I am an undefinable.

And I've lived beyond conventional labels for as long as I can remember. 

Titles like Social Entrepreneur, Endurance Athlete and Community Builder have shaped me, but none have ever told the full story. I've worn many hats, followed many threads, and often struggled to find a space where the whole of me could belong.

So I started designing one.

Over the past few years I've:

• Competed semi-professionally in endurance sports by getting sponsored and representing GB.
• Built the undefinable community, a 40+ person non-profit for those in the Age of Discovery (22-35).
• Written and refined the 3rd draft of my book on undefinable life design based on 70+ early readers. 

Along the way, I've learnt that life design isn't about rejecting structure. It's about creating your own.

This is why I founded undefinable life design. As a way to help individuals who live beyond conventional labels to design a life for their uniqueness. And for organisations to enable them to do so.

The team absolutely smashed it. They one upped last year with the incredible venue, speakers and topics.

Helping undefinables design their life for uniqueness

When I was 17, one of my teachers questioned my choice of university in front of the entire class.

They were angry. I'd just turned down "prestigious" Russell Group offers to make Loughborough University my only choice.

I had to justify myself. I told them: "I'm not going to university for the degree. I'm going for the broader education. To join societies, do sports and meet incredible people. I know that will equip me with the entrepreneurial skills to start a business (my dream at the time)".

I didn't have the words for it then, but I was rejecting the default path of specialisation entrenched since the Industrial Revolution. 

This world my teacher valued was one that sought stamps and prestige, only to end up as a cog in the machine. 

My instincts were telling me to prepare for a different world.

Today, I call that world the Age of the undefinable, which rewards synthesisers and polymaths who connect disparate ideas.

That prestigious path wasn't wrong.
It was just built for a world that's eroding.

Now, 10 years later, I'm on business no.3, have built a truly epic community, am finalising my first book and have a career that is 100% undefinable. I'm damn clear on how I uniquely add value, precisely because I chose the broader education over the narrow, default path.

It's wild to think that my 17-year-old's 'mistake' is the foundation of everything I've built.

My book's manuscript is DONE! 🥳

Today is a great day. In fact, it hardly feels real.

18 months after starting and 4 major versions later, I have 36,000 words that I am deeply proud of. What I've created perfectly articulates how to design a unique life that sustains your energy and income. It's my perspective on paper. And it stands as the book only I could create.

I now have a coherent metaphor for the entire book (more on this soon). The stories are relevant, diverse and engaging. And the frameworks have been practically lived by myself, my clients and other undefinables I've met.

I think this is the best thing I've ever created. 

Actually, I know it is. The 110+ early readers who offered their feedback, criticism and support has transformed my initial collection of ideas into the polished manuscript that I know absolutely resonates.

I can't wait to put it in your hands.

Now to put aside my Writer hat and put on my Publisher hat. It's time to add in the final imagery, lock-in the cover design and turn my Google Doc into a physical book you can actually hold, touch and feel.

Exciting times! Let's goooooo.

Recently, I've been trying to live and not just exist.

When life gets busy, my default is to get grinding. I like to lock-in and keep the main thing in my sights until I can come up for air (Christmas this time!).

But, I realised I was ignoring the best part about life:

Actually living.

So, I intentionally set out to add some unnecessary 'distractions' that have nothing to do with being my most productive self.

1) I joined an improv programme. Which is turns out is basically 6 weeks of playing kids games with adults. As a group of complete strangers it's hilarious. We laugh. We play. We have fun. And we grab a pint after.

2) I bought a 400 minute Lime bike pass. It's so much better than the loud overcrowded tube. And I now get to play "What's in my basket?". So far I've found a still-warm burrito, an unopened Rummikub, and some leftover takeaway. I'll let you know when I find the lottery ticket.

3) I hosted a smoothies and spontaneity meet-up for the undefinable community. We grabbed a drink in Elephant & Castle, ventured into a flea market (where I got a new coat!) and explored an arts museum. All on one warm Autumnal afternoon.

A month later, here's what I've learnt:

These 'unnecessary' activities aren't a distraction. They're what give me the energy to keep showing up with a smile on my face.

They aren't draining me. They're energising me.

Long story short: I'm a Marketing Strategist and Content Producer devoted to trust building.  
Long story long:
After my father's passing at age 13 I knew I needed to start covering some of my own expenses. I pitched party tents at 13, stocked a deli at 14, and caddied the greens at 15. Shortly before my 16th birthday I became the first hire at a new Thai restaurant. This kicked off an 8 year career in the service industry, where I excelled as the highest-earning server and bartender at every restaurant I worked in. This sales and marketing experience made Marist's marketing program a simple decision to make, and I continued my service career throughout COVID.

During this time I simultaneously grew an interest in video production. As a tech-savvy 13 year old in reading class I was NOT interesting in writing essays, and was given the option to create a video report instead. This project kicked off a school career full of videos of all kinds, from movie trailers to news shows to puppets on green screen. As I continued into college I was hyper-aware of the impact of video in the marketing world, and committed to a minor in video production.

