I am on the quest of taming „BAD MEETINGS“. 
With my own, science-based framework I help companies to eliminate unnecessary meetings and make the remaining ones excellent. Most companies burn incredible amount of resources in bad meetings (e.g. a 2 hour ineffective weekly checkup with only 5 participant managers costs you at least 200 lost manhours a year – you do the cost math...). No a podnikám už piaty rok.

Bol to neformálny večer – veľa sme sa smiali, debatovali a tak trochu (aspoň u mňa) dávali nové predsavzatia na cestovanie a cvičenie v roku 2026.

Veľmi dobre mi padlo počúvať podnikateľské príbehy (aj „horory“) od Tatiana Ondrejkova, Zora Czoborová, Lucka Medeková – úspechy, pády, vyhorenia, lásky aj plány do budúcnosti... všetko, čo k podnikaniu patrí.

A to, ako fantasticky večer moderovala Lucia Kočková, ani nemusím zdôrazňovať.

Do you boss your people or do you coach?

This is not a trick question.

Listen, telling people what to do is easy. But asking instead of telling, listening instead of fixing, and giving people space to figure things out… that’s where real leadership growth happens.

Last month, 10 managers kicked off their Leader as Coach journey, and wow, what a start! 

We just wrapped up Module 1: “Shift into a Coaching Mindset to Elevate Your Leadership.”

Here’s what this first step was all about: slowing down to 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. 

We explored ideas like: 

▶️ The 6 leadership styles and why coaching is the least used (yet most powerful) 

▶️ The difference between a Knower (“I already know”) and a Learner (“Let’s figure it out together”) 

▶️ How to tame our inner Advice Monster - you know, the one that jumps in to fix things before others even finish their sentence 

▶️ Building new coaching habits right into our everyday conversations

Every time you coach instead of control, you help someone step up, own it, and grow.

David was a CEO of an alternative investment management company  in Toronto, where I worked in HR.

His company managed 20 billion dollars for pension funds in Canada and the USA.

The most special thing about David?

His INCREDIBLE ABILITY TO LISTEN.

When I run into David in a hallway on a Monday morning, or when I talked with him in a meeting, I felt like nothing else but me existed in the moment.  I felt his undivided attention and focus on what I had to say. 

I knew it because I felt it. And by the way he asked questions and followed up on what I said. 

Another colleague said: when you talk to David - it feels like the universe stopped and he is there just for you.

The thing is, most managers are terrible at listening.

Many actually freely admit this, including last week during Module 3 of Leader as Coach.

✅ Even when you lack the patience to listen to what people have to say.

Listening is a skill and can be learned (if you care).
