RECENT OUTCOMES:

Built Leap, an open-source AI app that generates explainer videos from text using LangGraph + Manim; 2,000+ users, 85% success rate. askleap.ai

Prevented $1.85M/yr in fraud losses for a Series C fintech by deploying an XGBoost + Isolation Forest ensemble on AWS SageMaker (≈300 TPS, P95 <100ms, CI/CD, drift monitoring).

Cut RAG infra cost 80% (Pinecone → pgvector + HNSW) while improving recall to 84% via hybrid retrieval (BM25 + embeddings + cross-encoder); powering 30K+ daily queries.

Reduced preventable crashes 65% across 50 fleets at Idelic by refactoring risk models (AUROC 0.64 → 0.81), unlocking ~$3M in upsell revenue and saving $2.4M in injury costs.

Instant red flags to reject:

1) AI interviews. 
If you don’t have a human to talk to me for half hour, it’s game over, I’ll never work at a place like that. 

2) Take home before meeting the hiring manager.
Maybe if someone’s fresh with no experience. Otherwise don’t disrespect me. 
Happened recently, I explained, they didn’t get it, I didn’t proceed.

3) Leetcode. 
I don’t have a problem with live coding n I can usually clear those rounds. 
I have a problem with word for word leetcode.

It maybe a secret handshake at big tech, but you’re not Google, so stop filtering like one.
You’re also telling me you select candidates who memorize leetcode for months and don’t ship.
I ship. I don’t memorize. Wrong fit.

Beautiful answer.
A lot of my peers don’t have kids.
If you ask them why, most of them give me an answer that’s some mix of “career/ freedom/ travel/ finances”.

Do what you want with your own life, I am not one to judge, it’s just that I’ve met too many people who come to similar conclusions as Jimmy Carr did, in their late 30s or 40s.

They’ve been fed this illusion that becoming a VP at some corporate conglomerate will justify their existence, and that a family is only an obstacle to that pursuit.
Truly sad, that worldview.
And by the time they become that VP, it’s too late for some.
Not morally ofc, just biologically or circumstantially.

On Sundays, my daughter and I read physical books, and then I encourage her to write for 10 mins.
No screens or apps allowed.

She’s 6, she can write whatever comes to her mind.

She wants to be a bird researcher.
I know nothing about birds, so I got her all the bird books, bird crafting kits, and bird games.
We built a bird feeder in the garage and hung it outside her window where birds come to feed sometime.

Giving your child a childhood you never had, encouraging them to explore this world with a fresh set of eyes,
and breaking the generational curse of limiting exploration, constant yelling, and criticism, heals something deep within you.

If not for who you are today, do it for the child in you that you suppressed too early because you had to grow up too fast.
It’s the highest form of self love. 

I’m proud of her.
And I’m proud of you if you’re a good parent / decide to be one.
It won’t be easy, but the best things in life that are rewarding and meaningful, never are.
It’s still imperative that you pursue them.

I’d say my New Year’s resolution to tolerate crap on my feed is going pretty good.

Genuine, original, thoughts and stories of actual humans.. 
whether it’s a win or a loss or a lesson or an accomplishment.. 
that’s what I want to see and encourage and support.

Embarrassment is an underexplored emotion.

Feel that feeling of cringe, and still get out there and do it.

A man who dares being a fool is a formidable force.

Sum of all human knowledge seems like a teeny-tiny fraction of all there is to know about the world.

And any given human, no matter how smart, only knows a fraction of that human knowledge.

How can then some people have such little humility? Walking around like they know everything and know better.

Please note that I’m not talking about decisiveness. You often need to make decisions on incomplete data and knowledge, that’s the whole game.

I’m talking about this “superiority complex” sub culture. 
I’ve seen it on LinkedIn. I’m sure it exists on X too.

These people, if you read their comments n posts, 90% of the time they’re putting others and their methods down.

And it’s not even with the intention of teaching or feedback.. is it to stroke their own ego? I really don’t get it. 
It’s like who hurt them.. and how can they heal?
Mystery to me.

No shame, 2 of my fav material possessions from 2025 are:

1) this math-physics-nerd-max-ultra-pro coffee cup, a gift from Daniel House (thank you!)

2) a sterling engine toy that runs on steam from hot coffee 

The antidote to all the jira tickets, pointless meetings, and “let’s circle back”, is having toys on your desk you can appreciate daily.
