With our department we are the gatekeepers and developers of the business model of online brokerage. Central question in our job is: how do we make money within this company?

My team is divided into three areas of expertise: Intelligence, product management and education. Within the intelligence department we develop pricing models, customer lifetime cycles, customer behavior models and we support other (mainly marketing) departments with facts and analyses. The product management department is responsible for the optimization of our three main product lines (trading website, trading applications and mobile trading devices), all contracts with our suppliers, the product's pricing and large projects.Our educational staff is the most differentiating product feature. They run an academy with curricula for different customer segments.

The total department consists of about 10 FTE.

Dit wordt veelal bereikt door het stroomlijnen en inzichtelijk maken van operationele processen. Hierbij heb leiding gegeven aan 5 tot 6 personen.

Met meer dan 30 staalfabrieken op verschillende locaties bestaan er vele mogelijkheden om met behulp van logistieke oplossingen en goede inkoopafspraken kosten te reduceren. Binnen Mittal Steel was ik verantwoordelijk voor het onderzoeken en uitvoeren van deze mogelijkheden voor het specifieke ruwe materiaal ijzererts. Naast het coördineren van marktonderzoeken bestond mijn werk uit veel inkooponderhandelingen en het uitvoeren van verbetertrajecten rondom ijzererts gebruik in de fabrieken.

Throughout my life, I've had an unyielding passion for embracing challenges. Whether it is on education, business or on a personal level. From trying to study a year in Brazil at the age of 16 (not knowing the language) to running ultra distances (100km) through mountain terrain. And from acquiring a company through a MBO to raising two teenagers. It’s all challenging and scary at times. But that is how I like it, always sort of an adventure. Luckily I’m never alone in these challenges. There is always a team involved to make it happen.
