What does it mean to truly break out of your shell and recharge?

Happy Friday (TGIF), and a break does not mean do nothing. I mean, unless you just have to sleep. To me, it means exploration, growth, and making someone smile!

It’s the separation that makes you more interesting and gives you that vital break to get back to your passions with renewed energy.

You know, I spend a lot of time immersed in systems work, helping B2B clients build their brands and driving their businesses forward. 

It’s incredibly rewarding. 

🙈 But beyond that, I absolutely love building software. 

I’ve had the chance to be involved in some fascinating projects, from the Coca-Cola website and a Harry Potter virtual world to numerous mobile apps, robust business systems, and of course, our own SaaS tool, SKOOP.

SKOOP is all about humanizing LinkedIn outreach. Focusing on personalized, high-touch communication that actually generates vetted, booked meetings with high-value clients. 

And speaking of stepping away and recharging, I also try to get in some exercise. 

And the act of doing it, of pushing myself, makes a huge difference.  

It’s like a mini-pattern interrupt for the mind and body.

Seeing this guy in the video with so much confidence can sometimes make you reflect on your own journey. 

We all have our quirks, right? I've got a bit of extra weight in the midsection and some rather short legs (which in my mind, reminds me of this guy in the video), which always brings a laugh. LOL. 


You are capable of so much more than you might believe.

I took 3 years off of making skits and humorous content because after explosive growth and making multi millions in my 20's, I felt overexposed and attacked.

Last summer I quit all substances for 90 days (yes, including caffeine), and literally FORCED myself to start making skits, reels, and humorous content again.

It's my joy. And what else?

It made me millions of dollars in my 20s, because I never would have gotten the same traction to my business or my brand without it.

If you're still tip-toeing around content creation by only posting things that are "safe" - chances are you have a really boring blog.

I get leads from people who resonate with me because I dare the express my full self. No matter how weird, raw, or even ugly at times my content might be... it's f*cking real.

My own week recently saw a decent number of profile views, post impressions, and people searching for me, and it all comes down to focusing on specific markets and having multiple touchpoints where they actually frequent. 🚀

Many think one channel is enough, but building a brand means meeting your audience where they are. That could be LinkedIn messages, InMail, online events, cold email, opt-in emails, newsletters, or from your valuable content.

I recently had a fantastic experience with Shay Rowbottom, a true LinkedIn influencer. 

We've had a few DMs over the years, and she reached out to review my profile, offering valuable content recommendations. 

⭐ She even sent a Loom video sharing her thoughts, which I really appreciated! 

I was shocked that she said my profile is better then 99% of all the people she works with. So that was a nice compliment. 

When I sent her a thank you message, I also shared a Skoop - Instant Video (that is from my own SaaS product), explaining how it could streamline her process since she was using Loom and I was looking for a brand ambassador or distribution partner. 

I figure this would potentially be a good low-cost product that actually works for her audience.

It's partially a numbers game, yes, but it's also about the quality of those numbers and the people you connect with.

When you are on a role you can get a lot done. Especially when you’re focused and surrounded by great people.

This past little while has been incredibly busy, and honestly, I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Big news on the product front! We’ve launched (available in a few days) a new version of SKOOP, our LinkedIn video sales and relationship tool. This has been a passion project, designed to genuinely help businesses connect.

 It's already showing incredible results for B2B professionals, performing 600% better than traditional LinkedIn text messages and emails alone. 

Plus, we've seen a surge in great leads for consulting and potential partnerships to help SKOOP grow even more. 🚀

★   Building Bridges: 
I’ve also focused on creating more accessible ways for people to connect with us. We’ve built a really cool opt-in email list sign-up to make it easier to share valuable resources and updates.

🥳 And as for this weekend? 
It's all about quality time with my daughter. She's a Lego master builder, and I suspect she gets that creative spark from her dad (that is me. I made her)! 😉

Know where your prospects frequent. It is not always LinkedIn. 🤷🏻

So start creating multiple yet proper channels of communication. You have to know who is where, how they move and communicate on those channels. 

There are so many brilliant business minds I connect with on LinkedIn, and yet, when it comes to truly engaging, we often forget where they actually hang out. 

Because it might not be LinkedIn. 

For example, if your Ideal Client Profile (ICP) is the CEO of a Fortune 1000 company, sending them a DM on LinkedIn is probably going to get lost in the shuffle. 👎🏼 So, where are these folks?


Let's break down where the real connections happen:

⭐ Online Channels:
LinkedIn, email, and other social media platforms are fantastic for initial reach and sharing value. It's where we build our initial presence and share our expertise.

⭐ In-Person Engagements:
Don't underestimate the power of physical presence! Networking events, industry conferences, and even casual social gatherings are goldmines for deeper connections. This is where you can really read the room and build genuine rapport.

⭐ The Ecosystem Approach:
Sometimes, you can't directly reach your target. Instead, you need to integrate into their existing circle or smaller projects to build trust and demonstrate value. It’s about playing the long game and showing them you understand their world.

⭐ Meeting Them Where They Are:
The core principle here is simple: you have to engage on the channels your ICP uses. If they’re not responding to LinkedIn messages, don't keep hammering that channel! Find out where they are and be there. This might mean attending specific industry events, subscribing to their favorite newsletters, or even engaging on platforms they frequent for personal interests.

Ultimately, it’s about being human-centric and persistent. Finding the right touchpoint can be the difference between a missed opportunity and a massive breakthrough. 🚀

7 Rules that should really dominate your week.

I'm wrapping up the week, and honestly, I'm that good kind of tired (you can see it in my face).  And if you think keeping motivated is what I do, well, you are sadly mistaken. 

Regardless of how I feel, stay in the game. And sure, I fall off the horse every once in a while, but I put effort into getting back up even when I am down. 

It is called showing up.  

So what does it really take to not just get through the week, but to absolutely OWN it?

⭐ 1. Luck is Earned: 
You don't just stumble into success. You get lucky by staying in the game long enough for luck to find you. Keep showing up, keep putting in the work, and that "lucky break" will be waiting.

💥 2. Unwavering Commitment: 
You can't beat someone who's already decided they will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes. That fierce determination is your superpower. If anyone can do it, it might just be YOU. 🤷🏻

🤔 3. Believe You Can Figure It Out: 
The single most important belief you need to win is in your ability to figure things out. Start, and you'll find the rest. Sometimes, you have to be the only one who believes in yourself. We're rewarded for that conviction.

🚀 4. Trades for Your Dreams: 
Everything we want in life is often just a few strategic "trades" away. The challenge? These trades are so deeply embedded in our belief system that we don't even see them as possibilities. It’s about questioning those ingrained beliefs.

✨ 5. Define Your Reality: 
What we truly believe, we never think to question. Sadness can often stem from a perceived lack of options, which means we have beliefs so ingrained we can't see reality without them. Dedicate time to defining your terms and words to see things more clearly.

⭐ 6. Learn from Winners: 
Always learn from anyone who gets what they want. Model their behavior, and more importantly, the weight they put on decision-making to predict outcomes.

✅ 7. The Power of "No": 
Sometimes, the best way to dominate your week is by saying "no" to distractions, to commitments that don't serve your goals, and to anything that pulls you away from what truly matters. Protect your energy and focus.
