Late nights. Worrying if starting a business was the right move. Sound familiar?

It’s a common story for anyone leaving the security of a job to build something of their own. Mine too, when I decided to launch a local septic company here in the Okanagan.

The core issue? Risk. Or more specifically, the fear of taking it.
It’s not about having every answer. It’s about having the courage to make the leap.

Here’s the usual pattern I see:

You stay in a job that feels safe, even though you know it’s not where you belong.
You think about starting a business, but the “what ifs” pile up.
Then one day you realize the perfect time never comes.

That was me. After years in a corporate role, I jumped into the unknown. I started with one truck, one employee, and a vision to do things differently.

The cycle was exhausting at first — learning on the fly, worrying about revenue, wondering if I had made a mistake.

But over time, I learned something important:
Entrepreneurship isn’t about avoiding the hard parts. It’s about facing them and growing stronger because of them.

Now, Okanagan Eco Pump Inc. is thriving — built on hard work, customer-first values, and a willingness to take that leap.

And here’s the best part: I want to help others do the same.
