As a solution architect, my duties are to design the architecture of SAP PI, and another integration tool, using the best practices recommended, mainly by SAP. 

In terms of project life cycle, I gather the requirements during fit gap sessions, identify the complexity of the interfaces and possible constraints, estimate the effort required, and assign them to the right consultants. Always tracking the progress, and support the consultants in complex design/build challenges. Supervise and support the test phase (UT, SIT, UAT, and Regression tests). Preparation of cutover plans as well as hypercare organization are the responsibilities during go live phase, building a new procedure based on 4-eyes approach. 
During this period, I was the Solution Architect responsible for the integration of SAP with Ecommerce platforms, such as Hybris, ARIBA CRM webshop and EDI.

SAP PI/PO Solution Architect

As a SAP PI Consultant, my duties were to translate the requirements into Functional designs and build the solution, drive the test life cycle during UT, and support the SIT, UAT, and Regression tests. During this time I had the chance to participate in really challenging projects, like integration of SAP with Hybris and ARIBA, and integration between HCM system and 3rd party providers around the world. I took part as well in integration of SAP with Success Factors, legacy tools with CRM, integration between MDM and different systems that require master data.

All these different scenarios and integration methods provided me the opportunity to gather a vast knowledge of all the possibilities that SAP PI provides, like AXIS adapter to have REST services, PGP encryption for transfer secure information, development of custom adapter modules to grant more functionalities to the standard adapters, developing servlets in the Web Application Server of PI and also really complex JAVA mappings that take mapping decisions dynamically.

Participating in the migration between 7.11 to 7.31 give me the chance to learn how to configure the Idoc AAE for multiples repositories and clients, as well as getting a good practice in organizing and creating all the SLD and SWC. Overall, it was more than a migration, it was a redesign of the previous solution.
