The Mayor of Helsinki invited me for a drink.


Okay, not just me..

And technically, it was a sparkling juice.

Yesterday, I attended the annual citizenship celebration hosted by Mayor Daniel Sazonov at Helsinki City Hall.

I’ve been officially Finnish for just over a year - and being invited to this event felt genuinely warm and welcoming.

Finland has its problems.
Big problems.
It’s not perfect.
But it’s my new home. 

And here I am:

Building business.
Paying taxes.
Employing people.
Helping people.
Contributing as a citizen.

With all the noise, anger, and division online, don’t forget to notice the good. 

Even small actions matter when building a better future.

•	Training:  I played a key role in preparing work instructions and training new CS personnel.

As a small entrepreneur, my work at the company was versatile, covering all essential functions required for maintaining daily business operations .

•	Business management: I was responsible for planning, developing, controlling, and organizng business processes on daily basis. I played a key role in communicating with e.g. coffee suppliers and customers selling second-hand items at our shop. 

•	Promotional & marketing functions: My tasks included daily SMM support, running Facebook & Instagram ads, as well as paper marketing materials creation & distribution. 

•	Finances: I did accounting and taxes on monthly basis, keeping books and invoicing up-to-date. 

•	Barista function: I was preparing drinks & food daily, as well as serving customers at the counter. My duties also included maintaining safe and clean work environment in kitchen and selling area.

•	Employer: I offered a two-month position during the summer for a trainee. My role was to guide, teach and supervise during the traineeship.

SCA - Hygiene and Forest Products Company

SCA is a leading global hygiene and forest products company that develops and produces sustainable personal care, tissue and forest products. 

I was a part of a Marketing & Sales team, TENA brand. 

•	Management of marketing materials: I was responsible for preparing and closing agreements related to marketing materials production. I was organizing logistics and coordination of the POS (point of sales) materials from warehouse to e.g. pharmacists or regional sales agents, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the delivery. 

•	Marketing material production: One of my main tasks was designing marketing leaflets and other small advertising materials for sale campaigns. I was also responsible for communication with design agencies.  Additionally, I was gathering requirements from the organization (including informal survey) to produce package design for a new product. 

•	Sales support: I provided monthly reporting and sales data analysis, including summary for the sales organization. Sales data covered monthly and yearly sales of TENA brand products in all partner pharmacies in Russia.

EFI is an independent non-governmental organisation conducting European forest research.

The research project* was to produce a complete report on the state of forest science in
Russia and the Eastern European Partnership countries. The research was done based on information collected from different institutes, universities and governmental agencies, and included information related to e.g. selection of research topics and financing the research.

•	Research coordination: My role was to act as a research coordinator and analyst, which included e.g. collecting and processing the data. Data was both quantitative and qualitative.

•	Research analytics: I produced and wrote the research report**, including analytics from the raw data.

•	Workshop organization: In addition, I had a central role in preparing for a scientific workshop by ensuring high participation from
invitees and producing workshop materials.
