🌎😮  I once flew on a company private jet overseas.

(I wasn't an executive. Not even close.)


So how did a regular employee end up on a private plane with the leadership team?

A secretary made it happen.

7 years earlier, I built a relationship with a kind, quiet woman who sat in a corner on my office floor.

Over the course of our relationship, I got to know her, she got to know me. 

I shared with her that I live with cystic fibrosis. That traveling means hauling many suitcases full of medical equipment through airports, security lines, and cramped commercial flights.

She remembered.

When she was helping executives plan this international trip 7 years later, she spoke up:

"Amy travels with a lot of medical equipment. It would really help her to fly with the group on the private jet."

And just like that - I was invited.

Not because I was important.
Because she was kind.

👉 We're often taught to build relationships with "the right people."

The decision makers. The executives. The ones with power.

But some of the most impactful people in my life have been:

- Secretaries
- Bus boys
- Janitors
- Parking lot attendants

Not because I wanted something from them.

But because every single person deserves respect, kindness, and a genuine smile.

Everyone's life is equally valuable.

That secretary didn't remember me because I was strategic.

She remembered me because I was a real person who developed a relationship with her without an agenda. 

I was an entry level employee. She was a secretary. Just real people caring enough to invest in getting to know each other.

Oklahoma. Texas. Alabama. Indiana. 

That's where my money is.

And there's a very good reason for that.


California has:

- Some of the longest eviction times in the country
- Rent control that squeezes landlords
