3 years ago, I had to make a tough decision - buying a laptop. 

I had just started freelancing, and I had to go on my first workation ever!! The occasion called for a laptop. 

But as I said I was still early in my freelance journey, just 3 months into it. Revenue was barely flowing in - less than what I was making in my job anyway. 

What do I do?

I found an alternative- I'll buy a second-hand laptop. For the time being, anyway. Once I scale, I'll buy a new one. 

Got a renewed Lenovo ThinkPad for 18870/-

It's been 3 years and I'm still working off the same laptop. 

The ROI on this thing has been insane. Already made 50x from this. Never once has it given up on me, no lags, I think it can even give a tough fight to Mac. 

Don't get me wrong I would die for a Mac someday- I see the allure. One day maybe when I give in to capitalism. 

Till then - it's me and my Thinkpad against the world.

Marketing heavy industries on LinkedIn ✨

My sister landed 2 offers within 24 hours with the mini outbound system I created for her

She’s in her final semester of law, and last week she randomly mentioned that she wanted an internship in real estate. 

Given the current job market, I knew one thing:
Just applying to jobs wasn't going to work

So instead, I built an outbound system:

• Identified 20 real estate companies that hire for legal
• Used Clay to get verified contacts at these companies
• Used Snov to send a pitch

We really expected nothing, but ended up receiving 2 callbacks on the same day - (one from a major name in the country)

I’ve done this for clients for years.
Doing it for someone at home felt different.
Just a little more satisfying ❤

Finally tried Claude Skills, and it was a massive fail for me. 

Took 10+ iterations to get one post right, and every output still needed manual rewrites. Took away all my precious tokens (if you're using the free version, you know the pain).

In my opinion it was too rigid, and I became so irritated that I turned it off.

Wasted 2 days working on it when I could've just used Claude Projects. 

This way I can add all context in one place and the output is so much better!!!

I was tired of copy-pasting LinkedIn screenshots into a Canva doc and calling it a "client report."

So I built the thing that should have existed already.

Use case - for sending reports to clients/documenting 

All you have to do is download your analytics from LinkedIn as xls and upload it to the platform

Functionality I've built: 

custom branding (use your own colors)
export as PDF
Use your link preview API (Free) to preview your LinkedIn posts (so that it's not all links)

Got this dm and no offense, the goal itself is kind of BS.

Expecting reach on a company page is a waste of time because the algorithm doesn't even put those posts in people’s feeds to begin with.

If people aren’t even seeing it, how are they going to engage with it?

Unless you have a massive employee network that is ready to reshare and engage with every single post, the page isn’t going to work for you as a growth channel.

That being said, I have grown company pages, and the only thing that has somewhat worked is using an individual account to attract connections first. 

You build trust as a human, and then people follow that trust over to the company page.

Treat the page like a landing page to look legit, but stop expecting it to be your main engine for growth.

Last year, I was working with a founder who was very heavy on delegation. 

And I hated that experience. 

Everything went through a VA.

And if I actually needed the founder?
God help me.

* Messages got delayed, hence campaigns got delayed

* Since I was talking to the VA with zero context, there was a 80% probability I'll have to repeat what I just said to the founder, or the important facts will be missed.

* I had to cc 3 different people in mail and maintain long threads - for a moment, I felt I was back in corporate

What’s funny is that all this system saga actually made it so intimidating to even have a proper conversation. 

The founders I get the best results for are often the busiest - but they stay direct. They know that a 2-minute direct voice note is better than a 2-day game of "booking a call" via an assistant.

Hire the VA. Build the systems. 
But know when to step in and just talk?

Everyone on LinkedIn is suddenly obsessed with optimizing for impressions.
My brain immediately put up three red flags:

1/ People are posting 3-4x a day to get there. Is that even sustainable?  

2/ Quality takes a hit when you chase volume. Is the reach worth it? 

3/ Is "impressions" even a good metric to capitalise on? 

But if the last few years have taught me anything, it's that you can’t judge a book by its cover.

So, I’ve decided to give this a go myself.
For the next month, we are optimizing for impressions.

I want to see if this is a legitimate growth engine.

I’ll share the raw results. Let’s see what happens.

“LinkedIn is oversaturated with marketers.”

Spend 10 minutes in your inbox, and you’ll probably have:
3 cold pitches
2 lead gen agencies
1 person promising to 10x your growth

But this is mostly a visibility problem.

Marketing is one of the few professions where being visible is the job.

So yes - marketers will always feel like the loudest group on LinkedIn.

But it's also about how you curate your network.

One of my clients operates in the mining industry.

His LinkedIn community is made up of:
CEOs
plant managers
engineers

I don’t think I’ve added a single marketer to his network.

So his feed is full of operational discussions and industry problems. He regularly gets DMs from actual prospects.

Be fierce about your network - if you're so avoidant of marketers - DON'T ADD THEM - simple as that.
