Africa keeps asking this question
as if the answer is unclear.

It isn’t.

The cheese didn’t disappear.
It was captured.
Signed away in bad deals.
Extracted through corruption.
Protected by systems that rewarded proximity to power, not service to people.

While citizens were told to be patient,

4 lies you were told about your body (but everyone thinks it’s true)


1️⃣ “If you don't exercise every day, you're not healthy."

This is a gym membership marketing tactic💁🏻‍♀️

Your body doesn't operate on a 24-hour optimization cycle. 

Some days it needs rest. 
Some days it needs gentle movement. 

Ignoring that isn't discipline. Listen to your body. 

2️⃣ “Mood swings are just excuses for your character flaws."

Honey, hormonal shifts alter your neurotransmitters. 
This isn't an opinion. It's biochemistry. 

You're not "too dramatic.”
The fact that no one taught you this is the actual problem.

3️⃣ “Your pain is normal for women."

Let me be clear. Period pain that keeps you in bed, makes you cancel plans, or has you downing painkillers like candy is NOT normal. 

It's normalized. There's a difference. 

Your body isn't supposed to punish you every month, that could be an underlying condition. And anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

4️⃣ “You're a strong woman. You’ll be fine”

Strength isn't white-knuckling through hell alone. That's martyrdom. 

And it's exactly what keeps you stuck.

I just hosted brunch for women who thought they were dramatic for feeling their own pain💙

📍 Building for equity isn't a checkbox.

If health tech solutions only works for the “ideal woman” then it's not a solution. 

It's exclusion with an app interface. 
Real innovation means designing for what is necessary and not just what is possible. 

📍 Workplaces need data, not just empathy.

"You're overreacting." "It's just stress." 
Women hear this at work. 

But if we want real workplace policies that support women's health then we need data that shows the impact.

When organizations can see patterns in productivity, absenteeism, and retention tied to hormonal chaos, women's health becomes a business priority, not just a "nice to have." 

That's data-driven advocacy. That's how we create sustainable change. 

These aren't just talking points for me. They're the foundation of how I'm building, and why conversations like this one matter.

Women's health is not a pity party. Why are we still dancing to this?


We need to stop treating women's health like it's a charity case.

We are not a niche. We are not a "special interest group." 

We are not an emotional outburst that needs to be managed with head pats.

We are half the global population.

When the women on your team can't function at full capacity because their bodies are in chaos, that's not a women's issue.

That’s an infrastructure crisis.

But instead of building health systems that work for women, we get medicalized gaslighting wrapped in concern.

And when we push back? When we demand answers, support, real solutions?

We're "too emotional." 
We're "difficult patients." 
We're "making it a bigger deal than it is." 
We need to “be strong”

And we keep giving the world our labor, our intelligence, our capacity, while getting little in return except the privilege of "leaning in" through the pain.

We need to talk about menstrual health, PCOS, Endometriosis, and PMDD at work. 

Not as add-ons. 
Not a side conversation. 
Not something we address after we fix "professional” problems.

These are professional problems. 

How long would we keep building a world on the backs of people whose bodies we refuse to understand or support?

We are empowered, now we need to be supported. 
Not because we’re too fragile, but because it’s biology.
