Real talk:

Chi parte per libertà spesso costruisce qualcosa di più grande.

Perché:

→ Sei vicino ai clienti (non hai filtri)
→ Non hai pressione di investitori (decidi tu)
→ Devi far funzionare le cose davvero (niente vanity metrics)
→ Impari a vendere presto (o muori)

Sono le stesse condizioni in cui nascono le aziende solide.

La cosa strana:

Ho ancora in testa la versione di me che voleva €2K al mese.

Ma nel frattempo sono diventato uno che:

→ Fattura 70k MRR
→ Prende decisioni su team, margini, strategia
→ Parla di crescita e scalabilità

Il cervello ci mette un po' ad aggiornarsi.

La lezione:

Il primo obiettivo non conta.

€2K al mese era una scusa.

Quello che volevo davvero era autonomia.

Non avere qualcuno sopra di me.

Non dover chiedere permesso.

Quando assaggi quella cosa, difficilmente torni indietro.

Se stai iniziando qualcosa solo per "libertà"...

Vai avanti.

Potresti finire molto più lontano di quanto pensi.

Ho chiamato 100 CEO a freddo. 
Ecco quanti mi hanno mandato a quel paese:

Zero.

Sì, hai letto bene.

100 chiamate a freddo a CEO.

0 insulti.
0 minacce.
0 "non chiamarmi mai più".

La realtà del cold calling nel 2025:

100 chiamate.
30 hanno risposto.
2 hanno buttato giù.
10 meeting bookati.

10%.

Da chiamate a freddo.

A CEO.

"Ma il cold calling è morto."

Certo. Continua a crederci.

Mentre tu mandi la quattordicesima email di follow-up che nessuno legge, io sono già in call con il decision maker.

La chiamata più bella:

"Come hai avuto il mio numero?"

"Tool di enrichment. Funzionano bene."

Silenzio.

Poi: "Ok, hai 2 minuti. Dimmi."

Meeting bookato.

Quello che nessuno ti dice:

I CEO sono persone.

Hanno problemi da risolvere.

Se chiami con qualcosa di rilevante, ti ascoltano.

Se chiami per "fare una chiacchierata" o "presentarti", ti buttano giù.

Giustamente.

La differenza:

→ Script che va dritto al punto
→ Primi 10 secondi che spiegano perché li stai chiamando
→ Un motivo reale per cui dovrebbero ascoltarti
→ Zero "come sta? ha 5 minuti?"

I numeri reali:

Su 100 chiamate:

→ 70 non rispondono (normale)
→ 30 rispondono
→ 2 buttano giù (normale)
→ 18 dicono "non mi interessa" (normale)
→ 10 ti danno un meeting

10 meeting da 100 chiamate.

Quanto tempo ci vuole a fare 100 chiamate?

3-4 ore.

Quanto tempo ci vuole a mandare 100 email e aspettare risposte?

Settimane. Con risultati peggiori.

La verità:

Il cold calling non è morto.

È solo scomodo.

Richiede di alzare il telefono.
Richiede di sentirti dire no.
Richiede di parlare con persone vere.

Per questo la maggior parte non lo fa.

E per questo funziona ancora.

Abbiamo aiutato una startup legaltech a chiudere una Serie A.

2 mesi prima erano in questa situazione:

→ Pipeline vuota
→ 100% dipendenza da inbound
→ Team sales in costruzione

Il founder aveva un problema:

Doveva dimostrare traction agli investitori.

Ma l'inbound non bastava.

E non aveva tempo di costruire un team interno.

Cosa abbiamo fatto:

2 SDR senior.

Cold calling strategico su studi commercialisti e legali.

Real talk:

Gli investitori non finanziano le idee.

Finanziano la traction.

E la traction si costruisce con la pipeline.

Non con le slide.

Non con le proiezioni.

Con i deal chiusi.

La lezione:

Se stai cercando di raccogliere, la domanda non è "quanto fatturiamo?"

È "quanto possiamo crescere?"

