Humility is a great teacher.

Humility earned through arrogance is painful but nonetheless effective. I know this from experience.

As a leader of a recruiting firm, I was controlling, untrusting, and frightened. My behavior nearly cost me everything. Yet through a pivotal experience on a non-profit board, I witnessed something transformative: the power of collaborative leadership and conflict resolution.

We achieved outcomes no single faction could have accomplished alone. By listening to detractors not to convince but to understand, we turned critics into collaborators.

This lesson hit home when one of my employees challenged my boneheaded response to a crisis. Her simpler approach, which I resisted, proved far more effective. In that moment, theory collided with reality, showing me that intellectual understanding alone is never enough.

Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating conditions where great ideas thrive and others can step into leadership.

I’m a biomedical scientist and entrepreneur with 25+ years of international experience spanning virology, cancer research, developmental biology, stem cell research, neuroscience, behavioral science, and computational modeling. My work bridges scientific rigor, applied technologies, and practical solutions to address complex challenges in mental health and addiction recovery.

𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁:
I’m fascinated by how biological systems (especially genetic, epigenetic, and neuroplastic mechanisms) interact with environmental influences to shape development, vulnerability, and resilience. Early life factors, including prenatal and preconception environments, play a critical role in long-term functioning and guide my approach to personalized mental health interventions.

𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱:
I’ve worked with preclinical models (biochemistry, cell culture, animal behavior), human clinical research, and computational approaches using large datasets and AI analytics. My research has been published in high-impact journals, recognized with awards and grants in Europe and the USA, and presented widely in scientific and public forums. I continue to engage in education, writing, and speaking.

I have led ventures spanning nurturing environments, biotechnology, behavior modeling, and health tech. As founder and CEO of Objective Recovery, I combine neuroscience and digital technology to create personalized, effective solutions for problematic substance use. Our podcast shares evidence-based education, personal transformation stories, and practical tools for lasting change.
