Hi, I'm Rohan! I run Ionio — a strategic AI consultancy for Retail & Ecom SaaS. We help mid-market platforms ($5M-100M ARR) build AI features that reduce churn, justify premium pricing, and turn their product into something merchants can't live without.

I'm genuinely passionate about this space. Generative AI lets us do something that was never possible before: personalize every single customer interaction. Not segments. Not cohorts. Actual one-on-one conversations at scale. Retail and ecom is where that has the biggest impact.

I've been working in AI since 2016 — back when that meant computer vision, not ChatGPT. Smart cameras, facial recognition, number plate recognition. That foundation matters when you're building production systems that actually need to work.

Previously: From 18 to 20, Sr. Software Engineer at SmartCow (Deep Tech AI company in Malta). At 17, Python work for a Mumbai startup, who are YET to pay me. At 15, building websites and apps for family friends in Java. It's been over a decade.

I started Ionio as a college junior, from my parent's bedroom, while hiring someone to do my assignments & a chauffeur to take me to college. Now it's a little less grunge than that.

In another life: rapper, musician, and cinematographer. Now I just build AI for retail... :(

Last year, I helped a nine-figure retail brand evaluate data analytics platforms, they wanted to understand & visualize an frontend A/B test. 

Standard buying process—shortlist vendors, book demos, compare features. 

Here's what actually happened: I joined every call as their technical advisor. 

Not to hear the AE's pitch. To strip it down. 

To see what the product actually did versus what the marketing claimed it did. 

Got a list of 5-6 platforms from Chatgpt. Booked calls. 

Removed all their positioning, all their messaging, all their sales theater. Just laid the core products side by side.

In most sophisticated markets.

All the marketing gimmicks, all the positioning frameworks, all the clever messaging—they work exactly once. 

They get you shortlisted in the discovery phase. But when an enterprise buyer is actually deploying a $100K budget? 

None of that matters anymore.

It's 1925. Psychiatric hospitals are warehouses.
Patients aren't treated. They're stored.

One psychiatrist refused to accept it.

Karl Menninger saw something different.
He saw people who could heal.

Here's what he taught that we desperately need to remember:

1/ Hold Hope When Your Patient Can't
↳ Hope isn't a feeling. It's a clinical intervention.
↳ When someone feels hopeless, carry hope for them
↳ This isn't naive optimism. It's therapeutic duty.

2/ Stop Letting Labels Define People
↳ Diagnoses are for treatment planning. Nothing more.
↳ Labels blind us to the human struggling underneath
↳ "Abnormal" behavior is a response to abnormal circumstances

3/ Everything Is Treatment
↳ Every interaction matters, not just the 50-minute hour
↳ Menninger called it "milieu therapy"
↳ Every staff is a clinician, whether they know it or not
↳ The receptionist's tone matters. The parking lot matters.

4/ Recovery Is More Than Symptom Reduction
↳ His "Big Three": restore capacity for love, work, and play
↳ Are we measuring what actually matters?
↳ A quiet patient isn't necessarily a healed patient

5/ Relationship Beats Technique
↳ The quality of the therapeutic alliance predicts outcomes
↳ True respect often matters more than the intervention
↳ Connection is the treatment. Everything else is scaffolding.

Menninger made one more observation we've largely ignored:

"What's done to children, they will do to society."

He understood that healing individuals means healing systems.

That advocacy and clinical work aren't separate. They're the same mission.

A lesson I still need to learn is how not to burn through my days bouncing from one priority to the next.

I know I'm not alone in this. 
People grind on fifteen different goals. Drill down on dozens of projects. Then sit back confused when progress feels impossible. 🥴

High achievers do the opposite. They ruthlessly narrow their focus to one thing and pour all their energy there.

You can do anything, but you can't do everything.

In "The One Thing," Gary Keller argues that extraordinary results come from focusing intensely on one thing at a time. 🤓


Your problem isn't time management. It's priority management. Most people refuse to choose.

Look at where you're spreading yourself too thin:

💼 WORK: You can't do all the tasks, all the projects, and serve all the accounts. 

🏠 HOME: You can't do all the responsibilities, all the decisions, and do all the planning. 

🎯 YOU: You can't implement all the habits, attend all the events, and join all the programs. 

When you try to do everything, you scatter your energy so thin that nothing gets the concentrated force it needs.

A dozen half-finished projects don't add up to one breakthrough. They add up to zero. 😳


The real answer is ruthless focus.

STEP 1: AUDIT EVERYTHING
Write down every commitment on your plate. The stuff you're avoiding counts too.

STEP 2: APPLY THE FOCUSING QUESTION
Ask: "What's the one thing that would make the biggest difference right now?" That's your priority, everything else is noise.

STEP 3: PROTECT YOUR PRIORITY
Build your schedule around it. Cancel meetings, drop commitments, outsource tasks, batch errands, streamline habits. 