E per rispondere ti serve un canale prevedibile.

Non l'inbound che va a singhiozzo.

Non i referral che arrivano quando vogliono loro.

Un sistema che genera pipeline ogni mese.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma provare a chiudere una Serie A senza traction? Quello è il modo migliore per sentirsi dire "interessante, ci pensiamo."

2 anni e mezzo come founder.

Ho imparato più che in 7 anni di corporate.

Non è una critica.

È una constatazione.

In corporate ho imparato a lavorare in team, a gestire progetti, a navigare la politica aziendale.

Cose utili.

Ma da founder ho imparato cose che nessun corso, nessun manager, nessun MBA ti insegna:

→ Gestire il cash flow (quando gli stipendi dipendono da te)
→ Vendere (quando nessuno ti copre le spalle)
→ Prendere decisioni con il 50% delle informazioni
→ Assumere e licenziare (quando sbagli, paghi tu)
→ Responsabilità totale (nessuno a cui passare la palla)

Real talk:

In corporate contano i KPI di vanità.

Ore lavorate. Presenza in ufficio. Visibilità nei meeting.

Da founder conta solo una cosa:

Cash e clienti.

Tutto il resto è rumore.

Puoi lavorare 4 ore o 14 ore.

Puoi essere in ufficio o in spiaggia.

Puoi essere visibile o invisibile.

Se non entra cash, chiudi.

Se i clienti non sono contenti, chiudi.

Fine.

Non sto dicendo che corporate sia una perdita di tempo.

Sto dicendo che sono due scuole diverse.

Una ti insegna a lavorare dentro un sistema.

L'altra ti insegna a costruire il sistema.

E costruire il sistema ti costringe a imparare tutto.

Velocemente.

Senza rete di sicurezza.

La lezione:

Se vuoi crescere velocemente come professionista, mettiti in una posizione dove le conseguenze delle tue decisioni ricadono su di te.

Non su un budget aziendale.

Non su un team che assorbe l'impatto.

Su di te.

È lì che impari davvero.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma 7 anni in corporate senza mai gestire un P&L? Quelli sono anni in cui impari a eseguire, non a costruire.

Il tuo SDR costa €50K/anno.
Ecco quante demo dovrebbe portare per non essere in perdita.


Spoiler: probabilmente non ci arriva.

€50K è la RAL.

Il costo reale:

→ Costo azienda: ~€65K
→ HR, training, onboarding: €8K
→ 3-6 mesi di ramp-up: €15-30K bruciati
→ Manager che lo segue: €10K
→ Tool: €3K

Totale anno 1: €100-115K

Ah, e il turnover SDR è del 60% annuale.

Ogni 2 che assumi, 1 se ne va.

E ricomincia il ciclo.

La matematica del break-even:

Costo: €100K
ACV: €20K
Close rate: 17%

Per andare in pari:

€100K ÷ €20K = 5 deal

5 deal ÷ 17% = 30 demo qualificate

Ma i primi 3-6 mesi sono ramp-up.

Quindi: 4-5 demo qualificate al mese.

Ogni mese. Senza eccezioni.

Il tuo SDR le sta portando?

Se no, stai perdendo soldi.

Se il tuo ACV è sotto €8-10K, la matematica non torna mai.

Ti servirebbero 7-8 demo al mese per andare in pari.

Da un SDR che probabilmente se ne andrà entro l'anno.

Prima di assumere, fai la matematica.

Non quella ottimistica.

Quella spietata.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma un SDR che costa €100K e porta 1 demo al mese? Quello è un modo molto costoso per non crescere.

Da quando uso questo tool, chiudo il 60% dei deal.

È un file Excel.

Me lo ha passato il mio CFO.

Si chiama "Payback Period Calculator."

Cosa fa:

Calcola in quanto tempo il cliente recupera l'investimento sulla CASSA.

Non sul fatturato.

Non su metriche vanity.

Sulla cassa.

Perché i CFO ragionano così.

Real talk:

Prima facevo vedere un ROI generico.