I worked hard throughout my college career, which was ended half a semester early by COVID. This led me back to bartending, giving me the opportunity to capture photos of food and drinks, as well as all the new COVID dogs that were being brought to our outdoor dining. Complimentary dog photos led to paid car photos, weddings, and my first business projects.

In September of 2021 I dedicated myself to providing marketing material that does more than just shows the obvious. I found out the BEST way to differentiate yourself is to build trust and saw that many do this through face to face networking, but lack the capability of connecting with others online. I found ways to help my clients build trust with strangers to grow their businesses the right way.

In summer of 2023 I met with the partners of AB Marketing and found that we have quite a few similarities, values offerings, and experiences as business owners. After much conversation I received an offer to acquire my clients, and myself as a business development executive. Now I get to focus entirely on my client's marketing needs and growth goals, as well as spend time making new friends. This came at the same time I moved into a new home and married my wife, Katee, and I am so looking forward to this next chapter.

My office the other day… interviewing celebs for Netflix’s social media! They handed me these tickets after the activation 😵 

I’m sure we all have perks of the job, and this night was pretty perky. 

I got to chat with an all time favorite musician, athletes, and other celebs - and they actually wanted to talk to me so they can get some publicity 😆 

I could feel actual power saying “Hey I’m with Netflix social can I grab you for a minute” to Gabriel Iglesias and having him ignore EVERYTHING else in a hectic moment.

What an experience (and I did a good job not gonna lie). 

Looking forward to more experience like this with my guy Leo Justiniano!

“Just send me the raw footage” is such a funny thing to hear for videographers. 
Here’s why 👇

	1.	Their computer likely can’t open the files.

New cameras are capturing formats like .mxf more and more. They’re super high quality, super heavy, and unless you have pro editing software they literally won’t open.

I love QuickTime too, but it won’t cut it.

	2.	They don’t have the storage or the RAM.

The whole reason I’m writing this is because I’m casually moving 87.85 GB of footage for a few seconds of b-roll.

Industry standard SD cards are crazy fast (and crazy expensive), and you need high speed drives and cables just to make transfers go smoothly.

I started typing this post when the transfer began and it’s done already. 

And working with huge files means sitting on terabytes of extra storage. 

See: the some $2k worth of hard drives and SD cards stacked on my desk 😭 

I also just invested in a newer, bigger server setup to store everything and make my team’s workflow easier.

And for RAM… even just watching high quality footage puts pressure on my Mac w/ 32gb. Unless you’re a serious gamer or you just buy 3k dollar laptops for fun, modern footage will stutter and lag like crazy.

	3.	They don’t use LOG color formats.

Most of what we capture is in a LOG color space. If you upload that to your computer it’s going to look grey, flat, and washed out.

Without the right LUTs or the ability to color a scene properly, you’ll feel like you’ve gone back a few decades in video quality.

And we take a lot of pride in our LUTs by the way.

So next time you ask for raw footage, just make sure you’re ready for what that means!

I shared this video with 600+ people at Servant's Heart Ministry’s Year End Celebration. Many 3 am nights paid off big. 

Throwing videos up on the internet can be satisfying in some ways, but showcasing stories at events is a whole other level.

I’ll share the other videos next week - this one was a favorite of mine though. 

From the interview setups, to the edit, and the story that shares why these people use their free time to serve in any capacity they can - I’m proud of this one. 

This one was the motivational one, but I heard the next one I shared brought out some tears as you hear how our work changes lives.

I heard we did pretty good on fundraising and I hope this was a piece of encouragement to those donors - but also an encouragement to those wondering how volunteering can impact their lives.

What happens when you don't do LinkedIn like an a$$hole? You get replies! Especially when you have a presence that feels like meeting you in person.

This successful commercial roofing client has a simple goal - clone himself.

It's not actually that crazy either. If you view his page you'll get a great idea of who he is as a service provider, business owner, and human being. He's an awesome guy, so naturally people are happy to connect with him. 

That includes this 1500 person list of property managers, of which 420 have connected with him (they'll see his content forever now) and 111 have responded to his automated (yet human) outreach. 

And now? He's a gazillionaire in 6 months.

Just kidding, he's actually too busy on roofs (like I said, very successful) and  many of these conversations on the back burner. That's life right?

The nice thing is it'll only be more authentic when he gets to those conversations - because really who wants to spend all their time on here.

It's easy and I'm so sick of scrolling past that junk.... how are you so shameless?

It's surface level, but AI posts have "—" in them. If you read my content you know I'm a huge fan of " - " but " — " screams that you don't give a damn about your reputation.

If you're the .01% who actually use an em dash over a hyphen, well I'm sorry - you just can't use them anymore without looking like a fool.

It's incredible how many posts I'm seeing straight up copy/pasted. People completely removing themselves from the process.

I mean, at least do some personal editing over it. Be a human!
