My LinkedIn feed is filled with copywriters desperate to find work. 

People say AI can’t replace human writing. 

Most folks say they use AI for ideation, feedback, etc, but not to actually *do the writing*. 

Maybe. 

But I’m seeing so much terribly boring, formulaic, insipid marketing copy and LinkedIn posts that I’m thinking the correlation is real:

Human writers are losing jobs to AI. 

We just aren’t admitting it yet because it feels icky to say. 

But I’ll die on this hill: 

Strong writing is now—and will always be—the number one trait I look for when hiring for my team. 

Because great writing is a massive differentiator in AI’s sea of sameness. 

Don’t sleep on the humans.

💥 We don’t know if the economy is about to tank. 

But we do know this: 

PR isn’t a “nice to have” that can be cut to save costs any more. 🔪

Not this time. 

As CEO Gregory Galant of Muck Rack  correctly notes, PR is no longer just “brand-building”: 

It’s a performance channel. 

Large Language Models like ChatGPT heavily favor *earned media* in their answers to your questions.

👋 PR pros: Don’t sleep on earning niche/industry coverage for clients. 

And this part is important AF:

All LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude, *do not cite earned media equally*. 

To wit: According to a study by Muck Rack, ChatGPT tends to cite large, mainstream publications in its answers. 

Meanwhile, Claude favors: 

-smaller pubs
-niche trade outlets 
-specialized media sources  

That’s a HUGE distinction. 

Another key point, according to Muck Rack: Claude defines “recency” differently

“ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude all have a bias toward recent content.

But the way they define ‘recent’ differs:

Claude has a citation sweet spot in the past 10 weeks, whereas ChatGPT shows a sharp citation drop-off after about one week. 

If ChatGPT rewards immediate visibility, Claude rewards sustained relevance…

For PR teams, this suggests:

✔️Coverage doesn’t “expire” as quickly in Claude’s ecosystem

✔️Stories published 2-4 weeks ago still have a strong influence

✔️A consistent drumbeat of earned media over several weeks may have a different impact compared to one big moment,” Muck Rack says. 

One thing is clear: earned media is more important than ever as LLMs gain prominence over traditional SEO. 

Final thought: 

**It’s critical for marketing & PR partners to use actionable, fluid data to win the visibility game over the long haul.

DO: Hire a PR agency when you prioritize it as a key business driver. 

Because it is.

Initial focus was building the marketing strategy, team, and processes from the ground up in the first six months and executing the first Fyuz event. After building out the foundational marketing programs, my focus was on creating and alignment between technology, membership and sales to execute on marketing campaigns that would become repeatable and predictable from a membership perspective. The next chapter is rebranding the company from the inside out and ground up so we're seen the testing and certification authority that we are. 4 weeks ago, gave a TEDx talk!!!

Standing on the stage at TEDx Mizner Boulevard was one of those moments where your brain quietly says:

“How on earth did I get here?”
Because the story actually starts very far from a TED stage.

I was born in communist Russia, where freedom wasn’t a right. It was contraband.

Years later, someone placed a computer in front of me for the first time.
Black screen.
Blinking cursor.
That machine didn’t make me technical.
It made me unafraid to try first and then build.

That moment eventually led to 24 patents, decades in telecom leadership, and eventually founding my own company.

My TEDx talk is about the idea that came out of that journey.
Innovation has never really been about technology itself.
It has always been about giving ordinary people superpowers.

Let me say something uncomfortable.
Women talk about support.

And we don’t always practice it.

We say “empower women.”

And we hesitate to share contacts.

We celebrate equality.

And we compete quietly.

We want visibility.
And sometimes we withhold it from each other.

That has to change.

This year’s theme for #InternationalWomensDay is Give To Gain.

And it’s not soft.
It’s a challenge.

Because giving is not just donating money.
Giving is giving credit.
Giving introductions.
Giving sponsorship.
Giving real opportunities.
Giving budget.
Giving visibility when it costs you something.
Giving support.

That’s the part no one likes to talk about.

When we give intentionally, ecosystems grow.
When we hoard, rooms shrink.

If we want gender equality, we can’t just post about it once a year.

We have to amplify each other.
We have to recommend each other for the room, not just clap from the sidelines.

Giving is multiplication.

When one woman rises, the ceiling lifts a little higher for all of us.

So here’s the real question:
Who are you actively supporting this year?
Who did you introduce?
Who did you celebrate?
Who did you fund?
Who did you promote?

Because equality isn’t built on slogans.
It’s built on action.

Strike the Give To Gain pose.
Open hands. Open heart.
But more importantly, open doors.

That’s power, procurement, and governance.

Gen AI for Business edition #98: Spring is Here

Last week in AI revealed a structural shift that many people are missing.
For the past two years, the conversation has centered on one question: who has the best model?

But the latest announcements suggest something deeper is happening.
AI is becoming infrastructure.

OpenAI:
-- released GPT-5.4, its newest frontier model designed for complex professional tasks. On benchmarks, it scored 57.7% on SWE-Bench Pro for software engineering, 82.7% on BrowseComp, and 92.8% on the GPQA Diamond science benchmark. 
-- The company also introduced Codex Security, an AI agent designed to detect software vulnerabilities, and 
-- launched ChatGPT for Excel, which allows users to analyze spreadsheets using natural language while connecting to financial data providers like FactSet and Moody’s.

At the same time, the competition is accelerating on efficiency and cost.
Google released Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, designed to deliver responses about 2.5× faster and generate output roughly 45% faster than earlier Gemini models, with pricing starting at $0.25 per million input tokens.