"Con noi generi X pipeline, che vale Y revenue."

Il CEO annuiva.

Il CFO faceva domande.

"Ok, ma quando rientro dei soldi?"

"Come impatta il cash flow?"

"Quanto tempo prima di vedere risultati reali?"

E io non avevo risposte precise.

Perché parlavo la lingua sbagliata.

Parlavo di revenue.

Loro pensano in cassa.

Il CFO mi ha spiegato una cosa:

I budget non si allocano sul "potenziale ROI."

Si allocano sul payback period.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per recuperare l'investimento?

Se la risposta è "6-9 mesi", il CFO dice sì.

Se la risposta è "dipende", il CFO dice "ci pensiamo."

Cosa è cambiato:

Ora in ogni demo mostro esattamente:

→ Quanto costa il servizio
→ Quanti deal servono per rientrare
→ In quanti mesi recuperi l'investimento
→ Cosa succede al cash flow mese per mese

Parlo la stessa lingua di chi decide.

E chi decide è quasi sempre il CFO.

Il risultato:

Close rate dal ~30% al ~60%.

Non perché il servizio sia cambiato.

Perché ora so come presentarlo a chi tiene i cordoni della borsa.

La lezione:

Se vendi B2B e non chiudi, forse non è il prodotto.

Forse stai parlando la lingua sbagliata.

I CEO comprano visioni.

I CFO comprano numeri.

E i numeri che contano sono quelli sulla cassa.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma presentare un ROI generico a un CFO? Quello è il modo migliore per sentirsi dire "interessante, ci pensiamo."

Fatturavo il doppio dell'anno prima.

E non avevo soldi per pagare gli stipendi.

Come è possibile?

Semplice: non capivo la differenza tra fatturato e cassa.

Guardavo i numeri ogni mese.

Revenue su. Clienti su. Deal su.

"Stiamo spaccando."

Poi arrivava il 27 del mese.

E iniziava il panico.

"Ci sono i soldi per gli stipendi?"

Aprivo il conto.

E il numero non tornava mai.

Dove cazzo sono finiti i soldi?

Real talk:

Nessuno te lo spiega quando inizi.

Ti dicono: "Fattura di più. Cresci. Scala."

Non ti dicono:

→ I clienti pagano a 60 giorni
→ Tu paghi gli stipendi ogni mese
→ I tool li paghi in anticipo
→ Le tasse arrivano quando meno te lo aspetti

Quindi puoi fatturare €100K e avere €5K in banca.

Ed è esattamente quello che mi è successo.

La credenza sbagliata:

"Fatturato = successo"

La realtà:

Fatturato = vanità
Cassa = sopravvivenza

Puoi avere il miglior prodotto del mondo.

Puoi avere clienti che ti amano.

Puoi avere revenue in crescita del 200%.

Se finisci la cassa, chiudi.

Fine della storia.

Cosa ho fatto:

Ho smesso di fare il finto CFO.

Ho ammesso che non capivo un cazzo di finanza.

E ho trovato qualcuno che la capisce.

Ora so esattamente:

→ Quanta cassa ho
→ Quanta ne avrò tra 3 mesi
→ Quanto posso investire senza rischiare
→ Quali clienti sono davvero profittevoli

Non guardo più solo il fatturato.

Guardo il cash flow.

La lezione:

Se sei un founder e pensi "i numeri vanno bene, siamo a posto"...

Chiediti: quali numeri?

Perché il fatturato ti fa sentire bene.

Ma la cassa ti fa dormire la notte.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma i founder che confondono fatturato e cassa? Quelli rischiano di morire senza capire perché.

La maggior parte dei founder SaaS non sa vendere.

Controversial? Forse.

Ma è quello che vedo ogni settimana.

"Appena ho un prospect in call, lo chiudo."

Ok. Bello.

Ma ad avercelo, un prospect qualificato in call.

Real talk:

I founder SaaS sanno costruire prodotto.

Sanno scrivere codice.

