I feel stupid. I fell for it too. In the moral outrage against the Pentagon for ending Anthropic's contract - we are being manipulated. This has all been theater to cover the biggest orchestrated mob hit ever.

Look at the timeline of what happened yesterday, all in less than 24 hours.

Amazon invests 50B in OpenAI - getting them the exact AWS infrastructure that they need to be eligible for classified government contracts.

The Pentagon signed a new contract with OpenAI with the *exact* terms Anthropic had to 'stand it's ground' over - within hours of severing the Anthropic contract. This doesn't make sense, AND it doesn't happen without careful planning  - over a long time. 

No shade on Anthropic. They are the one player with any actual ethical and moral considerations in this game. Team Claude, all the way.

But now OpenAI can claim the same moral high ground, displaces Anthropic's front-runner status as the go-to for AI development and the only AI provider with L6 / classified deployment, stops a rival in its tracks when it was about to overtake them in revenue in 2026, and messes with their IPO plans.

They couldn't beat them on tech. So they beat them in politics and money. This was a hit on Anthropic by a bunch of thugs.

All while US taxpayers will foot the bill for untangling Anthropic's current foothold in the Pentagon.

It as never about the ethics of mass domestic surveillance or automated weapons. That's a perfect distraction from billionaires doing their thing.

Someone on your team built an AI prototype this month. Then someone else did too. One of them showed it to a VP before you knew it existed. Then two more people built prototypes.

Last Tuesday, a debate broke out in my live masterclass Director+ product leaders. 200+ senior product leaders in the room. 

Someone asked which tools to use for rapid prototyping. 

A VP fired back: "not relevant for VP level." 

15 people had opinions about that - and raised further questions. Who is building now, product or engineering? What's the right level of technical depth to be helpful, or even indispensable when it comes to AI? How about leadership - are we all just supposed to go be 'Super ICs' to be a part of AI development?

Here's where I come down: It is NOT the VP's job to build. But it's genuinely hard to lead something you've never done at least once.

LLMs are the one technology where the gap between understanding from the outside vs. the inside is biggest. You can't read your way to that intuition.

The leaders moving fast right now did the thing at least once, built the intuition, and got back to the work that only they can do - enabling their teams with what they've learned.

The most dangerous thing in tech right now? A majority of product leaders feel "confident" about AI... while missing the revolution happening under their noses.

3 signs you're in "AI prototype purgatory" (Director, VP, Head of Product — this one's for you):

1. Prototype chaos. Anyone on your team can build one. That's the good news. But there's no system to handle the onslaught — no way to capture the best ideas, kill the wrong ones, and keep AI momentum alive without making half the team feel like their work just got canceled.

 2. You're running pre-AI QA on post-AI systems. There's no evaluation tied to launch decisions. NOT "does it work" — but how often will it fail? In what ways? Under what conditions? The old test battery doesn't tell you that. You're shipping and finding out.

3. Risk is a document you wrote at kickoff and never opened again. You don't fully understand the risks you're taking. Leadership may not either. When data drifts or a model changes, you get a nasty surprise. Sometimes you have to roll back features that were already live.

*These aren't edge cases.*

Elena Luneva and I surveyed 60 leaders across industries. 85% have no clear path from prototype to production. 75% have no evaluation tied to launch decisions. 43% handle risk reactively.

That's the baseline; NOT a few struggling teams.

When it comes to AI development, you don't know what you don't know.

You're not alone in that. But there IS a better way.

• Hesitation detection — they tracked whether I paused during the process
• Copy and paste detection — they tracked whether I was pasting information instead of typing it

Behavioral biometrics. On top of the physical biometrics. For a LinkedIn badge.

THEY ALSO CALLED THEIR FRIENDS
Persona didn’t just use what I gave them. They went and cross-referenced me against what they call their “global network of trusted third-party data sources”:
• Government databases
• National ID registries
• Consumer credit agencies
• Utility companies
• Mobile network providers
• Postal address databases

I scanned my passport for a checkmark. They ran a background check."