Alibaba also released Qwen 3.5 small models ranging from 0.8B to 9B parameters. In some benchmarks, the 9B model reportedly outperformed systems with more than 120B parameters, highlighting how efficiency is becoming a competitive frontier.

But the biggest signals this week came from infrastructure.

Nvidia introduced AI models designed to monitor and manage telecom networks, helping detect failures and automate network operations.

Huawei announced a new AI-native network architecture that includes agent layers capable of automating telecom management, with forecasts suggesting that up to 15% of network decisions could be handled autonomously by AI agents by 2028.

Governments are now responding as well.

The White House announced a Ratepayer Protection Pledge signed by Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Meta, and OpenAI. Under the pledge, companies building large AI data centers must pay for electricity grid expansions instead of passing those costs to residential ratepayers.

Meanwhile, research shows AI is already reshaping work:

-- A study cited by Scientific American found that developers using AI coding tools produced 27% more merged code changes and nearly 20% more after-hours commits. 
-- A separate survey of nearly 5,000 developers reported that more than 90% now use AI tools, and over 80% say they improve productivity, though many also reported increased debugging after releases.

Adoption globally is still uneven.
Japan is investing ¥340 billion in subsidies to accelerate AI adoption as it prepares for a projected labor shortage of 11 million workers by 2040. Yet today only about 8.4% of workers in Japan report using AI at work.

The AI race is no longer just about building better models.
It’s about controlling the infrastructure around them: energy systems, developer ecosystems, enterprise workflows, and the industries where AI actually runs.

This story says a lot about the moment we’re in with AI.

A week ago, the Pentagon and Anthropic had a very public breakdown over safety terms. Anthropic wanted contractual guarantees that its models would not be used for domestic surveillance or fully autonomous weapons. 

The Pentagon refused those limits and labeled the company a “supply-chain risk,” triggering agencies to start removing its technology. 

Then something interesting happened.

OpenAI stepped in and signed a Pentagon agreement that includes guardrails like prohibitions on intentional domestic surveillance and requirements for human responsibility in the use of force. Sometimes these massive geopolitical shifts aren't about grand strategy; they're about who gets to say "I'm in charge."

And now… Anthropic and the Pentagon are back at the table trying to work out a deal. 

To me, this shows two things.

1️⃣ First, standing for what you believe in still matters. Anthropic took a very public position about safety constraints. Whether people agree or not, the stance triggered a real debate about how AI should be used in national security. By being the "difficult" one, they actually forced a conversation about what military AI looks like that wouldn't have happened otherwise. They made the Pentagon blink, even if the Pentagon used that blink to sign a check to their rival.

2️⃣ Second, the public reaction was immediate. Many users started openly discussing switching tools and canceling subscriptions when the Pentagon deals became public. When technology becomes infrastructure, people start paying attention to the values behind it.

And let’s be honest… once OpenAI accepted terms that looked very similar to what Anthropic had been arguing for, the standoff suddenly looked less ideological and maybe a little more… human.

Sometimes in negotiations, it’s not just policy that gets bruised.
Sometimes it’s egos.

The real test now isn’t the press releases.
It’s whether safety commitments show up as technical controls, audit logs, and enforceable contract language, not just principles on a blog.

That’s the difference between AI governance as messaging and AI governance as infrastructure.

Only the future will tell if these contracts actually change how AI is used in defense, or if they are mostly optics.

In a land not so far from Myrtle Beach, the kingdom built higher walls. 🏰

Firewalls.
Security towers.
Watchmen scanning the horizon.

Then a new kind of magic arrived.

Agentic AI.

It promised to defend the castle from wolves powered by their own dark magic.

And the kingdom was eager.
Ivanti’s 2026 report shows 87% of security teams prioritize agentic AI, and 77% are comfortable letting it act without human review.

But here’s the Grimm’s fairy tale twist.

To protect the castle, the wizard must see everything.

The hidden tunnels.
The weak stones in the wall.
The guard schedules.
The vault blueprint.

Security AI agents require access to vulnerability scans, security logs, identity data, network maps, and incident playbooks.

If that wizard is compromised, the wolf doesn’t need to break in.

He already has the map.

Meanwhile, 77% of organizations have already faced deepfake attacks, yet only 27% feel very prepared.

We are handing powerful magic to exhausted guardians.

AI in security isn’t the villain.

If you want to understand where large-scale systems are going, look at the Winter Olympics.

Milano Cortina 2026 was effectively a temporary, AI-enabled digital city:
– 40 venues
 – 22,000 square kilometers
 – 3,000+ athletes
 – ~1 million connected devices

At that scale, traditional IT operations fail.

Humans cannot detect, diagnose, and remediate network issues in real time across thousands of endpoints. The infrastructure must be AI-native.

More than 4,900 wireless access points, 1,500 switches, 70+ routers, next-generation firewalls, and AI-driven monitoring platforms formed a resilient networking backbone.

On the broadcast side, cloud-scale AI pipelines supported content production and distribution. 
On the ground, on-device translation reduced latency and improved reliability in high-density environments.

Cybersecurity was not an afterthought. With ransomware and hacktivist threats amplified by AI, defensive posture became mission-critical.

Even AI-assisted judging was framed carefully as measurement support — not autonomous decision-making — reinforcing that governance and human accountability remain essential.

The IOC’s AI agenda signals something bigger:
AI is no longer experimental at global events.
It is an operational infrastructure.

The Olympics are becoming a blueprint for AI-orchestrated, high-stakes, real-time systems.
The question isn’t whether AI will be embedded into large-scale operations.
It already is.

The question is whether your organization is designing for that level of resilience and governance.