Sanno fare pitch agli investitori.

Ma vendere?

Vendere significa generare pipeline.

E lì cascano quasi tutti.

Il pattern che vedo:

→ Comprano 10 tool "di moda" (Apollo, Clay, Instantly, whatever)
→ Settano automazioni ovunque
→ Aspettano che l'inbound faccia il lavoro
→ Contano sulla network di qualche ex collega di 15 anni fa

E poi si chiedono perché la pipeline è vuota.

Il problema:

Nessuno di questi approcci è prevedibile.

L'inbound va a singhiozzo.

I tool mandano email che finiscono in spam.

La network si esaurisce dopo 3 mesi.

E tu sei lì che aspetti.

Mentre i competitor chiamano i tuoi prospect.

La verità scomoda:

Il prodotto non si vende da solo.

Non importa quanto sia bello.

Non importa quante feature hai.

Non importa quanto sia "innovativo."

Se non hai un sistema per generare pipeline, non cresci.

Punto.

Cosa funziona davvero:

Outbound diretto.

Telefono.

Conversazioni vere con decision maker.

Non automazioni.

Non "sequence" da 47 touchpoint.

Persone che parlano con persone.

È meno sexy dei tool.

Ma funziona.

La domanda:

Quanta della tua pipeline dipende da te che alzi il telefono?

E quanta dipende dalla speranza che qualcuno ti trovi?

Perché se la risposta è "quasi tutta dalla speranza"...

Forse il problema non è il mercato.

È il metodo.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma i founder SaaS che aspettano che i clienti arrivino da soli? Quelli rischiano di restare fermi mentre i competitor chiamano.

€600 al mese.

A collaborazione.

Per chiamare CFO e CEO di aziende da €10M+.

Questo è il piano di molti imprenditori software per "costruire pipeline."

E poi si lamentano che l'outbound non funziona.

Real talk:

Ho chiuso più di 70 aziende negli ultimi anni.

Fatto più di 400 demo.

E il pattern è sempre lo stesso.

L'imprenditore "furbetto" pensa:

"Lo paghiamo una miseria. A collaborazione. Così non ci costa niente."

"Se non funziona, lo rimpiazziamo."

"Ce ne saranno altri scemi che hanno voglia di mettersi in gioco."

Poi mettono questo stagista a chiamare decision maker.

E lo stagista chiama il CFO: "Ciao Marco, ti disturbo?"

Ridicolo.

Il problema:

La pipeline è la funzione più critica di un'azienda B2B.

Senza pipeline, non chiudi.

Senza chiusure, non fatturi.

Senza fatturato, chiudi.

E tu affidi questa funzione a qualcuno che:

→ Non ha mai venduto niente
→ Non sa come parlare a un C-level
→ Non capisce il prodotto
→ Costa meno di un abbonamento Netflix premium

Cosa ti aspetti che succeda?

La matematica:

SDR stagista a €600/mese:
→ 0-2 demo al mese (se va bene)
→ Reputazione bruciata
→ Lead sprecati
→ Turnover ogni 3 mesi

SDR serio (interno o esterno):
→ 5-10 demo al mese
→ Conversazioni di qualità
→ Pipeline prevedibile
→ ROI misurabile

Il "risparmio" dello stagista ti costa 10x in opportunità perse.

La verità:

Non esiste il trucco per avere pipeline a costo zero.

O investi in persone capaci.

O non hai pipeline.

Tertium non datur.

Gli imprenditori che capiscono questo scalano.

Gli altri continuano a cercare "stagisti motivati" su LinkedIn.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma uno stagista a €600 che chiama CFO dicendo "la disturbo"? Quello è il modo più veloce per bruciare la tua reputazione e non avere mai pipeline seria.

Fatturi €20M e non hai pipeline.

Com'è possibile?

Più comune di quanto pensi.

Ecco cosa succede in queste aziende:

→ Zero struttura outbound
→ L'outbound è "complementare", non strategico
→ Il team sales fa solo farming sui clienti esistenti
→ L'inbound è in calo da mesi
→ I clienti storici stanno abbandonando

E ora sono nel panico.

