Rohan Kamath was born somewhere and then he grew up (or so they say). Along the way, he attended a fancy university where he learned about important things like student loans and insurance. He then worked for a couple of famous people named Jeff and Satya. He has been birding since he was 6 years old, but his favorite bird is still a mean Tandoori Chicken.

When he’s not writing about himself in the third person, Rohan spends most of his time outdoors hiking and birding in the Pacific Northwest with his wife Pk and his puppy Albus. Rumor has it that he builds Products at Stripe although he not-so-secretly wishes he was a chef so that he could forever feed the fat kid inside him who refuses to grow up.

He is extremely passionate about learning new things and obsessively and consistently reads books daily. He also writes on Quora where his work has been read a few times, and on LinkedIn, where people think he's bonkers. He thinks he’s sarcastic and hilarious. However, most people find him obnoxious and annoying.

• As part of the new Defender Experts team, building the next line of managed security solutions to secure the world further.
• Led the development of the DEX-E case creation pipeline and managed the phase-wise migration of over 3500 organizations, authored critical strategy documents, and developed dashboards for real-time tracking. This new feature helped increasing hunter capacity by over 50%
• Owned the design and development of the Jupyter notbook orchestrator to run notebook based determinations which helped in increasing Hunter efficiency by over 10x.
• Led the migration of our entire feature set for US Government entities, focusing on compatibility and resolving technical debts for improved services.
• Executed a strategic Kubernetes infrastructure overhaul, achieving a 30% reduction in COGS and decreased service utilization, thereby enhancing efficiency.

Software Engineer

• Spearheaded the development of space and time-efficient functionalities for enterprise clients by tailoring Microsoft Dynamics 365, utilizing .Net with X++/C#. Was nominated for Best Consultant across the division twice.
• Engineered a cross-platform mobile application using Cordova and JavaScript. This application was designed to streamline logistics for truckers, resulting in a 25% improvement in pickup and delivery times.

I am a seasoned Backend Software Engineer at Microsoft, currently contributing to the Defender Experts team. My focus is on enhancing backend systems by developing robust pipelines and sophisticated tools for data processing and threat analysis. These efforts are key in strengthening the security posture of our products and protecting customers against advanced cybersecurity threats.

Before my current role, I was part of the Windows Defender team, where I specialized in developing backend components for tamper protection features. My work was instrumental in improving the resilience of our antivirus solutions, safeguarding them against unauthorized alterations and security violations.
