Developed Perl scripts that queried Oracle DB using SQL to validated data.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Oracle

Oracle e-business Applications: The scope of the project is to perform QA for the Oracle e-business 11i applications. Involved in the design and development of the GUI based automation suite for the forms based and html based Oracle Applications. The verification of the results is done using an infrastructure tool developed in Perl that extracts the Winrunner results, parses and reports the statistics of the test runs without any user intervention. Worked on the enhancement phase of this infrastructure tool. 
* Creation of Test plan and Test Case documents. 
* Coding of Scripts in TSL (Winrunner) for building the GUI based Automation 
* Unit testing, integration testing (Perl) 
* Bug Fixes. 
* Resolved bugs in the infrastructure.

Certification of GIT Tools as a part of GIT Scripting team, which was responsible for new code 
development, testing and deployment for GIT Operations 
* Developed automated testing scripts using Perl for GIT Tools. 
* Successfully implemented test plans and produced summary reports. 
* Evaluated and prototyped an Automation infrastructure for automation and reporting using Oracle Application Express (SQL) and Wiki.

The labour codes may look like nothing burger for businesses at the first glance, but there is one big change that should help with manufacturing and services FDI. Also a big W for Indian entrepreneurs in manufacturing.

The four labour codes remove criminal penalties (jail terms) for most minor and procedural offences and replace them with:
- Monetary penalties
- Compounding (pay-and-close)
- Digital compliance correction
- Inspector-cum-facilitator guidance

Only very serious violations (like causing death due to negligence) remain criminal.

This is a paradigm shift in India’s labour regulation. 

Takes away a lot of bribe taking power from labour inspectors.

A lot of FDI went away to South East Asia because foreigners are wary of these criminal provisions.

Most Indian accountants never apply because they think “US accounting is too hard”.

It’s not.

Here’s what you really need to know over and above basic US accounting:

1. QuickBooks Online mastery
Every e-com brand uses QBO. If you can set up COA + automate bank rules → you’re already ahead.

2. Amazon & Shopify settlement accounting
This is the REAL skill.
Know how to decode payouts, fees, refunds, chargebacks → clients worship you.

3. A2X automation
The holy grail.
Automate revenue + COGS.
Most accountants have never even logged in to A2X.

4. Payment gateway reconciliation
Stripe, PayPal, Payoneer, Razorpay.
Clean this → you become indispensable.

5. Inventory accounting (FBA + DTC)
FIFO, landed cost, lost/damaged stock, SKU-wise margins.
This separates juniors from “mini CFOs”.

6. US sales tax mapping
Not filing.
Just knowing when sellers collect vs when platforms pay.
Avoids 90% errors.

7. Multi-channel reconciliation
Amazon + Shopify + PayPal + Stripe
→ Don’t double count revenue.
→ Map every cent.

8.Month-end closing for e-com
The single most requested service.
If you can deliver clean P&L + balance sheet every month → $800–$2500 per client, easy.

This is what founders care about more than accounting.

Most freelancers lose clients because they can’t communicate, not because they can’t do the work.

If you learn these 10 skills, you can serve ANY e-commerce business in the US. They have a serious shortage and its a lifetime opportunity for Indian accountants. 

This is REAL skill arbitrage.
Dollar income.
Remote work.
Massive shortage of talent.

And it’s still early.

The next big job market for Indian lawyers is not law firms.

It is Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India.

Most lawyers are not even looking there.

Here is what is quietly happening behind the scenes:
 India already has 1,700+ GCCs

 20%+ of Fortune 500 companies now run legal & compliance teams from India

 Thousands of in-house legal roles have already moved here: contracting, compliance, privacy, investigations, legal ops

 These are some of the most AI-native legal teams in the world

- What work are they doing from India?

 Reviewing and negotiating global commercial contracts

 Running contract lifecycle management for dozens of countries

 Managing global compliance calendars and regulatory filings

 Handling data privacy operations for GDPR, DPDP and more

 Supporting global investigations and e-discovery

 Building legal playbooks, clause libraries and knowledge systems

 Owning legal tech and AI tools for the entire enterpriseTen years ago, this work sat only in New York, London or Singapore.

Today, a huge chunk sits in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai.

AI is not killing these jobs.
AI is killing low-skill legal grunt work.

GCCs are hiring lawyers who can think, operate systems, and work with AI.

If you are:
 A law student confused about your career path
 A junior associate tired of low-control work
 An in-house lawyer who wants global-scale problems without emigratingYou should be looking at GCCs very seriously.

In the next 10 years, India will not just be a back office for global legal work. 
 India will be the operating system.

Here is what to do if you are implicated in a false case. 