Il problema delle aziende grandi:

Sanno di avere un problema.

Ma mettere in moto un cambiamento richiede mesi.

Il direttore commerciale deve convincere il management.

Il management deve sbloccare budget.

HR deve settare i processi.

Poi le interview.

Poi l'assunzione.

Poi il ramp-up.

Tempo totale: 9+ mesi.

Nel frattempo?

La pipeline resta vuota.

I clienti continuano ad andarsene.

I competitor chiamano i loro prospect.

Il paradosso:

Le startup si muovono veloci ma non hanno budget.

Le aziende da €20M hanno budget ma non si muovono.

E quando finalmente si muovono, hanno perso 9 mesi di pipeline.

Real talk:

Il fatturato alto nasconde fragilità.

Se il 100% della tua revenue viene da:

→ Clienti storici che "si rinnovano da soli"
→ Inbound che "ha sempre funzionato"
→ Referral che "arrivano naturalmente"

Non hai un sistema.

Hai fortuna.

E la fortuna finisce.

La lezione:

Non aspettare che l'inbound crolli per costruire l'outbound.

Costruiscilo mentre le cose vanno bene.

Perché quando vanno male, 9 mesi sono troppi.

📞 Il telefono non è morto. Ma aspettare di essere in crisi per alzarlo? Quello è il modo più costoso per scoprire che funziona.

"Interessante. Ci pensiamo e vi facciamo sapere."

Traduzione: non succederà niente.

Lo so perché l'ho sentito centinaia di volte.

E so anche perché lo dicono.

Paura.

Paura di sbagliare.
Paura di spendere soldi.
Paura di prendere una decisione.

Quindi rimandano.

6 mesi dopo sono ancora lì.

Stessa pipeline imprevedibile.

Stessi problemi.

Stessa paura.

Real talk:

Capisco la paura.

Assumere un'agenzia è un rischio.

Hai già provato ads che non hanno funzionato.
Hai già pagato consulenti che non hanno portato nulla.
Hai già bruciato budget in "esperimenti".

Quindi ora sei scettico.

Giustamente.

Ma ecco il problema:

Mentre tu ci pensi, il mercato non aspetta.

I competitor chiamano i tuoi prospect.
Il board chiede risultati.
La pipeline non si riempie da sola.

E ogni mese che passa è un mese perso.

Ecco perché esiste il pilot.

3 mesi.

Non 12 mesi di contratto.
Non commitment enormi.
Non salti nel vuoto.

3 mesi per validare se funziona.

Settimana 1: Strategia, ICP, script.
Settimane 2-4: Prime chiamate, primi test, prime demo.
Mese 2-3: Esecuzione piena, numeri reali, decisioni basate sui dati.

Dopo 3 mesi sai esattamente:

→ Quante demo generiamo
→ Qual è il costo per SQL
→ Se il canale funziona per te

Dati. Non speranze.

Se funziona, continui.

Se non funziona, hai perso 3 mesi e un budget contenuto.

Non 12 mesi e €50K per un SDR che forse non era quello giusto.

Il rischio vero:

Non è provare il pilot.

È non provare niente.

È restare fermo altri 6 mesi.

È arrivare al prossimo board meeting con gli stessi numeri.

È lasciare che la paura decida per te.

La matematica del pilot:

Costo: €3K-3,5K/mese x 3 mesi = €9K-10,5K

Risultato minimo garantito: 15-27 SQL in 3 mesi

Se il tuo ACV è €15K e chiudi il 20%:

15 SQL x 20% = 3 deal x €15K = €45K

ROI nel worst case: 4x.

Nel best case? Molto di più.

La domanda:

Vuoi continuare a pensarci?

O vuoi avere dati reali tra 90 giorni?

Perché "ci pensiamo" non è una strategia.

È procrastinazione mascherata da prudenza.

E la prudenza senza azione è solo paura con un nome migliore.