🌟 Decide what you want to achieve at work, what kind of home life you want to live, and what kind of person you want to become. 

🌟 Direct your focus to the thing that makes the biggest difference there. 

Without ruthless focus, your priority gets buried under your endless to-do list.


The question isn't whether you have the capacity to succeed. You do. 

The question is whether you're willing to direct that capacity toward one thing long enough to get the extraordinary results you desire. 🤩

Laws that give you an unfair advantage

I watch couples try to dim their partner's light because they're afraid of being outshined.

I see how couples get stuck and slowly drain each other's dreams.

↳ They dig deeper into old patterns
↳ Every conversation becomes a power struggle
↳ You both feel criticized and misunderstood

The breakthrough isn't in pushing harder.

Your negativity bias is creating a scarcity mindset in your marriage. 

Negativity bias is the human tendency to give greater weight to negative experiences than positive ones. 
This stems from evolutionary survival instincts, where our brain scans for threats. 

In modern life, it makes you remember criticism more vividly than praise and react more strongly to bad news.

⚠️ Your partner forgets to load the dishwasher and your brain translates it into "I'm not important to them." 

⚠️ They work late and it's proof they don't prioritize you. 

Each disappointment gets filed as evidence you're not loved enough, not seen, not heard. 

Your brain catalogs threats to your worthiness and belonging, building a case for why you should feel unsafe. 😳

I see this constantly in my sessions. Partners misinterpret intent, fixate on negatives, and miss repair and connection attempts.


Your constant focus on threats and what's missing convinces you there isn't enough love, attention, or connection to go around. 

You operate from lack instead of possibility:

🚫 SCARCITY MINDSET IN MARRIAGE
• Thinks there's limited love/attention to go around
• Stays stuck in the same perspective and conflict
• Competes for who's more tired, more right
• Keeps score vs investing in connection
• Obsesses over what your partner isn't doing
• Plays it safe, avoids vulnerability

Most couples I work with thought their differences were relationship death sentences.

But Jennifer Lawrence gets it. In a recent Business Insider article, she shared how she and her husband Cooke Maroney use compromise in scheduling to balance their opposite personalities - his structured nature, her free spirit. 💫

My husband and I live this daily as well.
It's most obvious in our eating habits:
• He eats the triangle of the slice, I eat the crust
• He eats the wontons in the soup, I drink the broth
• He cuts the fat off steaks, I eat the fat

We complement each other perfectly at meals. And in life.
How we manage our schedules. Use leisure time. Plan trips. Process emotions. Cope with stress.


Oppositeness rings true for so many couples.

⚡️ One partner is organized and structured.
The other is free-spirited and spontaneous.

⚡️One wants to discuss everything immediately.
The other needs time to process alone.

⚡️One craves freedom.
The other thrives on togetherness.

Most couples focus on the wrong things entirely when trying to build their successful relationship. 

I watch them pour energy into fixing symptoms. 
They focus on things they can see, like did they put their dish in the dishwasher or did they put the toilet seat down. 

They measure compliance on these little performative acts as a measure of commitment and love. 🤦‍♀️


People aren’t perfect. They have different bandwidths at different times and different ways of operating.

When couples focus on these small things, they’re using the wrong measuring stick and missing the forest for the trees. 

A successful relationship is not about performing all the right behaviors. Partners twisting themselves into pretzels to meet their partner's checklist. 📋

They burn out from trying so hard… and start believing the relationship won’t work.

They show up fully in imperfect moments so they can co-regulate and address frictions.

✅ Successful couples choose INVESTMENT
They show up even when it's hard, when they're tired, or when it's easier not to.

❌ Most couples choose CONTROL
✅ Successful couples choose COLLABORATION
They solve problems together, divide responsibilities with intention, and build a shared vision.


The couples who prioritize these five things are the couples that transcend the mundane. 

They connect and operate from a higher level. 
They stop the drama and exhaustion. 
They build a relationship strong enough to handle anything. ✨

And still feel empty.

↳ The cleared calendar gets filled right back up because you still can't say no
↳ The massage doesn't replace the meaningful conversations you keep postponing  
↳ The ski weekend doesn't address why you need to escape your life


The self-care menu looks good on paper. But it can't do the actual work.

YOU CAN:

Too much discipline fries your nervous system and blocks your growth.

Year 1 of solopreneurship: "I'll reconnect with friends once I'm successful."

Year 3: My decision-making was worse than when I started.

Not because I wasn't smart enough.

Because my vagus nerve had been starved for 1,095 days.

Here's what nobody tells you about building alone:

Your nervous system doesn't interpret isolation as "dedication."

It interprets it as danger.

The timeline looked like this:

𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭: Skipped hangouts to work on the business. Felt productive.
𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮: Friends stopped inviting me. "They understand I'm building something."
𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟯: Couldn't think clearly anymore. Simple decisions felt impossible.

