After five intense years of running my successful million-dollar design agency, I hit a major roadblock. Burnout didn't just knock on my door—it barged right in and left me bedridden for three days straight. I didn't want to get up or face the world. Lying there, I thought to myself, "Okay, this is enough."

The next day, I made the tough decision to let go of all my employees. I knew I needed a break—a real one—to rethink my priorities and figure out what I truly wanted in life.

It felt like I slammed a giant reset button, letting out a big sigh that carried away years of stress and unspoken worries.

Growing up in France as a shy Asian kid in a mostly Western culture, I often felt like I didn't quite fit in. I was quiet and kept to myself. Design became my safe space—a way to express my creativity without having to say a word. But deep down, I was super ambitious, always juggling side projects and trying to "build something" meaningful.

That constant drive helped me achieve a lot, but it also led me straight into burnout.

As I lay there, I couldn't help but wonder: How does our mind work? How can I bounce back? How can I make sure this never happens again?
Those questions sparked an inward journey—a deep dive into understanding the mind and all its amazing potential. I realised that overcoming burnout wasn't just about resting; it was about transforming my mindset. I learned tools and techniques to not only help me get back but also be a better version of myself—stronger, wiser, and happier.

I believe everyone deserves to know how to utilise their mind to its fullest.

Jellypepper is an award-winning digital agency for disruptive startups. I started Jellypepper in 2017 in an effort to explore the world a bit more, see how different industries and people worked. We worked with startups in self-driving car tech, AI, biotech, crypto, drone delivery, cybersecurity and even orbital (outer space) logistics. Jellypepper was acquired in 2023 by Raw Studio.

Spaceship started in mid-2016 as a technology-focused superannuation fund (if you’re not from Down Under, superannuation is a bit like a 401k pension plan) that “invests where the world is going, not where it’s been”. I joined Spaceship in September 2016 to head up design and product, working closely with the COO. Soon after, we raised $1.6M from Atlassian’s Mike Cannon-Brookes and ShowPo’s Jane Lu, then in June the next year raised $19.5M from NEA, Sequoia Capital and Valar Ventures.

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Palantir into their intern program in late 2015 at their Palo Alto HQ. I was part of a small team tasked with designing a novel solution for a Government customer. During my internship, I worked closely with their Engineering, Strategy and Research teams; designed a node-based graphing system with histogram, object and document viewer; and produced interactive, animated prototypes to sell new concepts to the wider team.

Sumry is help you land your dream job by interweaving your unique story with your professional achievements. Here, I learned to ideate, design, build and launch a real product. I was also fortunate enough to dabble in customer support. My focus was designing and implemented an entirely new user interface and platform from ground up, built on Angular. I also spent a lot of time refining the logo, colour palette, social media and overall brand identity.

While I was in university, I co-founded Gunmetal - an independent web design and development studio. During this time, we had the privilege of working with a range of clients from startups to clothing brands and even big corporate and entertainment companies. Some of our clients included Vimbra, Trekalo, Ryzer, Wild Animal Encounters and National Geographic Channel.

MindArc Digital Agency

I worked at MindArc as an automation engineer and Magento developer for a short while. I was primarily tasked with rebuilding Magento themes from ground up and creating helpful scripts, however I also worked on some of the client sites. Some of these include famous e-commerce sites like Hello Molly and ShowPo. I also redesigned the MindArc homepage from the ground up.
