I just finished my first real speaking event! But I almost didn't make it to stage...

The past 2 days I was out sick with an awful stomach bug.

I was pretty bummed because I had planned to host a live Identity Activation yesterday for 50 women, and I was worried I wouldn't feel ok for this speaking event. 

Felt like everything was crashing at once. 
Looping thoughts. Couldn't sleep.
My anxiety was on high alert. 

I decided to surrender. 
What was meant to be, would be. 

Before I went to bed, I prayed I'd wake up feeling better. 

I tapped into the feeling of "it's already done", feeling like the event went so smoothly. I envisioned waking up with a fresh wave of energy.

And then it happened. 

Today, I felt better just in time to show up to speak on the Career & Lifestyle Design Panel at Nomad Week in Cape Town.

The panel was a blast... and because I had to reschedule my event to Monday the 2nd, I got to invite every woman in the room building her soul-aligned business, brand, and life to attend my activation too!!

Win-win-win.

Life has a funny way of alwayyyys working out. Especially when you let go of your tight grip of controlling every step and surrender to the flow.

After spending 72 hours running around NYC and then the whole weekend flying to Africa, I finally rebranded my LinkedIn this week to reflect my latest career pivot (or expansion).

I did NOT anticipate the courage it would take to evolve my whole professional identity in 1 giant update.

I'm not new to evolution, but this is my boldest public identity shift yet.

This wasn't a slight tweak, it's full-bodied f*ck yes ownership over what I was put on this planet to do.

And that's terrifying. All sorts of B.S. fears popped up.

I was reminded: 

Your internal identity dictates the professional identity you choose.

You get to choose that narrative that tells people how to perceive you.

First, get clear on your value. 
Then, create the narrative you want people to remember you for.

Now, I am publicly claiming my new professional identity... 

I'm a Business and Leadership Mentor for All In Women building their Living Legacy. I'm not just a coach, I'm an Identity Expander, Scaling Strategist, and Speaker too.

Did I nail it perfectly? 

Probably not. I'll keep iterating over time.

Your professional identity is simply a public draft. You get to keep refining it.

I've actually been struggling to put everything I want to share about this identity shift into words. So I put it into a video... that keeps failing to upload. I'll try again later lol.

But this is important:

Before I could make the external change that everyone can see, I had to give myself permission.

Permission to admit that I had outgrown the "Career Coach" label. 
Permission to explore what wanted to emerge without pressure. 
Permission to sunset my core revenue stream & community. 
Permission to be seen as a beginner again.

Permission to EVOLVE.

As I've been navigating this evolution, I've learned that it's par for the course. Most business owners pivot from their first era of business.

And all women who desire to create global impact at scale require evolution. Not once. But continuously.

I've also seen that most women craving their next level struggle to give themselves the necessary Permission.

I’m living in Cape Town for a month, which was never really in the plan. Here’s how it’s going so far: 

Tbh I have been pretty heads down building out new offers, and it has truly been a blast. 

(Yes, I’m working my tail off while traveling because it lights me up.)

But today I took a break to do wine tasting with a bunch of other travelers. 

I’m here by divine accident. 

Gave up my apartment in NYC mid 2024 as an experiment. 

I was nomading for 6+ months mostly alone before I decided to go to Lisbon on a whim after a wedding. 

I met a few stand out new friend, and a few others we met there convinced us to come to Cape Town in January. 

We kept in touch & now we’re finally here. 

All because I started an experiment. 

It’s crazy how life unfolds when you decide to make different decisions. To honor your desires. To break out of the should’s and the supposed to’s. 

I’m glad I decided to embrace change, uncertainty, and courage. Not once, but over and over. 

I’m glad I decided that it’s okay to outgrow old versions of myself. 

I’ve stopped making change mean “something’s not right” and started seeing it as the #1 constant required to build a life that makes me feel fully alive. 

I’ve given myself full Permission to evolve as many times as I want to. I’m never going to stop. 

