and forget to take care of yourself.

I am guilty myself!

I’ve been struggling with it
for quite a while in my career.

I am improving, but
it still haunts me here and there.

The constant pressure,
long hours, and never-ending decisions
may leave you feeling drained.

If you neglect your mental health,
you can’t perform at your best.

I had to learn this
the hard way.

So, don’t make the same mistake,
as I did.

Hᴇʀᴇ ᴀʀᴇ 10 ᴛɪᴘꜱ ᴛᴏ ʜᴇʟᴘ ʏᴏᴜ ᴍᴀɴᴀɢᴇ
ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ ᴡʜɪʟᴇ ʟᴇᴀᴅɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴄᴏɴꜰɪᴅᴇɴᴄᴇ:

✦ 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀:
⟶ Define work and personal time.
⟶ Set your phone to "Do Not Disturb"
after 6 PM to avoid work emails.

✦ 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲:
⟶ Trust your team to take responsibility
while you focus on strategy.
⟶ Remember: It’s not all on you.

⟶ Set a timer for 50 minutes of work,
followed by a 10-minute break.

reviewing your progress

From “I always mess up.”

Replace it with:
“I can improve.”
“I’ll take this one step at a time.”

Anger might be hurt. Avoidance might be fear.
Joking might hide insecurity.

If you get angry when someone cancels plans,
maybe you actually feel unimportant.

Scrolling for hours? Overworking?
Saying yes to everything? Ignoring people?

Pause and choose a better move.

Scroll → Take a short walk.
Overwork → Set one clear boundary.
Avoid → Have the honest conversation.

After you react, ask:
What did I gain?
What did it cost me?

8 Ways To Build Executive Presence

Are you familiar with that voice that tells you “you can't do it” or “it needs to be perfect”? Here are 5 mindset shifts that help you turn your Inner Critic into your Inner Mentor!

Inside your mind,
there are two voices that are always talking to you.

One looks for mistakes.
The other one looks for growth.

One says,
“You should’ve done better.”

The other asks,
“What can we learn from this?”

This is the dynamic between your
Inner Critic and your Inner Mentor.

The Inner Critic isn’t actually bad.
It’s protective.

Its job is to:
→ Prevent failure
→ Avoid embarrassment
→ Maintain control

But it often uses:
→ Harsh language
→ Comparison
→ Shame as motivation

Familiar with these lines?
“Everyone else is better than me.”
“I’m not good enough to handle this.”
“I’m just not good enough.”

That is your inner critic speaking.

Shame might push you 
to improve for a moment.

But over time...

It slowly affects your confidence.

While your Inner Mentor is gentle.
Also protective (but wise)

It doesn’t ignore mistakes.

Instead, 
it helps you understand
and learn from them.

Starting a new position is challenging.

→ New responsibility.
→ New level of visibility.
→ New expectations.

And the first 90 days are challenging.

Not from lack of skill,
but because the priorities are shifting.

Here’s a question to think about:
➟ What are my team’s biggest challenges?
➟ How can I execute this role effectively?
➟ How can I understand the system?

This phase isn’t about proving capability.

It’s about making deliberate moves
that land well, build credibility,
and compound over time.

Hᴇʀᴇ ᴀʀᴇ 7 ᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴛᴏ ᴍᴀᴋᴇ ʏᴏᴜʀ ғɪʀsᴛ 90 ᴅᴀʏs ɪɴ ᴀ ɴᴇᴡ ʀᴏʟᴇ sᴜᴄᴄᴇᴇᴅ:

✦ 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲
⟶ List 5–10 key people: boss, direct reports, peers.
⟶ Book 30–45 min meetings in week one.
⟶ Ask: “What works well? 
What slows things down? How can I help?”
