Ogrodje is a Slovenian tech/dev podcast and a community. Our mission is to share the experience, deepen the knowledge and empower the technology enthusiast and professionals.

We started Ogrodje with the idea to give something back and help elevate the quality and know-how about the technology in the region.

In November 2022, Ogrodje became the number 1. tech podcast in the region on Apple Podcasts.

While working for Databox I was responsible for Databox Connect Platform; built with Node.js a RethinkDB. Bundled with Docker and Swarm; hosted on AWS.

Senior Software Engineer

SNAGR

SNAGR is music artists search engine. It seeks on 12+ different streaming/video/music sites for artists. The sites are searched in parallel and results are on-the-fly combined, ranked and sorted to give user readable and understandable overview. SNAGR was acquired by WbSrch.com in March 2016 and is now known as musicsrch.com.

MUBI

MUBI is an online cinema and social network that gives the latest news on films and awards from all around the world. I've joined MUBI as a freelance contractor. During my time with MUBI I've implemented ElasticSearch, helped with recommendation engine, scheduler, API and 3rd party integrations.

Fika is mobile startup and app founded by Robert Farazin (Y-Combinator, Techstars) in 2013. Fika provides simple, fast and pretty way to organise casual events with your friends. My role as CTO was to build and lead a team of  mobile developers while working on architecture and backend. Stack was Ruby / Rails, Android, iOS, Scrum and CI.

- Improvement of SW R&D organization, transformation of teams from traditional to agile (based on Scrum),
- Automatization and interconnection of all development phases within Azure DevOps (previously Team Foundation Server), with real-time metrics and reports about the state of development,
- Implementation of automated testing in all teams (unit, integration, API, UI for desktop and web), 
- Strategy for the ongoing renewal of large, legacy ERP systems in production,
- Comprehensive security policy, aligned with GDPR directive,
- On the holding level: introduction of the enterprise agile development in line with Scaled Professional Scrum (Nexus), Application Lifecycle phases and QA practices.

- Managed the work of scientific researchers in the department and planned the research in these fields for the institute
- Responsible for coordinating the work with heads of biological departments of the institute
- Collaborated on the preparation of the business plan for the first integrative healing centre in Slovenia, which performs therapies based on bioelectromagnetic principles (www.zcmedin.si)
- Generated additional innovative revenue streams for the business, including: the development of (semi) automatic trading systems and tools
- Sourced new clients from the industry and development of custom, often innovative solutions that solve their specific problems, primarily signal and image processing, as well as computer vision
- After an invitation, together with two other Slovenian technology experts, to visit the Hydrogen Institute in Austria to collaborate in the field of new energy sources, prepared a plan for the research and development start-up institute in this field, in addition gave an invited lecture at the related congress in the biggest national scientific Institute Jozef Stefan.

Motivated by professional challenges that have great potential benefits for society. I was exposed to them in various working environments. After completing the Ph.D. in Computer Science I have gained considerable experience in areas of the software development, product and project management, complex algorithm development, business analysis, business development, as well as innovation and life sciences research.

As a manager, my goal is to coach people around me to achieve their full potential and to establish an environment where everybody constructively, as well as responsibly contributes to the group objectives. 

I am always keen to link with people who share the professional drive and enthusiasm, passion for innovative technology development with strong benefits for the society. I also have a special interest in borderline natural sciences research, probably because it is being neglected while having a disruptive potential for solving many global problems.
