This week, I’m joined by Saiqua Zaneb FCCT, an aspiring Deputy Headteacher whose impact on Initial Teacher Training (ITT) is nothing short of outstanding.

In 2022/23, nearly 3,000 teaching vacancies went unfilled and projections suggest this will continue to rise until at least 2026. With recruitment and retention under such pressure, the work of those supporting new teachers has never been more important.

Saiqua Zaneb FCCT’s approach focuses on:
 ✨ Supporting new staff entering the profession
 🛡️ Building genuine resilience
 🚫 Ensuring trainees aren’t overwhelmed or scared off
And the stat that still amazes me: she hasn’t lost a single trainee.