What changed?

My vagal tone collapsed.

Your vagus nerve regulates through social connection.

When you isolate for too long:

Vagal tone decreases
Cortisol stays elevated
Decision-making quality deteriorates
Emotional regulation fails

The exact skills you need to build a business disappear when you cut off social connection.

This is why lone-wolf entrepreneurs burn out faster.

Not because they're not tough enough.

Because their biology is screaming for the one thing they're refusing: connection.

Here's what actually works:

▶️ One real conversation per week (not networking, actual friendship)
▶️ Regular human contact that has nothing to do with business
▶️ Protect social connections while building
▶️ Your nervous system needs social regulation like it needs sleep

Your isolation isn't dedication.

It's self-sabotage disguised as hustle.

The most successful solopreneurs aren't the most isolated.

They're the ones who protected their connections while building.

Saturday reminder: Call someone who knew you before you started the business.

Your nervous system will thank you.

And your decision-making will improve by Tuesday.

You've got love all wrong... 

Most people think love is about finding the right person or getting the right feeling. 

That's the small version of it. The conditional version that disappears the moment someone disappoints you.

Real love is the essence of who you are. It's a way of being. It's how you show up. 

It's not conditional and temporary. It doesn't go away when somebody disappoints or hurts you. 

Most people don't really get love. They're running on autopilot from three core beliefs that keep them stuck in love, and life. 💔


Everything shifts when you choose love instead.

PATTERNS KEEPING YOU STUCK AND THEIR ANTIDOTES:

1/ Lack Pattern [Flight Response]
→ Believing you're separate and not whole
→ Creates sadness, loneliness, hopelessness
→ Shows up as judging imperfection, obsessing over fairness

💖 Love Antidote: Recognize your wholeness right now. Stop waiting to be completed or taken care of by someone else. 


2/ Attachment Pattern [Fight Response]
→ Believing you need certainty, specific outcomes
→ Creates disappointment, resentment, anger
→ Shows up as demanding apologies, owning the other person

💖 Love Antidote: Recognize you already have all you desire. Stop making your connection dependent on others doing what you think they should do. 


3/ Control Pattern [Freeze Response]
→ Believing you have to make everything happen
→ Creates fear, stress, overwhelm, anxiety
→ Shows up as over-functioning, micromanaging, refusing help

💖 Love Antidote: Recognize you're already enough. Stop expecting support in a particular way. Have faith and trust that everything always works out. 


Every time you choose love, you're rewiring your nervous system and changing these patterns. 

When we stop using the little conditional ways of looking at love, we transcend what keeps us stuck, in pain and disappointment.

Love is not complicated. Love is our natural state of being. It means showing up with kindness for others… and for yourself.

➝ Make you capable and confident in what you do
➝ Cultivate it: Practice deliberately, get feedback, teach others

Nobody can strip these from you. 
Not a fight, not a bad boss, not a market downturn.

They compound over time. 
And they transfer across every role, every relationship, every chapter of your life.

It’s painful to watch someone ruin a good thing.

I see this all the time in my practice. 
Because of their own insecurities, partners have a hard time trusting others, including their partner. 

They become controlling, critical, demanding. 
They show up in very harsh ways. 

💔 They monitor and have something to say about every move their partner makes. 

💔 They become the boss of them. Telling them how they should think, feel and act. 

💔 They assign negative motives to their actions, taking things personally as if they were done against them on purpose. 


They feel taken for granted, alone and unsupported.

They push their partner to meet their needs, but in ways that strip away their partner’s independence, willingness, and even their spirit. 

Then they wonder why their partner is not showing up for them. 

And mind you, this is all done with the best of intentions. In the name of the family, the home, the relationship. 

They just can't understand why their partner is not as invested.


💡Meanwhile, their partner is invested. They do care. 

They just have a different mindset and approach to what it means to be in relationship and part of the family. 


The key is awareness. Understanding each other’s mindset, expectations, and desires. And showing up in a way that actually lands for their partner.

This way they both get what they desire. ✨

This is the week you decide your direction.

Notice the same stress responses.
~ Same defensiveness when your partner speaks up.
~ Same thinking that kept you safe but small.
~ Same shallow connections.

Rushing back in costs you. 
~ Your relationship stays surface level.
~ Your friendships stay transactional.
~ The patterns you outgrew last year become your default again.


🚨 Most people slide right back in:
Same desk, same stress, same patterns.
Six months from now they wonder why nothing changed.

So float for a minute.
Feel your way into this year instead of forcing it.
This is how you set up for real momentum.

Intentional momentum looks like this:
➝ Notice what felt aligned last year and what didn't.

➝ Trust that steady beats burned out by February.

The scariest place to be is the same place as last year.


Growth doesn't require grinding.
