I would like to think that people will remember me as a nice bloke, who did nice things.

And those nice things are:

- Talking. Think Radio, TV, Events, Podcasts, Lecturing, etc.
- Charity. No one has ever become poor from giving.
- Birmingham. I'm proud to consistently champion this city.

And those nice things were:

- Marketing. Web, digital, social media.
- Law. I genuinely still can't believe that I was an actual lawyer.
- Consultancy. Non-Exec. Board Member. Advisor.

And I've done a lot more bits and bobs.

My main focus currently is:

Radio and broadcasting with the BBC.
Hosting and public speaking through my own business.
And charity (which will always be voluntary).

But I can always do some of the other bits if you think I could help you.

Extensive partnership working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure provision is identified and utilised according to individual and collective student requirements.  Working towards both increased student engagement and enhanced student experience.

BCU Graduate+ Programme Lead

Acting Careers Zone Manager covering a period of maternity leave.  Responsible for the delivery of Careers Advice, guidance and support to students and graduates.  Work with a dedicated and experienced team of Careers Consultants providing a faculty specific and centralised service.  Positive working relationships with both external and internal stakeholders working collaboratively according to need.  Adept at providing timely reports demonstrating both quantitative and qualitative inpact measurements.  Supported team through site relocation to change to working practices.

Acting Careers Zone Manager

Working to support students with their career management. Linked with Education Law and Social Science Faculty whilst also providing generic advice and guidance across the board. Development and delivery of careers and employability workshops with emphasis on confidence, motivation and progression.

Provided a range of training and workshop delivery to a variety of organisations - supporting front line delivery staff and clients according to need.  Consultancy support in developing and testing a range of delivery options for and on behalf of a local Community Interest Company - working with Education, Business, Statutory and non-Statutory organisations.

Prospects

Providing face to face Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to adults in a variety of different locations.  Providing support in group sessions on a variety of topics which can/do include redundancy workshops, interview and return to work strategies etc.

National Careers Adviser

Connexions Worcestershire

Worked through the various stages of Hereford and Worcester Careers Service to Connexions as Careers Adviser and Personal Adviser, respectively.  Worked predominately within local High Schools in Evesham and Bromsgrove, including a Pupil Referral unit.  Promoted to Team Manager of Bromsgrove/Droitwich Connexions in 2003 - worked with a great bunch of dedicated Personal Advisers in supporting, encouraging and motivating young people between the ages of 13-25 to help them move forward positively.  A great priviledge for all concerned.

Motivated individual with a 'Can Do' Approach to life and work. Passionate about working with people and supporting them with their Career planning and the challenges and aspirations associated with this.

Broad experience of working in both public and private sector organisations.  Adept at working within a changing environment whilst looking to ensure that quality of delivery and standards remain high.
