I noticed patterns early, wanted military school at 14, got drawn into a modeling scam at 16. I always wanted to be the best in whatever seemed interesting, I’ve led countless collective projects and initiatives, was fully into law studies and ultimately chose sociology. 
In my 20s, I chose startups that my gut signaled insane growth: fast-growing, pioneering consumer hardware throughout unicorn stage, global hyperscaling while moving in 7 countries. Nonlinear path.

this week is all about women in the startup world 🍸❤️‍🔥

i am happy to see how much the ecosystem evolved over yearsss and countless narrative around diversity and leadership in business and if I think what reality could look like in 10 years is hopefully close to closing the equity gap (there’s still a lot to do but we got thiiiis 💪)

With these incredible females, we ended up chatting for 1h at the reception 🤝 (thanks Agata for the invite to Female Foundry Female Index Fund’s launch)  

women are still underrepresented in business and VCs (about 17% of VC decision makers) 

To share from my 2 cents, I think the problem comes from the fact that women are educated completely different than men and mostly the gap comes from attitude and perspective towards our roles in contributing to society. 

Girls are raised to think domestic work is more rewarded than societal output and boys are raised to think the way around when it fact, both are equally important 🔑

There is enough capital in the world for both women and men.

What we don’t have enough of yet is education and more practice about how different people experience life, risk, leadership, and business.

For years, the conversation has centred on how little funding goes to women. The number often quoted was ~2% for all-female founding teams. 

That statistic matters, but beyond capital allocation, there’s a deeper layer: access to skills, confidence, networks, and financial literacy.

I will always support women stepping into more courage, more education, stronger commercial, technical, operational, financial skills, greater psychological resilience, and ultimately, greater financial capability.

Freedom expands when more women control capital and systems change when more of us sit at decision-making tables.

But I’ve always and will continue to challenge the idea that to be great, women need to become more like men. 

We don’t. 

Women are powerful as women, men are powerful as men, leadership is not about gender performance and dynamics can be changed when we learn how to respect each others skills and space. 

Leadership at its core is self trust expressed outwardly through capability to take decisions and how those decisions will affect others, collectives. 
Leadership was never about individual gain, but service and if it ever is, the gain is fulfillment that you did something that worked for more. 

A woman is not “masculine” because she is decisive, a woman or a man is simply effective as a leader. 

The future of business isn’t women imitating men.
It’s individuals, of any gender, fully developing their own strengths, skills, and psychological capacity. 

Society is in our responsibility, for both women and men.

part 2 on it really does take time to find alignment with other people 

The way I’ve analysed it so far in 30 years, I really don’t think women need empowerment, just less interference. 

I don’t have right now other ways of saying this to land much softer. 
In my own founder experience so far, I found the word female attached to founder in time performative and it took me a while to understand why is that, why there’s something unsettling in me on this narrative.

I found out why. I have a strong conviction that all people are capable, history proves it over and over again. I love seeing women in leadership acting like they own their field, their work, their efforts with no conditions attached to the gender, but their leadership capability and growth. 

As a founder, I’ve never been more self conscious of my own gender until I became a founder and that I find it interesting. 
Because it’s not my natural state to question myself if I should do something like a man or a woman, but since I became a founder, I almost acquired this negative pressure of having to be a founder in a certain way just because I am a female. 

I’ve said it before here a few times, in my own experience, most times strangers perceive me aggressive. Working in male dominated environments, with my male peers, that same trait was never perceived aggressive, but efficient or sharp. 
I never strategised my own way of working, it’s simply how I lived since I’ve been a kid (now I get why everyone told my grandma I should be a lawyer 😅) 

I refuse to internalise that gender unnecessary pressure. All my life I studied all things humans related. Most gender studies come as an effect of conditioning beliefs. 

I can’t highlight enough how great it was on Friday with Lumina House to hear Yee, Fiona and Yvonne talk with such candor, straight to the point.

•if a woman wants to launch a rocket, she’s perceived naive. if a man says the same thing, he’s given the resources.

we gathered around a biiiig table to have the first Social Village Lab of Inner On in London, thanks to Ramen Space and Charlie Ward. 

Curiosity was in the room.

We explored the theme “Talking to machines in the AI era” and how we people actually use AI, what it changes in the way we think, relate, and create.

I’m really happy people enjoyed it.

As the sun starts showing up again, so will more outdoorsy, novel experiences 🛝

Most of them happen in intimate living room settings where we hold a simple principle: what’s shared in the room stays in the room. psychological safety first.

Lately I was asked why do I do so much? 

i go to all sorts of business events. 
i do so much, that’s true because i am rebuilding my life, my future, my own business in a way that’s not in a comfortable industry, but it is my way and it is a way where i learn so much because it’s what i care about. 

i’ve been in the role of expert, but that isn’t a role you take for granted that it stays that way just because you have past experiences. 

the world is moving faster than we want and it can’t be denied. 

it’s beautiful to learn from other people, to hear their own experiences, to exchange ideas and even have debates. 
what’s the worst thing that can happen from meeting new people? they won’t like and you won’t interract much with them anymore, pretty simple. 

i do so much because it’s all in my responsability and i need to make things happen. 
i do so much because i truly like to interract with people in different spaces, not always of course, but when you want to really get humans, the only that can be done is to be amongst people. 

i am building a product that is personal to human life and fulfillment, nervous system dictates everything from our daily life and work to domestic relationships and decision making. 
mental health is easy to discuss it in a podcast, but a taugh cookie to solve or approach in real life. 

there are other ways of course, but how would i build my resilience more and get to my own mastery if i wouldn’t accept to also be a beginner and do things first, in my way and on this course, you learn more ways, you meet other people with other ways etc. 

truly never stop learning or think you know it all. not everything is comfortable, but that’s the idea.

diary entry: thoughts on IWD that’s tomorrow 🪐💭

I’ve always taken more pride in being a human than a woman. Feminist since I was a kid pushing back on any gender limitations and winning every debate about women and our position in society and yet, this year, I feel.. a bit off.

