This is a man that knows a hell of a lot when it comes to leading himself and others, being a present father and looking after his own performance and wellbeing!

Ben runs two businesses. Has four kids aged 4 to 19 years old.

So two weeks to go today until the Manchester Men’s 300… 

Some people may say it’s crazy and others may say it’s needed more than ever

But regardless of that I think it’s important to acknowledge the reason why this all started

I have done a lot of inner work myself and I have coached/facilated a hell of a lot of people

I have also failed a lot, I have had too face a lot of hard truths,  and i’ve spent a lot of time processing who I am and what has brought me to where I am today. 

The truth is, my own personal work continues every single day and that ultimately allows me to see a lot of what is going on in others - especially Men. 

Recently, I have spent some time looking at the generational patterns that continue to rear their head for so many males who see themselves as a leader in their own right. 

I feel deep in my soul that something has to change for men and how we show up in the world. Not only for ourselves, but also for the important people around us.

I want to see men start to value themselves properly so they can ultimately value the people around them, and that requires a toolbox that gets to be understood and built

It comes from community - a real community that has real conversations not just the surface level ones that we continue to accept. 

A community that redefines what a relationship actually is, and a community where people can be heard but also proactively challenged at the same time. 

I write this as I reflect on two weeks to until a landmark day that I know is going to be life changing. 

and the best part… 

None of this is about me at all. 

I am simply the radio playing the music that gets to bring all of these very special people together.

I appreciate every single person that has been on the journey with me so far and I cannot wait to see the room full on Saturday Feb 7th

These were the words that rang true about men in today’s world from a recent conversation that me and Paul had, and I felt it was a no brainer to have this be shared at the MM300.

Sunday Evening Thoughts 💭 

What really stops a £5–10M business from growing?

It’s rarely the market.
It’s rarely the product.
It’s almost always something internal. 

1. The Founder
Many founders are trapped in an identity crisis.
Their self-worth rises and falls with the business performance which leaves them completely knackered. 
This results in reactive decisions, poor sleep, constant stress, and emotional volatility that quietly bleeds into their leadership and culture.

2. The Leadership Team
Leadership teams often carry unspoken bias misalignment, and old stories of the industry. 
Most of the time they’re responding to the founder’s lack of clarity — whether they admit it or not. 
So instead of operating as a cohesive unit, they function as individuals.
Poor habits and negative behaviour go unchallenged. Dysfunction becomes normalised.

3. The Strategy
Because of the above, the business never truly defines what growth means over the next 12–24 months.
There’s usually a rough idea — but no real alignment.
Key people operate at 50% capacity because they’re not connected to a clear long-term vision. Everything is reactive which means the pressure funnels straight back to the founder.

4. The Support
At this stage, businesses need high-quality, specific support but often they lack the clarity, capital, or humility to invest in it.
Some think they already know enough and that’s what creates the glass ceiling.

Most businesses at this level want to grow.
But growth requires the founder to be open to deep, sometimes pretty uncomfortable change - but that is the where is the magic is ✨
