I've been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember. 

In 1989, my family and I escaped a war torn Iran to a refugee camp in Erlangen, Germany. That's when I got my first entrepreneur gig. I negotiated with the owner of a local swimming pool to get paid 10 Pfennig per beer bottle I brought back to the owner, as a way of cleaning up after people who were getting drunk by the pool. 

In my 20's, after honorably discharging from the US Army at the 101st Airborne division, I got into financial services with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter a day before 9/11. I went from a regular advisor to running a multi million dollar a year business by 2009 with Transamerica. That's when I decided to start a financial firm, marketing retirement and life insurance products to families. With our unique marketing approach, we've now grown from 66 agents out of one office in Northridge, California to over 12,000 agents in nearly 49 states. 

My passions are reading books, politics, philosophy and startup entrepreneurship. 

I'm the host of "Valuetainment", the #1 channel on youtube for Entrepreneurs with 1.7 million subscribers with a few billion minutes watched.

Interpret project designs to determine project scope, fabrication and construction site requirements. Estimate materials and hardware required for project execution. Generate specifications and shop drawings for custom cabinet and millwork assemblies; create CNC manufacturing programs using various software. Create drawings for site installation and client approval. Manage project records and process change orders. Manage project requirements from design through to final installation.

Audit take offs to confirm accuracy of specifications. Order millwork and hardware components from vendors. Visit jobsites to confirm completed work, complete service orders, and work with clients to resolve issues. Work with clients, sales, design and shop/site teams to deliver best in industry experience for clients.

My greatest accountability is keeping things simple for our clients, while keeping everything moving forward toward completed projects. I work with our partners to ensure quality remains our priority, whether that's fundamental product quality or reliability in our scheduling. This keeps everyone honest and everyone knows what to expect. Keeping the lines of communication clear is really how we execute our work in a timely fashion, and moves surprises out of the way. I am managing several contracts every month, from demolition through to completion and release for final payment, with varying project budgets. The scope of our work can range from basic box store installations, up to custom level millwork projects, in detached homes as well as multi residential settings. I'm focused on building a highly skilled team who takes care of each other, appreciates the value of their craft, and who understand the importance of taking care of our clients, with the view of creating strong relationships and building ongoing success for business operations.

Construction services, project management, business development and sales, contract negotiation and marketing.  Focus of work is in installation of custom Ikea kitchens, walk in closet systems and bathroom vanities. Warranty service for Ikea products in HRM.

Working within a commercial project environment as part of a focused and dedicated team, provide leadership for the assembly/breakout department, build cabinet and fine woodwork components, operate CNC machinery & solid wood milling equipment, expedite product through to finishing department (including applying finishes), and work to develop effective quality assurance measures.  Developing inventory control measures to improve raw material yield, maintain tool inventory and arrange for repairs.  Coordinate shipping of finished product, work with technical department to solve production related issues, and maintain drawings, project, and payroll records.  Complete commerical construction site installations and service work (throughout Atlantic Canada), working with other trades as well as client project teams.

Notable projects include those completed for Quicken Loans Arena (Cleveland, Ohio), USMC (Virginia), T-Mobile HQ (Washington State), the new DALPLEX, SMU Arena, and new Emera HQ (Halifax).

Reporting to senior management, lead and direct the daily operations of the fabrication and service shop, as well as warehouse shipping and receiving.  Accountabilities include developing work orders and planning production, quality management, employee performance management and discipline, plant maintenance, shop and service parts inventory, stock supply sales, in-shop and emergency service, occupational health and safety, as well as product and process improvements.  Work with installation, customer service and sales departments to ensure orders are produced with a zero backorder rate.  Work with raw material and parts vendors to ensure seamless supply chain in maintaining production input requirements.  Work on special projects as well as preparing products for laboratory and code compliance testing.  Fulfill the role of Production Manager in their absence.

Reporting to senior management, lead fabrication activities, expedite work in progress and adjust daily work flow to meet client requirements and project schedules, in a design|build environment (high end residential and commercial projects, up to seven figure value).  Working to high standards of quality, guided by ISO 9001 and AAMA quality control systems, conduct team training and in-process audits of glazing and architectural millwork.  OH & S leadership and documentation, as per company and government requirements.  Execute product development projects and contribute to business development initiatives. Plan and develop build processes, materials and resource allocation for commercial projects, working to implement change orders as required; collaborate with team members to execute work, and work with stakeholders to deliver excellence to end users.  Devise process improvements contributing to operations efficiency, cost reductions, lean operations initiatives, and process standardization methods.  Perform equipment preventive maintenance, repairs and inventory management.  Complete progress reports and use engineering drawings in execution of all work completed.

Senior/Leading Architectural Fabricator and Glazier

Reporting to the Foreman, perform daily receiving, inspection, order processing/picking and stocking of inventory for internal and external customers.  Preparation and shipping of parts orders to service technicians and dealer network.  Perform regular inventory cycle counts, issue inventory alerts, as well as raw material non conformance and production reports.

Oxford Frozen Foods Ltd.

Worked in a fast-paced production environment that operated on rotating 12-hour shifts.  Assembled shipping containers including bags, boxes and plastics, palletized  units to ready for track movers.  Operated a control panel which controlled conveyor belts and hopper assembly.  Operated industrial scales to weigh finished products.

Printed package labels and placed on containers for warehousing.  Maintained warehouse records and produced production reports for management.  Cleaned and maintained immediate work areas.
Assisted plant tradesmen as needed.  Worked at heights and in confined spaces on a regular basis.
Operated within Canadian Food Inspection Agency, HACCP and ISO requirements and guidelines.
