Fact: My Alma Mater called the moment I walked out the door after my diploma examination. I've been teaching at "my" Department of Science of Communication since the dawn of the new millenium. And I'm extremely proud of it. (Our department constantly ranks in the Shanhai Top 10!)

Curricula change and adapt. I've always taught various facets of new media, from online journalism to scientific data analysis. Since 5 years I'm teaching the new, dedicated course "Social Media A" which is part of the SoC (Science of Communication) curriculum.

The course is comprised of theory and practical appliactions. Prof. Dr. Annie Waldherr teaches the theory part while I talk about marketing, GDPR and social media publishing. And of course LinkedIn, a great tool for students and researchers alike.

🟦 How do you learn video editing the hard way? Your first clip is an installation to be displayed in Austria's most popular museum. ⏩

We were young and bold.

And when I fired Premiere up for the first time, I had no idea what I was doing.

But I knew how to Google.

My 2-minute team presentation received more exposure at Kristallwelten-Museum than any of my "viral"  Youtube shorts. (And I still love that retro-b/w-look.)

But that was just one face of the metaphorical crystal. I was also resonsible for our online marketing activities. 💎

mp3 players were bulky, Apple hadn't invented the iPod yet.

The term "Podcast" was yet to be coined. If you wanted to get word out, you'd either have to sign with a hip hop label or work for a radio station.

We picked a national one and they played our tunes for years. (When i say tunes I mean interviews & features.)

As in: My colleagues from medianexus (Sandra Manhartseder and Peter Steinberger) and me recorded and produced a couple of features for Austrian radio station Ö1's media magazine "matrix".

And contrary to popular opinion: The internet does forget. But Ö1 is still standing strong. (I admit though that I always listen to FM4 in my car.)

🟦 Givemewings was a "social platform" conceptualized and built by Red Bull a couple of years before the term was coined but the site never went live. ⏩

I was responsible for the music channel, including managing the editorial content and establishing a download platform.

The site never went online.

(But for two years, I had daily access to free, unlimited supply of Red Bull. Haven't been able to ever touch a can since week two. Great content marketing, terrible refreshment, if you ask me.)

Grenzeloos Maastricht

Ik heb met de teamleiders individuele coach trajecten doorlopen om hen te helpen vanuit hun persoonlijke identiteit, potentie en behoeften te groeien in hun rol als leidinggevende. De samenstelling van het leiderschapsteam van Grenzeloos Maastricht is heel divers en door persoonlijke ontwikkeling is er na een kwartaal een nog sterker team ontstaan. Rode draad in ieder individueel traject was het doel van elke teamleider om vanuit rust meer verantwoordelijkheid bij trainees te durven neerleggen, om daarmee ook ruimte te creëren om nieuwe ideeën uit te werken.
Ik heb iedere teamleider tijdens en tussen elke sessie zien groeien. Op de werkvloer ontstond meer overzicht, meer plezier, en werden betere resultaten behaald.

Leiderschapscoach & organisatieadviseur a.i.

Vanwege zwangerschapsverlof coördineerde ik de circa 20 traineeships die werden uitgevoerd door deelnemers uit circa 10 verschillende landen. Samen met het leiderschapsteam ondersteunde ik de trainees bij het leren van Nederlands, het ontwikkelen van (vak)vaardigheden, en allerhande vragenstukken over de Nederlandse maatschappij.
Hierin had ik veelvuldig contact met partnerorganisaties als COA, Vluchtelingenwerk, gemeente Maastricht, alsmede de vele vrijwilligers die voor Grenzeloos Maastricht actief waren. 
Mede door mijn eigen onderzoek in de maanden ervoor hebben we organisatie breed diverse verbeteringen doorgevoerd in de traineeships en de rol van coördinator. Zo ontstond er meer ruimte voor zelfstandigheid bij de trainee, konden de teamleiders betere ondersteuning bieden, en kon de coördinator meer tijd en energie steken in externe partijen die wilden bijdragen. Coördinator traineeships a.i. 

Als zelfstandig adviseur onderzocht ik de samenhang en diversiteit binnen het team van Grenzeloos Maastricht. Door samenhang te versterken en diversiteit te benutten bracht ik (meer) structuur aan in de traineeships die een groot deel van de medewerkers volgen.
Hierdoor verminderden verzuim en verloop, en namen het werkplezier en de medewerkerstevredenheid significant toe.

Webhelp Nederland

Samen met andere teammanagers bouwden we aan klantteam VGZ.
We namen medewerkers aan en ondersteunden hen in hun persoonlijke ontwikkeling.
Ik gaf direct leiding aan gemiddeld 35 en indirect aan circa 200 medewerkers.
Persoonlijk coachte en trainde ik medewerkers in de vaardigheden die onmisbaar zijn als klantadviseur. 
Mijn dagelijkse uitgangspunt was om iedere medewerker zo te ondersteunen dat diegene goed en met plezier kon werken!
Ik heb voor het hele klantteam het coachproces ontwikkeld en vormgegeven. Hierbij waren individuele en peer-to-peer coaching succesvolle methoden. Deze methoden hebben geleid tot een verhoging van de klanttevredenheid en afname van gesprekstijd. Daarbij vervoerden medewerkers deze aanpak als erg prettig door het persoonlijk contact met elkaar.
Als managementteam stemden we het beleid af op de dynamische wensen van de klant, organisatie en branche; iedere manager beheerde vanuit eigen expertise een of meerdere onderdelen van het klantteam. Ik was verantwoordelijk voor (beleid en activiteiten) rondom welzijn en tevredenheid van medewerkers. Hierin kwam Webhelps motto "Think human" duidelijk tot uiting.

Coöperatie VGZ

Ik hielp telefonisch verzekerden van VGZ bij hun vragen over hun zorgverzekering. Deze vragen gingen hoofdzakelijk over hun gezondheid en financiën. Met een hoge klantgerichtheid, oog voor de organisatie, en sterk doorzettingsvermogen wist ik ook de meest lastige cases op te lossen. Binnen het team waarin ik werkzaam was, hield ik me bezig met de klanttevredenheidsonderzoeken. Deze resultaten verwerkte ik in concrete presentaties waarin we als team wekelijks successen vierden en verbeterplannen opstelden.