Director+ product leaders: When it comes to AI, you're not behind. Almost everyone is in the same place.

Elena Luneva and I surveyed leaders across product, engineering, and ops  on one question: how does AI work actually move through your teams?

The short answer: it mostly...doesn't.

83% — ad hoc, chaotic, or inconsistent path from prototype to production.
71% — no formal way to evaluate AI outputs before shipping.
Only 11% — risk review actually embedded in their delivery cadence.

These are not outliers.

The teams aren't struggling with AI. They're struggling with everything around it.

Building is getting cheap. Coherence is getting expensive.

Chipotle's AI bot just helped a customer reverse a linked list in Python. Then asked if they wanted a burrito. That's pretty funny. Until you realize: what would YOUR AI feature do right now if someone asked it something it's not supposed to answer?

Not a jailbreak. Not a prompt injection. Just... a normal human being asking a weird  question. Like they do. (Believe me, at Alexa, we saw it all!)

Someone on your team tested "does it take orders correctly?" Nobody tested "what does it do when a customer asks it something we didn't think about?"

Your product recommendation AI — what happens when someone asks it for medical advice? Does it answer? Confidently? In a way that makes you legally liable?

Your internal assistant — what happens when someone pastes in a customer's SSN and asks a question about their account? Does it process that? Store it?

Your customer support bot — what happens when someone asks it about your competitor's pricing? Does it give a detailed, honest comparison? Including where you lose?

*If you're like 85% of teams building AI features - you don't know.*  Because your evals test what it's SUPPOSED to do. Nobody tested what it's WILLING to do.
                                                
*None of this is a personal or team failure..* We all inherited QA processes that test intended behavior. AI doesn't stay in its lane unless you build the guardrails — and nobody taught us how to anticipate the un anticipatable.

As a Claude Code-pilled Gamma Girlie, I am over the moon! 

Seriously, agentic workflows and Gamma have revolutionized how I create educational content for senior product leaders. I used to bemoan and begrudge the work to keep content up to date with the very latest changes.

For original content, I do a brain dump in Claude on what is essential for product leaders to know, cross-reference it with some perplexity research for anything I'm missing, debate and curate the best content to include, create an outline and drop it into Gamma, with a system prompt that's improved over time so I have to do less and less tweaking...

But what's truly revolutionary... a chron job runs to check for updates that matter.

1."Re-run deep research based on this outline, and tell me if there are any material changes that Director+ product leaders need to know about, and why they matter"
2."Make suggested updates to the outline, and re-create the slides in gamma"
3. "Email me a summary of the relevant updates, proposed outline changes & new gamma slide deck".

Next up - ElevenLabs to re-record any video content when things materially change.  Of course I have oversight/confirmation at each step! But keeping up to date isn't overwhelming anymore.

Two years ago, we made the biggest bet in Gamma's history.

“When everyone is Super, no one will be.” — Syndrome, The Incredibles

Syndrome's plan was simple: give everyone superpowers so that having superpowers means nothing. That's exactly what's happening in AI right now in 2026.

AI tools have given everyone the superpower of building: vibe coding, one-click deployment, and AI-assisted everything. A weekend hackathon can now produce what took a funded team six months not long ago. One-person teams ship what used to require twenty engineers.

The barrier between "I have an idea" and "I have a product" has nearly disappeared. 

So here's the uncomfortable question: if everyone can build, what's actually worth building?

When everyone can build at speed, speed stops being an advantage.
Execution becomes a commodity and a moat.  The same prototype you ship on Monday has three clones by Friday. The AI feature you launched last sprint? An incumbent ships it as a checkbox this sprint. Speed is no longer strategy. It's table stakes.

I've been studying this dynamic closely — analyzing AI startups that raised millions and flatlined despite shipping constantly, AI companies that dominated categories and then watched their moats evaporate in weeks, and the rare few that built durable positions in markets that seemed impossible to defend.

