A senior editorial role with global media brand Monocle. I oversaw daily news and opinion product, The Monocle Minute. I edited At The Front, the opening section of the magazine. I also contributed to Affairs, Business and Culture sections  - interviewing figures ranging from Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, to French composer Jean-Michel Jarre. I appeared on and wrote segments for Monocle 24 - chiefly on award-winning affairs programme The Foreign Desk.

The Future Laboratory

A department head at UK research consultancy The Future Laboratory. As Foresight Editor I ran the division - Foresight - tasked with delivering the company’s strategy reports, presentations and special projects, working with clients including UBS, Google, LVMH and Unilever. Reporting to The Future Laboratory co-founders, I was tasked with managing budgets, winning new business and ensuring the department’s profitability. I led a team of researchers, a network of freelance correspondents and oversaw the creation of new editorial products.

Foresight Editor

A deputy editor role at digital B2B publication LS:N Global, a title owned by The Future Laboratory that investigates trends in society, business and technology. I led eight staff journalists and a global pool of freelance correspondents in producing the digital publication and LS:N Global’s sector-specific reports. I covered breaking stories in business, technology, science and design, offering analysis on how developments in these categories translates to market opportunities for a commercial readership hailing from the world’s biggest brands.

Deputy Editor

A mid-level role within LS:N Global where I produced a high volume of news, features and long reads on subjects ranging from clean tech and sustainability, to gender norms and demographic trends. The job required on-the-ground reporting at trade fairs and industry events such as Milan Furniture Fair, the Consumer Electronics Show and the International Motor Show.

A junior position with LS:N Global where I was charged with overseeing the publication’s news output, writing five news stories per day and managing the company’s social media profile.

I was ready for the job to be deeply strenuous…

In December, Evelyn won a project with a major tech brand. It was a huge coup for us, reporting directly to the company’s global CMO. I was overjoyed.

But felt some trepidation, too.

The job had – at a glance – all the conventions of a tough undertaking.

> A fast turnaround
> A taxing subject
> A new client

But as we got going, momentum gathered in the most wonderful way.

Research > Writing > Art Direction

It all flowed with astonishing smoothness and speed.

Even when the client asked us to shift the direction of the story midway through the production run. The forward motion never slowed.

It led me to a realisation that I’m going to try to carry in 2026 – and beyond.

Great clients = great work.

There are a few reasons the project felt smooth (I use the word ‘smooth’, because, while it was fun, it definitely wasn’t easy, either). 

And they’re all thanks to what our client brought to the effort.
