Sponsorship: We’re asked about this frequently, so I wanted to share some clarity upfront to help candidates understand the position before applying,  saving time and avoiding disappointment later.😁 

If you’re considering applying for a role with the Home Office, here’s a helpful heads‑up on visa sponsorship: our roles unfortunately cannot be supported by Skilled Worker / Tier 2 sponsorship because we do not hold a UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker sponsor licence.

As a department that assesses and approves sponsorship applications for other employers, acting as a sponsor ourselves would create a conflict of interest, in short, it would be like “marking our own homework.” So, to apply, you’ll need to already have an immigration status that gives you the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
