These 3 job stats are a worry: 72%, 51%, 44%
Because they show something serious going on:

The numbers are for 2023, 2024 and 2025 in terms of the % of candidates with multiple job offers in their most recent job search*

That's trending dramatically down.

What does this mean?

This:
If you are less likely to have options, then you need to change something. 

Especially as the employment market will only get more competitive.

So what to do?

Focus on you, more. Here's how:

Look, sending out a résumé and patiently waiting in line is asking for trouble.

Instead, proactivity is the solution.

So:
1. Share your opinions on LinkedIn
↳ You'll be asked them in an interview anyway. 
But now your answer reaches many.

2. Network up
↳ Connect with those that might hire/influence hiring decisions. 
But be human: conversation > a pitch for a job

3. Show up, just not in queues
↳ Waiting in line for an interview screams average. 
Instead, go to events to network. Even attend events here on LinkedIn. 

Having the inside edge like this is how you get noticed
And importantly, it starts useful conversations.
Those that hire love to see initiative. 

What else? 
Work on your communication:
- Persuasion, influence and articulation all matter. 
- Because when you work hard to get your foot in the door, you don't want to throw that opportunity because you didn't train how you'd show up.

How else can a job seeker be proactive?

Bad advice can often sound good
So we think it's right. Here's an example:

Write content for 1 person
Talk about the 1 problem
Give them 1 solution

Part of this misses the mark.

And it's that middle line.

"Talk about the 1 problem"

You see, when you truly understand buyer behaviour, you realise something about "problems":
• You know what they are
• They usually don't

Typically, people don't fully know their problems
and they certainly haven't labelled them

For example:
- Business owners don't know their website's issue is its UX
- A patient with a cough won't know they have bronchitis
- CEOs don't think their problem is their personal brand

Problems require awareness

So you can see that speaking about problems often misses the mark.

You get it
Your peers get it
...and your engagement wrongly suggests your audience gets it

But the right people need it to relate more to what they're feeling now.

How do we fix this?

Instead of talking about the problem itself,
Speak to the symptoms of the problem:

Suddenly, the right people can relate to them
Because they're consciously living them
They're totally frustrated by them
They're fed up with them

It's a tiny nuance, but makes a massive difference

So,

Write content for 1 person
Focus on their symptoms 
Give them 1 next step

Let's stop pretending the month is over.

It’s not.

And yet some are already winding down, half-writing off the last few days like they don’t count.

Let me remind you:
↳ Revenue doesn’t care what the calendar says
↳ Targets don’t adjust themselves because you “feel done”
↳ And prospects don’t progress themselves while you blow across your coffee and coast into December

We’ve got 4 working days. 

That’s not “wrap-up” time
It's close time

↳ The pros know it
↳ The high performers I know always have this attitude
↳ That top 1% are circling their opportunities

Meanwhile, others are forecasting
Because they're finished.

So ask yourself:
Are you done? 
Or are you hitting the end of the month?

Easing in vs finishing strong:
It's always interesting to see how people respond, this time of the year

You are an asset.

This mindset shift altered two things for me:
- The view of myself 
- My career in sales

Here's how you possibly see yourself right now:

You see yourself as a source of frustration to prospects
You feel their time is worth more than yours
You're concerned you're intruding

Instead, start viewing yourself as an asset and the solution to their problems.

If a potential prospect needs support, then you are providing it!

This is valuable and needed.

From that reframe, you're not an irritation nor imposing on them.

Only by recognizing how much you can contribute in solving problems will you start approaching your sales as the helpful advisor rather than a begging, needy salesperson.

So, show them you're the expert equipped to answer any question they might have. 

But the big thing is to also show up as someone proud to be able to assist them.

Your skills and expertise are what set you apart and make you an asset - so now it’s time to own it.

Be honest: how do you view it?

"This might not work"

Are you willing to say that?

According to Seth Godin, this is precisely what a leader should be willing to say to their team. 

Managers follow rules
They execute the plan
They deliver the thing 

But to volunteer. To say "I'll try this";
That is leadership.

So, 
↳ If you're doing the same as your peers
↳ If you're playing safe to only take part
↳ If you're letting others be the outliers

Then you're in the riskiest business of all.

Instead, we should be "dancing with the future".
Because it might just work.

But it's also the device to start conversations. 

For many, the end goal is views and likes.
But I personally feel that's missing the point.

What matters is the interactions we have
The depth of the conversations
And taking them further.

And I believe unless we're doing this,
We've lost sight of the community component.

Obsessed over Call of Duty from 14 to 19.
Made it as a professional gamer.

