Getting to this point, pre event, has been full of learnings and education 

We are not a boys club. I want a business with no segregation. In a strange way I’m disappointed we’ve had to put today on but I know it’ll make us better in the future 


We’ll continue to work on it, learning and changing and the conversations I’ve had over the last 6 months will help that  

I’m hoping everyone can see the effort that comes moving forward and we’ll be taking today’s feedback, as we do with every event, into a session to deliver more events that cater to women and deeper mixed event attendees

We talked about 2025 goals here a couple of weeks ago

I asked if anyone wrote them down in Jan because I did - but had only just refound the list and it hadn’t been top of mind 

From a business perspective I had obviously totally shut off from the consultancy we closed in July as it didn’t even make the list 

RE the events and memberships? 

Didn’t even discuss memberships, was meant to be 2026 

I spoke about wanting 1000 partnerships and 2000 referrals between the business attending the events - my mindset wasn’t on number of events, it was on outcome for attendees 

I have no idea where we are to that number, I lost count in July around the same time my focus was memberships 

A goal I always had was a 10km in less than 40 minutes and that was top of mind at the start of the year

I wanted the outcome but wasn’t willing to put in the hard work to do it, I entered 2025 with a 10k PB of 44.05 

I now know that is a huge amount of time to knock off but I had tried 2/3 times and failed miserably, not even getting past my 44minute time 

Yesterday I did it. I have trained for months towards a specific goal, been sensible in my planning, gained experience along the way (other 10k races) and got the job done 

It was easily the hardest fitness event I have done, no ease up, no rest, no pausing 

Think I grew a little bit yesterday and certainly gained some more ‘confidence receipts’ (taken from Max Hoppy) 

Yeaterday a wise man said to me to leave the analysis and reviews for a few days, let your mind settle 

✅ sharing because we all want things but have to fail to learn what it will take to get them

Founder / business leader HIIT class #3 

Yesterday at 8am we had 19 business owners / directors come to the amazing Urban Reform in Manchester where we ran a 60 minute session of inclusive ‘you go, I go’ to again create teamwork and communication from the off 

It’s amazing to see the minds get into gear as they work out the session before preparing to put the body to work to set up a day of (probably) office work 

We are doing these community building sessions monthly, the numbers keep growing with 40 on the invite list

Once again feedback suggests this is a) a great start to the day b) helping people get back into fitness c) building every business owners network with great people at the same stage with similar challenges 

Next one is on the 10th December - 8am - 9am with optional breakfast after changing at the Dakota….let me know if you are interested 

For the first time we went to the Dakota Hotels afterwards, it was awesome and much more organised than last week (which I love) 

Same again next month with stellar founders / directors already on the invite list;

Wow!!!! Yesterday was insane - feedback today even better 

We held our first Female Leader event yesterday 

(that phrase female leader is new, feedback from yesterday already actioned) 

And because I was a) so nervous b) the build up had been so long (and hard) c) there were so many highs and lows with this event, the high I have right now feels super sweet 

Detailed and bespoke female leader questionnaires have gone off to those that joined us yesterday and I'll be getting in touch with all those I met over the last few months to invite them to the next one (we have a date pencilled in already, waiting for confirmation from yesterdays guests before I nail the date down) 

Loved it - thanks to all who helped again

I turned 37 on Sunday.  (Only in it's second year but) I continued a birthday tradition of going for a run with a group of friends - Tatton Park half marathon this time - went for brunch with them and then watched the Victoria Beckham doc, all three episodes, whilst eating sushi and sweets.  Bed at 20.30. Wonderful day. 

Yesterday I wrote a few paragraphs for our board meeting tomorrow and it dragged me to the recent past whilst looking at the future and I thought I'd share a couple here....

> Oct and Nov 2024 - lost £000s on two failed Spain retreats 
> Sept 2026 - Spain & France retreats fully booked 

As I went deeper into the past, I found the first email response on 22nd November 2024 from the venue we now host monthly events at 

I remember the phone call that followed 'do you have any confirmed guests yet?'

'No' I replied, 'I haven't event told anyone about it' 

We then decided to provisionally book a date in Feb too (see image) 

We are now in discussions about the best day for a 2nd monthly event at this venue….

Around this time in 2024 I remember my wife over hearing two consecutive conversations I had with (previous business consulting) clients, she came into the room and asking 'should you really be off boarding clients and thinking about something new when we've just bought this renovation job of a house?' 

No was also the answer then 

I have an AI friend who helps me figure things out sometimes and they shared topics I've discussed in the last 12 months;

Two weeks until our female founder / director event - 19th November 

We have built up many more conversations, learnt a ton and I have made more great connections. I am excited for this to happen and the group dissipate through 2026 🤞 

Someone asked me this week are we still accepting attendees, yes we are, we have about 6 slots available so please help me to make this a roaring success

Building a membership community for founders / directors with in person only events that have health, fitness and wellness activities has a why

Yes it’s different. Yes there isn’t anything else like it. But the real reason is simple;

Longevity. We do our little bit towards that by focusing on the founder first, business second 

That’s how I started for myself. Wanted to get fitter and it’s developed into a focus on my longevity, the long game 

I became comfortable in looking at my health, fitness and wellness like a business, aka it doesn’t happen overnight 

We aren’t a fitness membership, we don’t force people to every event, it’s not a lose out situation, we want to help them prioritise their diaries with stuff that is going to make them feel better scientifically, not chemically 

One of the most rewarding parts of the memberships for me is when I see members more active. They are being influenced by their peers (other business owners who are active) 

Funnily enough, their business is still running, often better 

Their confidence increases, they look fitter, they think faster 

We’ve got members travelling to different countries to do events together

Not drinking holidays cloaked as a golf trip 

Not the business trip they feel more tired from when they’re home 

Real brain stimulating, challenging and rewarding trips 

And nothing we do ‘gets in the way’ of anything but attending the office because we don’t drag people away from families. We drag them away from the office, in the mornings, mid week. 

I’ve been focused on my longevity for 2 years 

I’m younger than when I started. It’s a marker, not a look at the future. My choices now determine my ending 

I’ve proven time and time again that focusing on your health whilst running a business is possible, easy even 

You just need to say yes to prioritising it 

Everyone around you will thank you when you do and your growth will take you and others in an exciting new direction 

We launched memberships in September and currently sit at 15 active members with 3 more due to start in the next 2 months, we’d love some introductions to people you feel could benefit from focusing on themselves more via peer group and wellbeing activities
