I started Because of Marketing from my bedroom in July 2020 because I was obsessed with understanding how marketing captures our attention.

Five years later, that curiosity has grown into a global marketing media publication with a community and following of over 750,000 and 60 million organic impressions annually across the US, UK and Australia.

As I build Because of Marketing, I share my story, break down the marketing campaigns that catch my attention, and discuss the latest marketing news and trends. 

Outside of business, I'm a proud advocate for the Lewy Body Society and Alzheimer Scotland, having raised over £17,000 in the past 10 years to support their vital work.

•	Overall control of the company’s accounting function
•	Providing commercial insight to the MD and Board, in order to drive profitable growth and to optimise the company’s financial performance
•	Manage the P&L and balance sheet and provide day to day leadership and development of the finance function
•	Preparation and analysis of accurate and informative periodic financial reports for internal and group reporting audience 
•	Perform detail review of  Balance Sheet accounts

•	Take full ownership and deliver first class corporate governance, internal audit and client audit / compliance 
•	Management of working capital – AR, AP and WIP
•	Manage payroll process and liaison with outsourced processing company
•	Responsible for the delivery of the annual statutory accounts and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
•	Supporting commercial bids and pricing related to new contracts
•	Quarterly VAT returns
•	Providing robust financial control and quality reporting packs to increase visibility of business performance.
•	Leading a successful financial audit
•	Responsible for all taxation issues, financial control of pensions, insurance, company secretary duties
•	Working closely with CEO on all financial matters, advising on strategy and decision making
•	Responsible for the proactive management of the company pension scheme, including roll out of company’s AE scheme
