I manage a team of 5 Customer Support Advisors, who in turn service over 160,000 CSSC members.
Dubbed as the 'engine room' of the company, my team are sociable yet hardworking and it's my responsibility to ensure that we keep to our SLAs, offer our members the best possible experience and keep motivated even in the face of tough times.

Having only joined the company in January 2018 I have demonstrated passion and initiative enough to have been promoted to this position and will be responsible for seeing the company through a number of firsts/changes: digital membership cards, a new website, a new CRM system and a subscription price increase (to name a few of the things happening over the next few months) all while keeping my team motivated and in good spirits!

Customer Support Team Leader

Offering friendly support for over 140,000 members; from reinstating accidentally cancelled direct debits, contacting a member whose wallet had been found with his CSSC card in it to get the wallet back to him and doing detective work to locate skeleton records for members who have been paying for decades yet had fallen out of touch with us, which results in us having no contact details and no way of reaching them. In this case I flesh the record out so we have their contact details and ensure they know of the latest offers so they can make the most out of their membership.

I am also responsible for training new members of staff, changing the phones over from am to pm shifts and turning them off for training/when the office is closed, delegating emails to the team and creating the team's rota. I provide support to my team members, one of whom has affectionately named me her 'sponge' as I pick things up so quickly. I am one of two people responsible for the manual (and time consuming!) process of posting salary payments, any and all Microsoft Excel queries within the membership teams and generally help out wherever I can. 

Most notably, I have been invited to numerous meetings attended by team leaders, managers and directors in which we are choosing CSSC's first CRM system - which is obviously not in the job description of a Customer Support Advisor. I have been present in the meeting to confirm details regarding the manual salary posting process and have been keen to ask questions in order to clarify what value the CRM would add to my team in particular and whether it is fit for purpose.

We're a small but mighty team; our permanently stocked biscuit tin goes a long way in keeping us fueled enough to help our members and happy enough to do so with a laugh.

Offered excellent support to clients experiencing technical difficulties with devices/apps built for use in clinical trials. This included providing technical support for Samsung smartphones and tablets, glucometers and TUMs. The majority of the time I was assisting clients that weren't technically savvy and needed coaching every step of the way, often through a translator as we supported studies that were running across the world. Therefore, simple and clear communication was key to resolving these issues as quickly as possible.

Consistently high performing; I was one of the top agents despite being in the industry for only 12 months with no prior experience. Accepted to help pioneer a new role as Support Lead after only 2 months in the company, with proven success for the cohesion it built between the Support, Logistics and Project Management departments. Support tickets were reduced as a result of the ability to feed back information to the Support team and proactively resolve/reduce the impact of issues.
