last weekend i was the reason behind 2 of the 10,000 job losses goldman sachs says AI is causing every month.

it's not a good feeling, but I needed a website and video for our launch and it was really the best option with the little time and money I have.

last year, our website alone cost us $120,000 and six months with a design agency and it was the most painful experience of my career.

the agency was stubborn and patronizing. simple feedback turned into ego battles. 

still I sought to work with another agency for this new website, but we didn't have $120K and 6 months. but even the faster, more affordable freelancer we tried working with didn't pan out - communication and turn around time was slow.

so last weekend I asked my AI "research how to build a great landing page and then go do it"

soon after that, the same thing happened with our video animator.

I asked my AI "research how to animate product UI for launch videos and do it"

and again, it turned out great and saved us thousands.

here's the truth:

HUMANS ARE GREAT. 

I love working with independent creatives and technologists because that's what I would be doing if I wasn't running this company.

but the world is changing, and I fear that if people don't adapt there will be many many stories like mine.

here's what you should do if you're one of these people:

- use AI to 10x your own output - your clients are already using it. you should be too, but with your expertise on top.

- be obsessively responsive - fast turnarounds. tight timelines. people need to LOVE working with you.

- lean into what AI can't do - empathy. judgment. pushing back when the client's idea is wrong. that still matters, but only if everything else is also great.

the economy isn't losing 10,000 jobs a month. it's redistributing them.

the question is who will step up to take them.

saw this woman yesterday in the blizzard, just standing there on her phone, getting absolutely pelleted with snow. wind whipping. umbrella fully inside out. 

and she was just… chilling.

a perfect metaphor for my life lately.

we’ve been grinding harder than i ever have for this launch. everything is kind of insane. 
- competitors announcing double-digit million dollar fundraises
- massive bugs getting introduced and then fixed
- amazig new features shipping into the product. 
- the chrome store taking down our extension. 
- the team and I up until 4am almost every night for the past few weeks

and somehow… i’m chilling.

if you’re building a startup, this is the job. chaos isn’t the exception, it’s the baseline.

and honestly, i love it.

there’s something about being pushed to your limit, whether it’s walking through a blizzard or shipping your startup, that changes you. 

you rise to the moment. you do things you didn’t think you were capable of.