The pattern was clear. The winners weren't the fastest builders. They were the ones who understood what kind of company they were and what market they were actually playing in. They made deliberate choices about where to compete and how to grow — before they wrote a single line of code.

That realization, combined with learning from Reforge, Ravi Mehta, Brian Balfour convinced me that what's missing in the AI ecosystem isn't better tools. It's a better strategic framework for the AI era. 

So I wrote one. Adapted and built on the classic Blue Ocean Strategy. 

AI Ocean Strategy introduces a new model for navigating AI markets. The core idea: In AI markets, you need to know what kind of fish you are before you start swimming.

🔴 Red Fish — execution-first competitors thriving in fierce, crowded markets through operational excellence
🔵 Blue Fish — category creators building demand where none existed
⚪ Neutral Fish — ambidextrous adapters balancing exploitation of what works with exploration of what's next

AI Ocean Strategy sits at the layer above both: the strategic positioning layer where you decide what game you're playing before you build anything.  

Because in a world where everyone is Super — where everyone can build — the question that matters isn't "can you ship?"

It's: are you the right fish, in the right ocean, with the right strategy?

How will you do a bake-off, decide and choose which AI agent platform to implement a given MAS? 

This article is an outcome of intense discussions and thought exercises for an AI agent platform framework which I call the AAA framework. 

The AI agent platform landscape is exploding — but most evaluations still rely on feature checklists.

That’s a problem.

A platform with great multi-agent orchestration but weak deployment maturity may never get past prototype.
 A platform with strong governance but low adaptability may become an expensive chatbot.
 And a platform with broad integrations but weak auditability can become a serious risk.

 I applied the AAA Framework — Autonomy, Automatability, Accountability — as a practical way to evaluate AI agent platforms and products based on what actually matters in production:
Can it operate with the level of independence you need? (Autonomy)
Can it be deployed, integrated, and scaled reliably? (Automatability)
Can it be governed, audited, and trusted at your risk level? (Accountability)

I also compare leading platforms across open-source, enterprise, and hybrid categories using a structured AAA scorecard (with sub-factors, trade-offs, and real-world decision implications).

A few key takeaways:
* There is no universal winner across all 3 A’s
* “Build vs buy” often maps directly to AAA trade-offs
* The biggest gap in many agent initiatives is not demos — it’s the A2 + A3 gap (production readiness + governance)

Applying the AAA Framework: A Comparative Evaluation of Top AI Agent Platforms

When I read the Mar 5 2026 report from Anthropic titled 
"Labor Market Impacts of AI" [https://lnkd.in/gWF2M6Kf], it set off trepidation and future anxiety in me.  

As a white collar AI professional, I cannot brush away the impacts of AI on my and others future work prospects. After all, I am Human (still). 

In my earlier article, https://lnkd.in/gFJ_K5fN I had a rather spicy take on what I called AI anticipation paradox, where I highlighted that companies are making permanent workforce decisions based on temporary assumptions about a technology (AI) that hasn't proven itself. 

The Anthropic report had a more sobering effect that one must prepare for what seems to be inevitable. 
* Companies may start thinking about "Resources" and the Human factor maybe sidelined
* The current clarity of company strategy and business management which has stood the test of time, may devolve into chaos as decisions are made more on potential and promises rather than performance
* Entry level jobs evaporation is more or less certain

Bottom Line: “The first labor shock of AI will not be from automation; it is company management acting as if uncertain capability were already realized value.”

AI may not eliminate work as fast as the hype suggests—but it may distort hiring, judgment, and organizational design much sooner than most leaders realize. 

I have said before that "Hope is not a Strategy" but I do hope that companies adopt a new model that I came up with —the “Nowcasted Organization”—as a more disciplined path for redesigning work, talent pipelines, and governance in an AI-augmented future. 

Then perhaps we can regain some calm and clarity (hopefully).