• Going on your phone as soon as you wake up.
• Starting your day without a plan.
• Eating food that makes you feel like sh*t.
• Delaying hard tasks.
• Doom scrolling after a day of hard graft.
• Spending time with people who think small.
• Having all phone notifications on.
• Using socials to consume, rather than create.
  
Keep these 11 sh*t habits if you want to stay stagnant.

12 things that held me back from scaling The Uncommon:
 1. Wanting to do everything myself.
 2. Caring what other people think.
 3. Being a “yes man”.
 4. Being controlled by my phone.
 5. Not increasing my prices sooner.
 6. Imposter Syndrome.
 7. Not tracking the numbers that matter.
 8. Being a perfectionist.
 9. Delegating only at point of drowning.
10. Treating “busy” as being productive.
11. Delaying conflict/hard conversations.
12. Thinking “brand” doesn’t matter.

Brick by brick, I have worked on removing all of these.

Sometimes they still creep in… but if you want to make serious progress by the end of the year:

→ Work on removing as many as possible.

What was the moment when this happened in your life?
 
There were 3 different moments like this for me:
 
1. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆.
 
Copywriting, Paid ADs, Sales…
 
Whatever it is:
 
• Become an expert at it
• Offer it to people for free
• Make people a sh*t ton of money
• Price based on a fair % of how much you make others.
 
And watch your whole life change.
 
2. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.
 
Think bigger.
Nothing is unrealistic.
Someone created an aeroplane.
Elon Musk puts rockets in space.
Amazon did $638 billion in revenue last year.
ANYTHING is literally possible.
 
3. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱, “𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙤𝙬𝙣.”
 
So many things in business were striking fear at this time.
 
• Leads drying up.
• Sales numbers down.
• Clients churning.
• Buying out my business partner.
• Letting team members go.
 
And when he said this, everything changed in my state.
 
The plane will land.
We will be fine.
Worry less.
We will come out the other side stronger.

The harsh reality of life as a young business owner:

No lead gen strategy, sales framework or new knowledge will help you if your headspace is compromised.

1. Unmade decisions.
2. Personal life challenges.
3. Business challenges.

Like a thief in the night… 
They steal time and growth from you every day.

The longer you delay the decisions.

The longer you delay solving the challenges.

The longer you delay being at peace with sh*t you cannot control.

The more your goals are affected.

Make the decision.
Solve the challenge.
Surrender to what you can’t control.

And move your business and life forward.

We took Andrew Graham from £2.2k to £25k in just 3 months.

Here are the first 3 things we did: (That you can copy)

1. 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆.

No new lead gen strategy.
No secret sauce.
No extra energy/thought required.

We just 4x'd the number of inputs he was already doing to generate leads.

Which for Andrew was going to events where his ICP was hanging out.

He was doing 1 a fortnight.

I asked could we do 4 a fortnight?

He said f*ck yeah and booked them in....

And the number of sales calls per event stayed consistent.
(3 an event)

2. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝟮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.

No more 1 call closes.
No more proposals sent over email.
No more lack of visuals.

A sales process that truly works for his offer.
(Which is system builds)

Andrew was getting a lot of yes's on sales calls.

But payments falling through/becoming delayed with this "send over email" proposal process.

We removed that...

Brought in a process where we booked in a second call on the first call to run through the proposal with them live.

And conversion rates went through the roof.

3. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹.

Went from just a monthly recurring model.

To a cash collected + MRR model.

The best of both worlds.

We took Ally Galloway from NEVER COACHED before…

To fully booked in just 4 weeks.

Here are the 6 steps we took to get him there:

1. 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿. 
   (for the first 2 people who signed up)
We stripped the ego and past credentials.
Embodied the fact Ally hadn’t done coaching before.
And used a founding offer to get a couple in the door.
So we can start getting results ASAP.

2. 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘃𝗶𝗮 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱.
Crafted the message.
Done multiple drafts.
Rolled it out.
Partnered it with some good content/free sauce.

3. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 & 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱.
We installed a 1 call close for those who knew Ally already.
We also installed a 2 call close for those more skeptical.
Ally followed this to a T.

4. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟯 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.
This is a framework we developed off the back of 4 different mentors.
That we help all clients we work with implement.
The impact it has on close rates is something we have never saw before.
(Genuinely life-changing stuff)

5. 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 “𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘆” 𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀.
From client signed > end of the first 4 weeks coaching.
No stone unturned - every step clear as day mapped out.

6. 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀.
These are the weekly inputs he needs to tick off weekly.
This ensures nothing is missed…
And clients are ALWAYS moving forward.

By the time we had finished step 6, Ally was fully booked for 1-2-1 coaching.

And we are now mapping out next steps for expansion beyond 1-2-1. (More to come on this soon)
