The primary objective of the Department of Medicine Statistics Core (DOMStat) is to provide study design and statistical analysis collaboration to investigators in the Department of Medicine. DOMStat offers faculty and staff level statistical collaboration for grant proposals, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and other research activities requiring statistical input.

The Center improves the public’s health through high-quality, objective, and evidence-based research and data that informs effective policymaking. We advance this mission through policy analysis, policy-relevant research, public service, community partnership, media relations, and education. 

Developed, refactored, and debugged various policy modules and functions in Python (NumPy and Pandas) for CalSIM 2.0, a micro-simulation model on insurance markets that can be used to estimate the impact of various elements of the Affordable Care Act. The main objective of the CalSIM model is to understand and quantify the decisions of California individuals, households, and employers in response to ACA and California health policy. CalSIM draws on the health economics, labor economics, statistics, and decision theory literatures to forecast health insurance coverage and contribute to the progress and implementation of health policy reform in California.

I currently lead the clinical intelligence and research team at Foodsmart, a Series D telenutrition foodcare startup with clinical program evaluation, study design, product engagement analytics, matched-paired claims/ROI analyses, clinical decision support, and clinical/nutrition product development. 

Previously, I was a financial strategy and special projects analyst at DaVita, a leading provider of kidney care, where I helped executives make enterprise-level decisions through data analytics. I am also a proud alumnus from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and from Harvard Chan School of Public Health with a Master's degree in Health Data Science.

I’m passionate about access to care, addressing social determinants of health, health equity, and chronic disease management and prevention to improve health outcomes, quality of life, and prevent acute illnesses and hospitalizations.
