Yes, LinkedIn isn’t at its strongest on weekends, but people are here. 

Want proof? 

Switch your main feed from “Most relevant” to “Most recent.” 

You’ll see it immediately: 
– every minute someone likes something, 
– someone comments on something, 
– someone posts something. 

LinkedIn has 1.2B+ users, so there’s always someone here, even on a Sunday. 

Keep contributing. 
Don’t underestimate the growth of this platform. 

You’ll be grateful you didn’t give up.

I had a mini-heart attack this morning. LinkedIn restricted me, and I stopped existing for a few minutes. What happened? 

LinkedIn accused me of being automated or using some "unauthorised" tools and extensions. 

Which is not true, I have 3 plugins installed that I don't use, but I deleted them just to be safe. 

What could be causing this situation? 

1. Automation tools (for engagement, DMs, scraping) 
2. Excessive connection requests 
3. Rapid-fire actions ("being too fast" in activities) 
4. Copy-paste behaviour (e.g. same DMs sent to multiple contacts) 
5. Account hopping & Suspicious logins 
6. Aggressive outbound messaging 
7. Third-party browser extensions 

Solution? 

Avoid the above points. 🙃

Other things that can help significantly: 

– buy Premium (some quotas will be freed up) 
– make connections with LinkedIn employees 
– create a backup account and grow it simultaneously with the main account (but who would have time for that, right?) 

This is also a way to get your adrenaline pumping during the weekend. 

Hopefully, your time here is less terrifying!

And the Oscar for the most cringe social media platform goes to...

Even if your posts get low impressions, you can still gain followers.
I’m living proof of that. 😀 You just need one crucial thing: 

People who trust you and support you no matter what. 

I’ve been building my communities across multiple platforms. 
On LinkedIn for almost 6 months now. 

→ I show up in the comments every day. 
→ You’re used to this pattern. 
→ And you’re happy to have a conversation with me even when a post isn’t blowing up. 

Look at the ratio of likes to comments. 
I have more comments than likes. 

That alone helps my posts show up in the feeds of your friends (2nd-degree connections). 

Not every day is easy. 

But with you, guys, it’s a little brighter.

I keep it very short because I know you guys are too lazy to read.

An updated version of the Benjamin Franklin quote: "The only certainties in life are dea*h, paying taxes, and being deleted by LinkedIn." AKA: 

LinkedIn may have at least two reasons to remove you from the platform. 

1. When you post too much 
2. When you don’t post at all 

1) In the first case, it can happen when LinkedIn sees strange behaviour patterns and assumes you’re using automation, for example: 
 – commenting excessively 
 – sending a lot of connection requests 
 – sending a lot of messages 
 – repeatedly using certain (maybe even inappropriate) phrases 
 – using third-party tools, scheduling apps, etc. 

2) In the second case, it can be about zero activity, a completely inactive account that hasn’t moved a finger in a long time. 

Sometimes I don’t understand this platform, but I guess not everything has to make perfect sense. 

Just think of one important thing: 

LinkedIn punishes extremes and rewards consistency.

To create a quite successful post on LinkedIn, you don't need to write long essays. Often, all you need is "just" this:

Write 1 to 3 sentences, each on its own line. 

The trick is knowing which 3 sentences to write. 😅 

It also helps to: 
– add a compelling visual (sometimes a screenshot or a meme is enough), 
– write the first comment (you need to train people to visit the comments section). 

My last 3-line post brought me at least 16 new followers. 

Three lines that can make a difference. 

Don’t waste the potential of short text posts. 
Study what works for others and learn how to work with text. 

TL;DR: Express the idea clearly and as simply as possible.

If you want your posts to go viral, you need to focus on one very simple thing that we often overlook: 

Emotions. 

People are still animals at heart – sometimes facts and logic aren’t enough (and are not everything). 

⚠️ This one rule works every time: highlight the emotions, and you get attention.  

Focus on these predominantly: 
1. Laughter 
2. Fear 
3. Anger 

My most successful posts are MEMEs or sarcastically funny ones (I’m naturally sarcastic). 

This week, my top post tapped into fear: LinkedIn threatening to delete my profile. 

Sometimes, you don’t need to be intellectually profound. 

You need to be funny, "dangerous," and a little rude. 😝

Lately, more and more people have been sending me surprisingly positive messages in my DMs: 

"Commenting on your posts helped me connect with a key person." 

Social media is about being social – about interacting. (Which is why I still don’t understand why so many try to fake it or shortcut it with AI.) 