I hope you know: 

Wanting to make a change doesn’t mean something’s wrong, it means you’re finally admitting you deserve to feel more alive. 

Nothing wrong with that!

Stop shaming yourself for it & start showing up differently. You deserve to love building your life, your career, your business ; )

Today is the 2-year anniversary of quitting my cushy $180K/year tech job to bet on myself with $0 guaranteed income. Here's how I did it:

(warning: this is pretty vulnerable) 

People have asked me over the years:
"Katy, was it easy to quit your job."

I laughed. HELL NO.

It took delusion, faith, a stack of cash saved up, 8 months building my personal brand, and a helluva lot of courage.

The day before I officially quit, I wrote myself a letter.

I wanted to capture exactly why I was making this massive decision. The scariest of my life so far.

I knew the road ahead would be full of challenges, moments where I'd need to go back to believing in myself, and times of wicked uncertainty.

But I also knew I couldn't NOT do it. It was time, and ignoring that knowing was simply fighting with fear.

I've read and re-read this letter countless times over the past 2 years.

It always reminds me of my deeper why.
It keeps me going when I'm down.

If you've ever made a big scary decision to bet on yourself, I hope you write a letter that captures why you're doing it.

Looking back, it's crazy to me how connected I was to my soul, to God, to my intuition, and to my mission at this time.

I knew I couldn't do this alone, and no part of me wanted to. 

I've always been driven by something greater than myself -- and the times I forgot that along the way were the most challenging moments. 

I'm excited to write more about those mistakes & lessons learned along the way.

My word of the year is TRUTH. The truth is:


I planned to come back on Jan 5th with everything lined up. 

Prepared to floor it. 
New launch ready to go.  
Plans made. Time to execute.

That didn't happen.

In reality, I took a lot more time off over the break than I expected. 

And it was exactly what I needed:

- Best quality family time since childhood 
- Deep 2025 reflections to extract key lessons so I don’t repeat them
- Capacity to experiment on TikTok without pressure to perform
- Reminder of how freaking fired up I am about the new body of work I'm bringing forward & how MUCH powerful women need it

It's the only 2 weeks where the whole world slows down, you might as well let yourself slow down too. 

I wasn't totally off grid though. I still:

- Created trainings for clients in my mastermind
- Started posting 3x/day on TikTok (it's so fun)

None of that feels like work though.

Because my life and business are connected to my Soul Vision. I trust my intuition, deepest desires, and God-given gifts lead me toward the Legacy I was born to build.

The #1 biggest lesson I learned in 2025 surprised me a little. Here it is:

(30 people asked me this in the last 2 weeks)

Everything in your life flows from how much you value yourself. 

Everything. 

- the goals you decide you can take on
- your commitment to that bold vision 
- the standards you set for yourself
- what you decide to put up with
- the income you bring in

The more time you spend believing in yourself and your unique gifts, the more you will share those gifts to add value to the world in a way that makes you feel truly alive. Win-win. 

When you’re deviating from the standard path, you must value yourself enough to proceed through the messy middle. 

To know that your gifts are worth sharing even before the world validates it back to you. 

You must operate from Truth before Proof to create the proof you desire.

At the end of October 2024, I was on the verge of depression.

I had put so much pressure on myself to grow my business month-over-month, deliver flawlessly, and always be available for my clients. 

I was crumbling, and I knew I had some deep rooted blocks.

I met Kiki Neag in a mastermind, and decided to do a session with her to heal my subconscious mind. It was lifechanging. I signed on to work with her.

Over the next 8 weeks, I processed a lot of unhealed lowercase t trauma from childhood, family dynamics. I burned down outdated belief systems and started installing a new identity. 

It felt like 20 years of regular therapy.

Then, I had my biggest launch yet and felt the most alive I'd felt in ages.

1 year later, I still work with Kiki. Not because I need more healing, but because I know I am the only one who can get in the way of my own expansion. 

Kiki is a miracle worker, and she's also become a dear friend (we can't wait to finally meet IRL this year!)

