The Reframe

In my role as Founder of The Reframe, I am responsible for managing the coaching programmes of a number of private clients and corporate teams.  This includes running the sessions themselves, bespoke research to support the different needs of my clients, and tailoring tools to each person I work with that enable them to carry on and develop the work we do together in their own time.  

I focus specifically on what I call 'Therapeutic Coaching' which enables me to work on two levels:
1. Identifying the psychological knots that cause anxiety, stress and tiredness and how to untangle them
2. Putting plans together to move forward and create the healthy goals and intentions that will mean you live a more balanced, content and dynamic life.

The end goal is always the same, to foster independence not dependence.  So I provide clients with the conversations and knowledge they need to build their own inner wisdom, grow more trust in themselves and their own decisions and move towards becoming increasingly Self (with a capital S) led.  Once my clients don't need me anymore, my job is done.

Fanclub PR

In my role as in-house coach at Fanclub PR I was responsible for working with the main PR team and CEO on increasing resilience and collaborative working.  

This included a number of activities from regular 1:2:1 coaching with each team member every month, to conflict management and group workshops tailored to explore facets such as client relationships, feedback and imposter syndrome.  

It also involved a yearly "truth audit", interviewing each member of the team on what they thought was and wasn't working within the business, with feedback delivered back thematically to the CEO to respect privacy.  A great way for senior leaders in any company to gain a properly "real" and pragmatic idea of the thinking happening in their teams and what potential threats or opportunities this creates for them.

As well as working as a Life and Power coach, I have the privilege of being a parent to two little boys and a wife to the wonderful Cain Ullah. This job is unequivocally the most important one I hold, it's my vocation, my centre and my heart.  

However, my coaching practise is an integral piece of this mosaic.  It enables me to express my creativity, my passion and my power.  And in doing this, I'm showing my kids that they can do these things too. As well as showing up as a happier, more balanced and elevated Wife & Mum - more of the time - not all of the time, no one is perfect.

I’ve always loved words. As a child, I delighted in discovering new ones - obsequious, rubicund, effloresce - and experiencing the vivid images they conjured in my mind, and the way they made me feel.

As I grew older, I began to understand that all of our life is created in language. The words we use about ourselves and others shape our realities. We build possibilities for ourselves or trap ourselves in cages, often without realising it, simply through the words we use and the stories we decide to tell.

Beneath all of this lies the emotional current of language. When someone is described as articulate, what I hear is that they know how to play the music of language, that they can move others through their mastery of words.

So what I do is listen - to the words people choose to use about the situations they are in, to the way they say them to how they say them. And through that, I help them get really clear about how they might be inadvertently blocking themselves - what they may be missing.

We then start to envisage possibility - what do people really want in their lives? What will it look like when they get there? So many people know what they don't want but have not envisaged what an amazing alternative reality could look like for them.  It's a mistake so many people make when they are attempting to grow in their lives - you need something clear to aim at when you fly otherwise you might just end up in another cloud.

I do this with individuals in 1:1 coaching, and I also do it within businesses in the form of consulting. 
For corporates in particular, I am often asked to interview many people and draw out a clear picture of the collective voice of a company, what it’s really asking for.

To my mind, listening is the ultimate form of respect. And it’s only through respect that you earn the trust required to challenge someone, to say what they may not have heard before. The things that offer new perspective and enable them to show up better for themselves and for others.  The things that help them achieve more than they thought possible.
