3am

My son wakes me up to pee
Once I’m up… I’m up

The house is eerily quiet
But my head is loud

My partner is finishing her master’s
Baby due in 10 weeks
Three other kids ready for sports
They want vacations like their friends

It gets heavy

Not in a woe is me way
In a everyone is depending on me way

Working out helps
Eating right helps

But talking about it with other men helps the most

One dad told me yesterday he cries in the shower..

I mean it can be a lot..

You’re supposed to provide
Not complain
Be the leader

And the in-between moments?
The doubts
The pressure
The am I doing enough?

You keep that to yourself
Because you don’t want to seem weak

And I know I’m not the only one awake at 3am carrying it

If you’re a dad feeling the pressure right now

You’re not alone

We don’t need to be perfect

We just need to keep showing up

Reasons why Ive never been promoted to AE

False promises from leadership 

Needed AE experience 

NOT.. lol

The main reason was/is me

I never wanted it bad enough 

Never focused/understood the business impact

Hit quota but rare for my meetings to lead ACV

Left every company before I could actually consistently show I was ready for promotion 

A lot of running

What im working on today is actually learning the industry, verticals, personas etc

So I can actually outbound with vaule/use-cases that will make sense for their business 

Its not easy but its whats needed to grow

Any other SDR’s yearing for that AE position? 

Lets do it together- hit me up

Tough to admit publicly

But, If I don’t pick up the phone…

Many people I care about suffer

Kids can’t do extra activities

Partner has to shorten her time with our newborn

My boss has to explain why outbound isn’t working.

Fear of rejection on the phone has probably limited my success more than I’ve wanted to admit

Motivation and willpower can usually get me through about 3-6 months of consistency

Then I usually change jobs and continue the pattern somewhere else

But not anymore.

At some point you get tired of yourself.

So I’m starting to work with my old therapist in more of a performance / mindset coaching way

-Stay consistent with outbound even when I don’t feel motivated or confident.

-Get better at handling rejection by not tying my self-worth to outcomes 

-Show up at work with the same discipline, reliability, and presence that I show as a dad and in the gym

-Focus on steady daily execution instead of emotional highs and lows

-Build habits and systems that make consistency automatic instead of relying on willpower

I’m choosing to fight through it with action

For myself, kids, partner, and boss!

Anyone else struggle with rejection this bad?

Made 158k as an sdr in 2025

But People have been pretty blunt with me

And I appreciate it

But I think there is more to the story

I played it safe and didn’t stretch myself 

If I want to make 200k+

I need to be AE

Just by posting over the last 48 hours, I’ve gotten:

• A job offer
• A cold calling accountability group
• Pro bono mindset coaching from a legit coach

The ability to create engagement on LinkedIn seems to be in high demand more than ever

The AEO market is bananas

Is Profound now the leader? My money is on Airops.. 

I vibe coded a simple AI visibility tracker for my company

Right now it’s just a shell:
• Mock data
• Pretty UI
• Board style reporting

The real work still has to happen

To make this actually impactful I still need to:
• Connect real AI APIs (ChatGPT / Perplexity)
• Replace fake metrics with real visibility scoring
• Add Reddit signals
• Build real competitor benchmarking
• Start collecting trend data over time

But it was a good exercise in thinking about GTM differently

Future discovery isn’t just SEO or ads

It’s how often you show up when AI answers questions in your category

I just love being able to go from curious to UI lol

My favorite part is I added Board level report that you can email or download before board meeting to show how you're stacking up in AI search
