Fact: My Alma Mater called the moment I walked out the door after my diploma examination. I've been teaching at "my" Department of Science of Communication since the dawn of the new millenium. And I'm extremely proud of it. (Our department constantly ranks in the Shanhai Top 10!)

Curricula change and adapt. I've always taught various facets of new media, from online journalism to scientific data analysis. Since 5 years I'm teaching the new, dedicated course "Social Media A" which is part of the SoC (Science of Communication) curriculum.

The course is comprised of theory and practical appliactions. Prof. Dr. Annie Waldherr teaches the theory part while I talk about marketing, GDPR and social media publishing. And of course LinkedIn, a great tool for students and researchers alike.

🟦 How do you learn video editing the hard way? Your first clip is an installation to be displayed in Austria's most popular museum. ⏩

We were young and bold.

And when I fired Premiere up for the first time, I had no idea what I was doing.

But I knew how to Google.

My 2-minute team presentation received more exposure at Kristallwelten-Museum than any of my "viral"  Youtube shorts. (And I still love that retro-b/w-look.)

But that was just one face of the metaphorical crystal. I was also resonsible for our online marketing activities. 💎

mp3 players were bulky, Apple hadn't invented the iPod yet.

The term "Podcast" was yet to be coined. If you wanted to get word out, you'd either have to sign with a hip hop label or work for a radio station.

We picked a national one and they played our tunes for years. (When i say tunes I mean interviews & features.)

As in: My colleagues from medianexus (Sandra Manhartseder and Peter Steinberger) and me recorded and produced a couple of features for Austrian radio station Ö1's media magazine "matrix".

And contrary to popular opinion: The internet does forget. But Ö1 is still standing strong. (I admit though that I always listen to FM4 in my car.)

🟦 Givemewings was a "social platform" conceptualized and built by Red Bull a couple of years before the term was coined but the site never went live. ⏩

I was responsible for the music channel, including managing the editorial content and establishing a download platform.

The site never went online.

(But for two years, I had daily access to free, unlimited supply of Red Bull. Haven't been able to ever touch a can since week two. Great content marketing, terrible refreshment, if you ask me.)

With over 20 years of experience in communication, PR, and change management, I've always sought what helps organizations stay ahead. That's why I'm now diving into AI, because I see it fundamentally changing the future of organizational development.

MY BACKGROUND
I have successfully developed communication, PR, and change strategies for organizations such as the Municipality of Amsterdam, KLM, Goose VPN, Boon Edam, Nedap, and Bolt. I also served as communications coordinator and spokesperson for Buma/Stemra.

MY FOCUS: HUMAN-CENTERED AI IMPLEMENTATION
Many AI initiatives fail, not because of technology, but due to a lack of clear communication, strategy, buy-in, and guidance. That's why I'm currently pursuing a post-graduate program at Beeckestijn Business School, specializing in human-centered AI Strategy and implementation. I will graduate in February 2026.

I'm developing an approach that helps organizations successfully implement AI: from awareness and strategy, through training and adoption, to sustainable integration. With a focus on what I do best: maintaining oversight, creating buy-in, guiding teams, and bridging the gap between people and AI.