Today, was a full circle moment. I got to bring her gifts to my Limitless Mastermind, a tightknit sisterhood of women building their dream lives, careers, and expanding their capacity for love, success, abundance and joy. 

We tapped to release some deep-rooted blocks in the subconscious and embrace our future selves. 

I can't even believe I get to call this work.

Thank you Kiki for getting visible with your gifts. You've inspired and enabled me to do the same!! 

Y'all — it's insane what can happen in a year when you give yourself Permission to Evolve & decide to confront the internal blockers between you and your Legacy.

Most people will be pretty much the same in 365 days.

Letting go. 

Of the old identity keeping you stuck. 

The beliefs, habits, behaviors, standards that got you here but are now holding you back. 

Sounds easy. Simple. No brainer.

Wrong. 

It’s actually sneaky challenging!!

Because we are hardwired for loss aversion. 

It feels more painful to lose something you have than it does to NOT receive something you desire. Even when we desire change. 

If you want to move faster toward your goals, you must be willing to let go of the old identity that can’t come with you to your next level. 

It’s shedding season baby.

Been sitting with a lot of BIG emotions as I prepare to rebrand my LinkedIn to reflect my next chapter… but it’s time. 

Time to let go
Time to grow
Time to 10x

It’s crazy more people don’t realize this is the key to hitting your goals crazy fast:

(Not just according to me)

Acceleration is about letting go. 

Raising your standards. 
Saying no to what no longer aligns. 
Releasing old habits, beliefs, behaviors. 

When you’re in a season of personal expansion, you must identify what can’t come with you & give yourself full permission to let it go. 

This is the only way to have the capacity required to hold more 

No more…

- choosing the “safe” goals that feel easier 
- being available for everyone all the time
- shaming yourself for your desires 
- scheduling yourself to death 
- leftover good girl energy 
- letting fear hold you back

Sorry. Your future self has arrived. 
She said no more..

When you’re building a brand, business, or career as a reflection of your God-given gifts, you have a responsibility to Go Bigger. Serve more people. Get more visible. 

Your next level doesn’t come from doing the same sh*t, different day. 

It comes from remembering who the hell you already are…. and upgrading your priorities, standards, and prices to match 😉

I wouldn't bet against someone who runs toward failure.

Here's why:

When you fail faster, you succeed sooner.

If you aren't willing to fail, you aren't willing to learn.

Truth is:

Failure is simply feedback.  
You either win or you learn.

You get to decide your perspective of the outcome.

And yet...

The more established you are in your business, your brand, your career, the harder it becomes to re-enter beginner mode.

Your identity as "the expert" keeps you playing it safe.

When you started out, you had nothing to lose.
Now, you have a reputation to uphold...

I've fallen into this trap too.

And it IS a trap, designed by fear to keep you safe. How nice.

Good news: You are supposed to evolve as a leader, which requires becoming a beginner again and again.

I try to remember:

Everything I want is on the other side of brave.

Same goes for you 💛

Your back to back calendar is keeping you caged.

(Sorry to hit you with this on a Monday)

If you don't have any space to think big picture, you won't have any room for big ideas to drop in. And you definitely won't have space to consider when you'd execute them.

This is especially important if you're scaling a business based on your personal brand, that requires you to value YOURself & your skillset more and more. Not just a product you built.

It's all too easy to get caught up in the doing the do when you're growing your biz from 0.

Of course, taking massive action is important. 

But if 100% of your time is going to moving forward today's tasks, you have no capacity to evaluate whether those are even getting you toward your bigger vision.

You could make ONE decision to play at a bigger level and it'd make every other goal on your list irrelevant... you could save 6 months of working on the wrong problem.

If your meetings ARE dedicated toward big picture thinking, great. Even then — it's likely that you're still in such "doing" mode that your priorities will be far closer to today's reality vs. launching you into a new paradigm.

Find space for your mind to contemplate what you really want, and you'll find the most creative ideas pop in.

For me that looks like connecting mind, body, and soul → Meditation, Journaling, Visualization, Silent workouts.
