How I switched from Engineer to Investment Analyst?

Everything started when I was a child. Back in 2003, the USA invaded Iraq. I was only 6 years old back then and I never thought this would make a huge impact on me.

As my father collected several books and newspapers on that topic, I could barely read then. But when I was getting a bit older, I was always keeping an eye on that material, including a large, pretty nice world map.

After coming back from my school, I always looked at that map and kept trying to understand which country was in which part. I also looked at the newspaper and the book on the Iraq war and history that my father collected.

That was my early childhood. 

So, from my childhood, I loved history.

I kept reading on that topic and then my father gave me a Religious Scripture, and most of the history there was about the Middle East.

Then came the 2nd significant part of my life, where I learned that a great chaos had just begun in the Middle East, which is known to you as the "Arab Spring."

As I was interested in the Middle East, knowing what was happening there and why it was happening was crucial to me.

I started learning about that since 2011. There, I learned about Geopolitics.

I had studied countless pages on that topic and I realized that Economics has something to do with Geopolitics and History.

In most cases, History and Geopolitics are shaped by the Economic interests of the hegemon power.

So, I started to learn Economics since 2017 to understand the world better and to find the gap between History, Politics, and Money.

As I slowly learned about Monetary Economics, the study from my childhood was sparking in my eyes as I discovered how Money, Power, and Politics act with each other.

As I studied Economics, I discovered the most fascinating part of it, and that was the "Capital Market."

I just got fascinated when I started learning about the capital market and how it functions.

The most important part I discovered here is that all of my study and understanding from my childhood is related here.

And that brought me to the field of Finance, Investing in general.

Whatever, I have a degree in Industrial Engineering, which also helps me enormously to understand the production processes and supply chain of a business.

So, I found my spot as an Investment Analyst, where I can use all of my previous learning and knowledge, and there is no other subject where it can be used.

🔴 Europe has $12 trillion in investments in America as stocks and U.S. Treasury bonds.

In the face of a Greenland takeover, Europe’s ultimate action would be to sell those assets and collapse the U.S. financial market.

But that would be the ultimate form of stupidity.

Because all those assets—stocks and Treasury bonds—are held in the U.S. as custodian.

Yes, the EU can order a sell-off, but America will freeze that order and not allow it.

In the 1997 Asian financial crisis, Taiwan’s currency fell about 25%, which was hurting Taiwan.

Taiwan had $88 billion in foreign reserves in the U.S. They ordered to sell dollars and buy Taiwanese currency so the currency would stop free-falling.

But the U.S. didn’t like it and did not follow Taiwan’s order.

Later, the New York Fed told Taiwan it was a technical issue.

Exactly the same would happen to Europe if the EU tried to dump all $12 trillion in U.S. assets.

The ultimate point is: if it’s not in your custody, you don’t own it.

I Explain The Global Market & Make It Digestible 📑

🔴 Japanese bond market is breaking down. To protect it, Scott Bessent stepped in.

In the last 3 days, the 10-year Japanese government bond yield rose 19 bps, which is a violent, unprecedented move.

As Japanese government bonds yield more, capital from around the world—especially from America—is returning to Japan.

That capital is coming from selling U.S. Treasury bonds, which is pushing U.S. borrowing costs higher.

So Bessent stepped in and told the Bank of Japan to stop the upward movement in Japanese government bond yields by any means.

But suppressing yields means printing fresh new yen, which will lead to more inflation. Japan imports 90% of its energy and 60% of its food.

Bessent said, “Don’t worry. I will open a swap line for you.” That means he will give you dollars bypassing the market, and you can use those dollars to buy yen from the market so the yen will stay down.

So you don’t need to sell your U.S. Treasuries.

Like 2 months ago, the U.S. opened a swap line for Argentina to stop the Argentine peso from collapsing. Now it is happening with Japan.

The fiat game will end when every country has a direct swap line with America.

🔴 Very few know the true reason why gold is rising so high. Let’s discuss it:

Once upon a time, we experienced recessions where the stock market would fall 50%. It was a common phenomenon in the mid-20th century.

Even in the 21st century, the market fell 50% twice, and both events happened in the first decade of the century: once in the 2001 dot-com crash, and again in the 2008 internet crash.

Since then, in the next 18 years, the market has never fallen 50%.

Okay, did our behavior change, or did we solve market crashes?

One thing I can tell you with certainty: we didn’t change our behavior. In fact, over the last 300,000 years, human nature is the only thing that has remained unchanged.

Instead, we developed a subtle but dangerous engineering method to “solve” market crashes.

That is: print money, throw it into the market, and the market will pump and rise—no crash.

We sacrifice the value of our currency by debasing it through printing to prevent market crashes.

From 1776 (American independence) to 2007, the USA had $7 trillion in debt.
From 2008 to 2025, America added another $30 trillion in fresh debt, about 8% growth per year.

So it’s the government running a $2 trillion deficit every year, and the central bank monetizing that debt by debasing the dollar—that is how we solved market crashes.

Gold truly understands this, so it is rising like never before.

Stop printing and let the market crash 50%. People will sell their gold and invest in risky assets, and gold will fall to $2,000 per ounce.

🔴 Germany wants to pull 1,200 tonnes of gold from American vaults as relations with the USA sour.

Germany began storing gold in U.S. vaults during the postwar period of the 1950s and 1960s, when Germany exported cars and machinery to the USA and generated a huge trade surplus.

