📌 Here’s how smart marketers are responding:

1. Shift from keywords to questions.

Stop optimizing for “best running shoes” and start addressing:
 – “Which shoes reduce knee pain?”
 – “Are Hoka or Brooks better for long runs?”

Content should simulate the AI conversation, not just rank.

2. Rebuild your content strategy around visibility

Track impressions, not just traffic. 

You’re now playing a game of presence,
how often you’re cited, summarized, or surfaced in AI answers.

3. Create mid-funnel proxies.

 If you can’t track comparisons through search, capture them elsewhere:
 – Embedded quizzes
 – Email flows that mirror research behavior
 – Strategic social listening around product questions

4. Design for topical authority.

Forget stuffing pages with variations of a keyword. 

Build structured, deep content ecosystems around 
- themes
- use cases
- buyer questions.

Instead of optimizing just for “best sustainable sneakers,” they could restructure a content hub around:

- “Are Allbirds good for walking long distances?”
- “How do Allbirds compare to Nike’s eco-line?”
- “What materials are used in sustainable shoes?”

Each question gets its own structured answer, tagged and linked in a topical cluster. The goal?

To show up in AI-generated answers, not just on search results pages.

This shifts them from keyword-hunting to question-claiming, 
a far more durable long-term strategy in zero-click search.
