I have 23+ years of experience as a strategic management consultant/business adviser, and senior lawyer specialising in construction law, contracting, major projects, risk, compliance, and procurement for business and government

I have acted as General Counsel, Procurement Adviser, Commercial Officer, Contract Administrator, Senior Legal Counsel and Strategic Adviser in different organisations - these roles have given me a depth of experience that is rare for most lawyers.

I CAN Network

I worked with the I CAN Network from February 2015 to July 2018. The I CAN Network is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to change societal attitudes and learning outcomes for individuals with Asperger's Syndrome and those on the autistic spectrum through education, mentorship and empowerment. My role with the I CAN Network included working with the board to:

- Establish, maintain and review governance and risk management frameworks;
- Advising on governance principles and reviewing and adapting the organisation's constitution where necessary;
- Develop and monitor compliance policies;
- Managing the growth and development of the organisation by the review, selection and utilisation of appropriate corporate and taxation structures and initiatives;
- Ensuring timely and relevant information is gathered and provided to regulators; and
- Undertaking other roles and responsibilities as specified by the Board.

I resigned on 30 June 2018 to focus on my chartered secretary qualification.

I left TMF Group on 25 November 2016 to commence a legal counsel role at Telstra.

Since 2014 I've worked across the entity lifecycle with grassroots charities, social enterprises, startups and large corporates. 

My governance advisory practice, Steady Advisory prides itself on cutting through to the source of governance & board performance challenges rather than providing bandaid solutions. There is almost always a leading indicator for poor performance that is more readily detectable than you might think.

Sometimes the answer to those performance problems involves letting someone go. Other times require more care, careful guidance and nuance to boards and executive teams over an extended term.
