specify the voice, phrasing, and level of formality you want. This ensures responses feel consistent and on-brand.

5. Structure
Explain how the answer should be organized. Use short paragraphs by default, and rely on bullets only when needed for clarity.

6. Autonomy and Reasoning
Tell GPT-5.1 to think through the task. Ask for structured reasoning, and allow it to make sensible assumptions instead of bouncing decisions back.

7. Tool Usage (Optional)
