Ramiro Rodriguez Markowski

Yesterday in Berlin, I was reminded why being here matters.

Not online.
Not through decks.
Not via second-hand introductions.

But in the room.

I attended an exceptional evening at Gründerszene x The Delta Campus, featuring Niklas Östberg, co-founder & CEO of Delivery Hero — one of Europe’s true global champions.

A founder who didn’t just build a unicorn,
but a company operating in 70+ countries, reaching hundreds of millions of users, and creating entire industries along the way.

For me, this was personal.

One of Delivery Hero’s companies, PedidosYa, had a massive impact in Bolivia and across LATAM — creating thousands of direct jobs, enabling income for families, and accelerating the digital economy in the region. (I actually mentioned to Niklas how JP Velasco former country manager run for VP of Bolivia! he was amazed!)

This is what European technology really looks like when it scales globally.

What made the night even more powerful wasn’t just the stage — it was the context.

📍 The Delta Campus
A place I chose as home for my work in Berlin.

Founded by Julian Teicke and Louis, Delta isn’t just a workspace.
It’s a curated ecosystem where founders, operators, investors, and policymakers meet — without paywalls — to learn directly from people who have built at scale.

No ticket.
No exclusivity.
Just real access.

Being able to sit down, ask questions, and personally talk to a founder like Niklas is something that only happens when you’re physically embedded in the ecosystem.

During our conversation, I asked Niklas a question I keep asking European founders:

👉 How do we better showcase the incredible companies being built in Europe — especially to regions like LATAM?

In Latin America, we grow up surrounded by U.S. platforms and brands.
But we barely hear about European giants like:

• Delivery Hero
• Zalando
• HelloFresh
• n8n
• Lovable
• and many others quietly shaping the future

This isn’t a lack of innovation problem.
It’s a bridge problem.

The evening opened with a powerful intervention by Damian Boeselager, co-founder of Volt Europa and Member of the European Parliament — a clear, pragmatic voice on Europe’s future competitiveness, innovation, and integration.

Listening to him, it was impossible not to think:

If Europe wants to build global champions,
it needs fewer silos — and more connection.

Between countries.
Between ecosystems.
Between regions like Europe and LATAM.

That’s exactly why I’m in Berlin.

Being here allows me to do something that’s almost impossible from afar:
• Connect directly with founders building at global scale
• Understand ecosystems from the inside
• Create trust before talking about business
• Build bridges that are human first, scalable second

Last night was another confirmation:

🌍 Berlin is one of the most powerful places in the world to build global connections.

And when you’re here, those connections become accessible, human, and actionable.

Vision doesn’t work through magic — it works through movement.

And every movement begins with one unexpected connection.

I met Maciej Traczyk in September 2023 at the Singularity University camp in Miami — a program that reshaped how I think about networks, abundance, and exponential collaboration.

Since that day, we’ve had monthly conversations.
No agenda. No expectations.
Just two founders exchanging ideas, challenging perspectives, and helping each other grow.

When I arrived in Germany last year, I even flew to Warsaw in February just to visit him.

Very quickly, I understood something important:

👉 Maciej is the kind of connector who changes trajectories quietly, without asking for anything in return.

He has helped founders across Poland, Europe, and the US succeed — many of them without ever knowing he was behind the scenes.

And when he co-authored the INC article (link in the comments) with Keith Ferrazzi (“Never Eat Alone”), something clicked deeply for me:

Fractional leadership only works when individuals operate as one unified system — not as isolated experts.

That’s exactly what Maciej embodies…
and exactly what we are building with BridgeLATAM.

🚀 Last year in LA, someone asked him: “What’s the ideal end of 2025?”

His answer was instant:
“Hosting the Beyond Connection cohort in Warsaw.”

Last September, it happened.
A full delegation from Keith Ferrazzi’s network walking through Warsaw, meeting founders, connecting ecosystems — exactly as he envisioned it.

Around that same period, I kept seeing one image:

👉 Being in Berlin, connecting European deeptech founders with LATAM superconnectors who can actually help them land real customers and partners.

Today, that vision is no longer a sketch.
It’s turning into structured conversations with government groups, institutions, investors, and founders across Europe — all pointing to one truth:

💡 Europe wants LATAM.
But Europe needs a trusted bridge.

🌉  BridgeLATAM is becoming that bridge.

This idea didn’t emerge from theory.
It emerged from human connection:

And I’m grateful every day for the network that continues to grow —
not because I expected anything in return,
but because purpose attracts its tribe.

Today, Maciej’s vision and mine align:

this week i found myself standing inside the indonesian embassy in berlin…  
because a friend I met through my kid’s school invited me.

no fancy application.  
no exclusive VIP list.  
just… being in the right city, with the right people, staying open.

inside, we were talking about the jakarta–berlin twin-city relationship, asian ecosystems, how jakarta is building its own version of what berlin was 10 years ago.

and in my head i kept connecting dots:

•⁠ ⁠berlin ↔️ jakarta  
•⁠ ⁠berlin ↔️ são paulo (fresh from COP30 conversations)  
•⁠ ⁠berlin ↔️ santiago (deeptech superconnectors planning our hello tomorrow mission)  
•⁠ ⁠LATAM ↔️ paris (changenow, where we’ll bring a strong latam delegation next march)

different regions, same pattern:  

𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎.

that moment in the embassy reminded me of something founders and funds often underestimate:

	⁠“opportunity” is rarely in your current bubble.  
	⁠it’s usually one intro, one city, one ecosystem away.

if you’re a european startup or fund and you’re only looking at:  
europe ↔️ europe  
or europe ↔️ US  

…you’re probably missing the biggest asymmetric opportunities.

the real game is here:

•⁠ ⁠connecting 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (europe, asia, latam)  
•⁠ ⁠connecting 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

that’s literally what my weeks look like now:  
asia berlin → calls with brazil after COP30 → deeptech in chile → sustainability in paris → back to berlin.

different time zones. same mission:

When “Half the Internet Breaks”… What Do You Rely On?


Today Cloudflare went down — and once again the internet reminded us of something uncomfortable:

We built global companies on top of invisible infrastructure that can collapse in seconds.

Within minutes, platforms we all depend on —
X, ChatGPT, Spotify, Canva, Perplexity, even Make.com — started throwing 500 errors.
A month ago, it was AWS triggering 17+ million outage reports and disrupting thousands of businesses worldwide.

Everyone loves to talk about “automation,” “scalability,” and “AI replacing everything”…
until Cloudflare or AWS sneezes — and suddenly the whole ecosystem catches a cold.

And here’s the truth founders don’t like to admit:

👉 Most of our businesses are one outage away from chaos.
👉 You can automate your stack… but you can’t automate trust.
👉 Clients don’t want a status page — they want a human telling them “we’ve got you.”

This is the moment when every startup, founder, tech team and operator remembers something essential:


**Technology scales you.

Human connection saves you.**

Because when your automations break…
When your API calls fail…
When your “always-on” AI tools go offline…

You don’t look for a chatbot.
You look for a person who can explain, calm, support, and unblock.

And in this hyper-connected, hyper-automated world, that human layer is becoming your real competitive advantage.
