A Web3 gaming studio came to us frustrated.

They had a great game. Engaged Discord community. Strong retention among crypto-native users. But they couldn't break past 1,000 daily active users.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺:
→ Onboarding required MetaMask installation
→ Users needed ETH for gas before playing
→ Seed phrase backup scared away casual gamers
→ Every in-game action required wallet signature
→ 95% of interested users dropped off before first game

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱:
→ Implemented account abstraction — email/social login creates wallet invisibly
→ Sponsored all gas fees — users never see transaction costs
→ Batched game actions — one signature per session, not per action
→ Built progressive disclosure — wallet details available but not required
→ Added fiat on-ramp for users who wanted to purchase in-game assets

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁:
✅ Onboarding completion rate jumped from 5% to 70%
✅ Daily active users grew from 1K to 100K in 3 months
✅ 80% of new users had never used crypto before
✅ Retention matched traditional mobile games
✅ Users discovered they "owned" assets later — delightful surprise, not barrier

The game didn't change. The onboarding did.

They stopped asking users to learn crypto. They let users play a game.