There’s so much performative narrative around it. Beautiful posts, even though the reality for most women feels completely different.

What I want to see more of?

Casual, real support between women, less competition. There’s something that we can learn from men and that is a more relaxed approach, being more friendly in business. That’s why it works amongst them. 
I notice it sometimes the quiet comparison, the polite nods and fake smiles hiding the pinch of “why not me?” I see it, I feel it, and I refuse to let it shape the energy between us.

More access to financial capital and less unpaid work (be it domestic or public all kinds from business and all industries), education, research, healthcare and confidence to get the access. More opportunities to grow into leadership or into any ability we want to invest in.

More acknowledgement, less comparison. mooore cooperation, less “who’s doing it better” that’s driving the course in way too many situations I’ve observed. 

Just me noticing what’s missing and dreaming a little of what could be.

💛 here’s to making it real, beyond only a narrative! 
there will be enough posts talking about the number we all know, but BEYOND those number is our own human behaviour and calling out what needs to be called out leads to the future we all dream about 🍸

entry of a founder diary (number I stopped counting).. building a business it’s less about building a product and more about facing yourself. 

you face your shortcomings way more than your best assets, actually when do you use your best assets? 😵‍💫🪅

for me:
	•asking for help has always been hard. not because i don’t need it, but because self-reliance was my normal. learning to lean is still a work in progress.

	•sharing what i do before it’s done? not my default. I show after, when it’s complete. for a user-facing product, that’s a disadvantage. trust grows in the messy, incremental progress, not in perfection. my brain still expects trust to just… exist just because I have that trust inside 😂 but that’s not how things work in consumer or anything user facing. 

	•following the surface-level chatter? not me. I get restless, I get irritated by “no, that’s impossible” or “impress me” conversations. but when people speak freely, when they’re raw, I thrive and I hope my natural way of carrying myself makes them feel safe enough to do the same. In my experience, the authenticity that’s so often talked about nowadays is both asset and challenge. 

Point is: imperfection is universal, perfection is relative. Nuance is everything, being a founder doesn’t come with a recipe. it’s trial, reflection, iteration and sometimes, just showing up as yourself and hoping other people will see through the vision and join the movement. 

Sure, there are hacks, tricks, games. but the real work? facing yourself, daily.

feet up on the table, it’s time to share 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️

I was asked 3 days ago what is Inner On IRL Socials about and it made me think it’s time to share a little story. 

Inner On came out as a response from seeing too much not actually working in crises to getting to the rootcause of this complex systematic problem that it’s named mental health (even though I disagree with the name).

I want to see everyone thrive and everyone wants to thrive, but we weren’t told it starts with our own internal performance, not external. Our mind and body is the machine that blocks or unblocks eveeeerything. 

what IRL Socials is? The offline strand of Inner On where strangers come together to learn and bond socially together through conversations in different formats and different topics, some more taboo than others, some spaces more intimate than other wider ones. 

What a lot of people that met me this year while building Inner On don’t know is that I’ve been a trainer since I was 15, back then I was part of a social campaign and I was doing workshops in schools about girls menstruation and puberty problems. 

A few years ago during Covid times, after the best years building Lime in EMEA, I went to Tanzania and partnered up with United Nations the local chapter to teach in schools about sexual education, gender health and healthy interraction between girls and boys. 
 
Me opening the boxes about topics that are usually avoided is probably in my DNA 😅

Last week we hosted the first Village Social Lab, the topic of Connection in the AI age wasn’t the most taboo, but for sure the panel was challenged with the questions so we can approach it from all sides, without polarising. 

More to come from April onwards, for now I’m in laser focus on the tech side of Inner On 
App will get out this year, with a Cofounder or without! 

I’m asking myself if I should document more my experience with vibecoding? right now I’m all over the place.

okaaay time to shift things up. I’m getting into laser focus time more, i need to get on top of all things Inner On but especially the tech side. 

I’ve been horrible with my inbox here and everywhere as so much in the last 2 months was about the irl side of Inner On, the last 2 events, other tech events and working on the architecture design of the app in silence. 

I don’t know about others, but I definitely work best in sprints. When I try to be everything all at once, I end up failing in a unproductive way and it doesn’t work for me. 

I’ll reshuffle the focus for the next weeks to the app and in April, I’ll get the next sprint of events in to welcome spring and gather peopleeee for the best social experiences 🏄🏻‍♀️

And since I know in the next weeks I won’t socialise as much as compared to the last 9 months, I went into a shop to get some painting tools to channel my attention in a flow state. 

It’s not like I was sitting on the floor to look for things 😅

last week I went for the 1st time to a Lumina House event and I loved the radical candor the panel had (thanks Celine for the invite ✨) 

I’ll be talking more about the last months now that this next few weeks is more alone work type.