If your lawyer has no idea about these things or doesn't take steps in these directions, find a different lawyer. Here is what a good defence team does without delay:

1. Immediately move to collect/preserve all the video recordings that can be useful - remember most footage would be auto deleted after 7 days. So this has to be done at rocket speed. Identify each camera (private security camera/street camera/hotel/cafe camera etc) and then move an application to preserve these recordings. Do not try to get access (which can be denied or delayed or objected to on the grounds of privacy), just focus on preserving the recordings.

2. Immediately ask courts to issue an order to preserve the CDR of all relevant persons and witnesses. Remember, trials and investigation can stretch on. CDR is not preserved beyond 18 months by telecom providers. Police may not ask them to save it if the evidence is against their allegations. It is up to the defence lawyer to get a court order to preserve these CDRs which shows location through which towers were pinged during alleged time of crime being committed, who else was in that area and who was not. For this you have more time than the 7 days of video footage preservation, but still better to do it quickly. Why? Because once a court orders these CDRs to be preserved, prosecution is forced to take all this evidence into account immediately which may end the false case then and there.

Now let me explain how this helps.

Imagine there is a false complaint against you that you assaulted/raped/murdered someone. Police complaint/FIR has to record time and place of offence, any witnesses. Now here is the best way to prove the charges are false.

You can show footage of a cafe or a lift or a street signal camera which shows you were in a different location at that time (given how ubiquitous cameras are now - you have a good chance of finding one)
Your CDR shows your phone was pinging towers which were tens of kms away and you were actually on a call with your mother while alleged crime was taking place
Turns out the key witness had his phone being used in a different city

Boom. Prosecution case and false narrative collapses. But not without the evidence.

In a famous rape case, police neglected to include in their case a video from a lift that showed a girl who accused a celebrity of rape was holding his hands while going to his room. The defence lawyer managed to get all videos of the hotel on the day preserved. They didn’t have access to the video until the chargesheet was filed. The celebrity spent more than a year in jail. But later the same video was used to procure an acquittal. 

Now imagine what would have happened if the video was not preserved or the lawyer neglected to get a court order to preserve the video.

Yet, most lawyers take no action to preserve such evidence in my experience. 

Share it with people given how common false cases have become.

Everyone keeps saying India should replace one of the Big 4.

But here is the reality people are not ready to talk about.

India does not need to replace the Big 4.

Because the Big 4 are slowly becoming Indian.

Just look at the numbers.

1. EY India now has more than 1,000 partners.
2. Deloitte India has grown from 173 partners to almost  700 in just a decade.
3. KPMG India has 600 plus.
4. PwC India has 500 plus.

These are not back-office roles.
These are partners.

Owners.

Decision makers.

And these numbers are now bigger than many European country partnerships which have existed for 100 years.

Now zoom out and look at the global picture.

1. EY’s global partner promotions last year were dominated by EMEIA.
2. 41 percent of all new partners came from this region.
3. One third came from emerging markets.
4. India was one of the biggest drivers behind that growth.

 At the top level too, Indian leadership is already visible.

- Deloitte’s global CEO until 2022 was an Indian from Haryana.
- KPMG UK was chaired by an Indian-origin woman.
-  The CEO leading Deloitte US Audit and Assurance is Indian-origin.

Across London, New York, Toronto, Sydney and Singapore, the senior partner classes now have more Indian surnames than ever before in history.

Why is this happening?

Because Western talent pipelines are collapsing.

The US alone is short of more than 300,000 accountants.

Europe has an aging workforce with almost no new supply.

Meanwhile India is producing the world’s largest pool of English-speaking accounting and finance talent.

The Big 4 have no choice but to shift leadership, delivery and scale to India.

This is not outsourcing anymore.
This is structural leadership migration.

Give it 10 more years and here is what the world will see.

India will not replace the Big 4.

India will become the leadership engine of the Big 4.

Indian partners will run global service lines.

Indian-origin leaders will head more national firms.
And the global accounting industry will be powered by Indian talent, Indian managers and Indian partners.

The world is aging.
India is rising. And the global accounting industry is quietly being Indianised. 

Not by slogans.
Not by policy.
But by competence, demographics and sheer scale.

Demography is destiny. This is our demographic dividend finally playing out.

From Madras to Manhattan: [A Grade] in US IP Law! 🏆🇺🇸🇮🇳

I’m thrilled to wrap up the last six months (SEP-01-2024 to MAR 2025) by completing one of the most rigorous professional challenges yet: the US Intellectual Property Law and Paralegal Studies course from LawSikho.

Balancing my practice as a Junior Advocate at the Madras High Court 🏛️ and pursuing my Masters in Criminology 🧠, the commitment was intense—but the results are worth it! I successfully completed the course, achieving A grade ranking! 🥇