I believe more than 50% of success comes from active commenting. 

By actively commenting, you can: 
– Connect with interesting people you can actually chat with 
– Discover potential clients, customers, and coworkers
– Expand your knowledge 
– Build your reputation 
– Create material for future posts 
– Remember people better (Hi, Rana) 😉 

Here’s an example from Kavyashree S, who shared the commenting success in the comments and even sent me a DM about it.

Dear LinkedIn, do you really think I have time to play games? 
This is not a kindergarten, we are here to build businesses and make money. 

So please, don't distract us. Rather, boost my post impressions and give me that LinkedIn Top Voice badge.

350 followers, but over 235k impressions. I usually don’t share client case studies, but today I’ll make an exception and show you what worked: 

Over the summer, a local association approached me to help with their annual International Theatre Festival, which runs for one week each October. 

🎯 Goal: Build awareness on social media (Instagram) and (in)directly support ticket sales for the artists’ performances. 

We started with roughly 300 followers in August and only 8,000 impressions over the previous three months (July – September). 

Active account management began in the last week of August, continued through September, and covered the first three weeks of October. 

By the end, followers had grown slightly to 355, but impressions skyrocketed to 235k+ over August – October. 

⚠️ What helped? 
• Daily posts (+ Stories). 
• Inviting performers as co-creators, which exposed content to their fans; some actors were quite well-known. 
• A MEME post – one actor sent photos from previous performances; I spotted a funny similarity to a Drake MEME. This post alone reached 17k+ impressions. 
• Actively commenting and creating dialogue with followers. 
• Highlighting the festival’s 31-year history, despite Instagram's presence only starting in the last 2 – 3 years. 
• Media coverage (radio, TV, newspapers). 
• Boosted posts – paid ads focused on ticket sales and driving traffic to the webshop, rather than post engagement. 
• Tagging relevant people, sponsors, and institutions. 
• A “peak period” leading up to the festival: posting video invites by actors as Reels, sometimes publishing 5+ posts per day. 

But this isn’t just about impressions – we sold out several of the 23 performances, and the remaining shows still had very high attendance. 

It was all a team effort, but there were only two people who were most involved in this: Me and Patrik, who was part of the organising team. 

I wanted to publish this at the end of October, but somehow I forgot about it; better late than never. 😅 

TL;DR: Work on multiple projects, it will give you valuable experience and a nice collection for your portfolio.

GET 235K VIEWS EVEN WHEN YOU ARE SMALL – CASE STUDY

Anytime I want to buy something, I search: “Product XY review Reddit”... and that’s it. → Decision is made. 🤷‍♀️ BTW... 

LinkedIn articles are getting more citations in AI responses – it's right after Reddit, so it’s worth investing in both platforms.

Thank you, LinkedIn, for bringing drama into my life so I have content to write about. Yesterday, my account got restricted. But do you know what happened? 

I shared what happened in a single post: just a screenshot and plain text. 

Result? 

20k+ impressions. 

I hadn’t seen numbers like this in almost three weeks. 

One nerve-wracking LinkedIn moment, delivered in 24 hours: 
– 26,494 impressions 
– 235 profile views 
– 10 new followers 
– 102 reactions 
– 278 comments 
– 3 reposts 
– 18 saves 
– 2 shares via LinkedIn messages 

And the stats are still climbing. 

Sometimes I struggle to find topics. Then LinkedIn steps into my life (positively or negatively) and hands me a piece of content that performs. 

It practically writes itself. 

TL;DR: LinkedIn is still the biggest topic on LinkedIn.

Not getting attention for your posts? Let me tell you what you’re doing wrong, and what people actually pay attention to: 

We live in a short-attention span economy. 

We want the whole point in a 15-second video, and not everyone can handle reading long texts anymore (please, start reading books to fix this!). 

So, what don’t people read? 

• Text that’s too long without paragraphs 
• Long text about uninteresting topics 
• AI-generated text that feels… synthetic 
• Long introductions without a clear point or a takeaway for the reader 

What do people prefer to read? 

• Shorter text with paragraphs and bullet points 
• Simple language (“explain it like I’m 5”) 
• Real experiences, clear opinions, facts, and emotions 
• Text that’s accompanied by an image (which could carry meaning on its own) 

Exception for long text: If you’re a highly respected and well-known person, you can write long posts – people will savour every single word you write. 

TL;DR: 
Length, context, content, and the way you present it all matter.