Currently, the deposited amount is around 1,200 tonnes, which in dollar terms is worth over $100 billion.

Now the question is: will America send the physical gold to Germany according to Germany’s request?

The answer is "NO"

And it is 120% certain.

The USA has around 8,000 tonnes of gold and a $40 trillion debt pile. America cannot afford to reduce its gold holdings.

Because when gold moves, power moves with it.

The last time gold moved massively from Britain to America, the British Empire collapsed.

So be sure—America will never send 1,200 tonnes of gold to Germany.

That is a simple lesson of History.

Yes, that is your gold. Look how beautiful it is. Watch and enjoy—but don’t dare to take it.

🔴 Remember the banks’ reports saying gold was a bubble at $4,000?

Gold is now over $4,800 per ounce. Where are they now?

Banks cannot tolerate a high gold price because it goes against their own business and interests.

A high gold price means a loss of trust in Treasury bonds, which pushes bond yields higher. Rising bond yields bring bond prices down, and that creates losses for banks.

This is because commercial banks are the largest holders of Treasury bonds, as banks back their liabilities with government bonds.

Besides that, a high gold price means people are saving more in gold, so deposits are leaving banks, which is also against the business model of bankers.

So banks never want gold to be at a high price. Instead, they will do everything to suppress the gold price.

By suppressing the gold price, they create and sell complex financial products and trade them in the market—things people don’t actually need in the first place.

People need a place for savings with no risk, and that is gold.

Don’t fall into the banks’ trap.

Gold can never be a bubble or overvalued, because gold is a measure of value.

So how can value itself be overvalued?

🔴 EU countries confiscated $240 billion of Russian assets right after the 2022 Ukraine invasion.

At that time, the price of gold per ounce was $1900.

Russia had about 2300 tonnes of gold in its reserves and still holds roughly the same amount.

Since then, the price of gold has increased to about $2900 per ounce.

This implies that the value of Russia’s gold reserves increased by roughly $220 billion.

Meaning, Russia recovered almost the entire confiscated amount simply by holding gold.

Since 2022, because of the confiscation of Russian assets, most countries increased their gold reserves, which pushed gold prices higher.

Additionally, the Russian invasion and the sanctions on Russia increased energy prices, which led to higher inflation, causing people to rush back to gold.

That is how Russia gained about $220 billion.

Physical assets are always more reliable than financial assets.

🔴 Trump: “China is very smart.

They make all the windmills and export them to Europe.

One thing I have noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing.

China makes almost all of the windmills, but I haven’t been able to find any wind farms in China. Did you ever think of that?”

China sells windmills to stupid people.

Europe is in the middle of an energy crisis:

-Germany now generates 22% less electricity than it did in 2017.
-The UK produces just 33% of the total energy from all sources that it did in 1999.

And how can a nation prosper if its energy production falls by 30%?

🔴 Norway’s $2 trillion sovereign wealth fund said it will not sell its U.S. asset holdings.

It is the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world.

Yesterday, a Danish pension fund sold all of its U.S. assets over the Greenland issue. So people were asking whether Norway would do the same.

Norway’s decision to stick with U.S. assets has 3 main reasons:

1/ U.S. capital markets have the deepest liquidity base.

You can easily sell $10 billion of equities or bonds without major price fluctuations. 

There is no other market in the world that can settle tens of billions of dollars in transactions without huge price swings.

2/ Size of the economy.

The Norwegian wealth fund invests hundreds of billions of dollars in the U.S., if not close to a trillion.

To absorb such massive capital, the size of the economy matters, because a small economy cannot absorb such large inflows. Asset prices would turn into a huge bubble and eventually burst.

3/ Growth and innovation.

80% of the world’s top publicly traded companies and 60% of top private companies are in the U.S.

So it is natural that, to grow the fund and get the best returns, you want to be there, because there is no other such market in the world.

So don’t worry—Europe will not sell its holdings, because there is no competitor to the U.S. financial market.

America is the king of the financial world.

🔴 Canadian Prime Minister Carney says the US-led “rules-based international order” is finished and “will not return.”

Okay, what does that mean for the market?

1/ U.S. Treasury bonds will lose their status as the global go-to place for savings.

2/ Gold will overtake U.S. Treasury bonds as the top reserve asset.
3/ There will be fewer buyers for U.S. debt, and the U.S. will have to offer higher interest rates.

4/ A new supply chain will be built, which will be bullish for mining, energy, and infrastructure.

5/ All commodities will rise significantly.
6/ Hard assets will beat financial assets.
7/ Free movement of capital across borders will come to an end.

But it doesn’t matter—good businesses with solid fundamentals and huge future earning capacity will still shine like bright stars.

🔴 What China did to U.S. factory workers, AI will do the same to office workers.

Anything a white-collar office worker does, AI will handle within the next 3–5 years.

300 years ago, people left agricultural land, entered factories, and built cities.

300 years later, new technology (AI) is again pushing us out of factories and offices—but this time, we have nowhere to go.

We will sit idle, share memes, trade stocks, and the government will send us paychecks. We will live on that.

The amount of the paycheck may be nice, but there is one problem:

The paycheck will be embedded with your digital ID. Everything you write or say, the government will know, and if you go against the government, your paycheck will stop.

At the peak of AI, there will be only two jobs left:

One is the creator.
The other is the regulator.
