Story
At a very young age, Dr. Subrina Jesmin (Arai) set her goal to help people within her community and beyond. The biggest inspiration on that journey was her father. Dr. Subrina strongly believes in her father’s ideals and beliefs as he, too, was well known in their community for helping people by any means. He constantly motivated her to get the highest form of education possible in the country of Bangladesh.
During those days, it was challenging for women to receive higher education in Bangladesh. With her father’s encouragement, Dr. Subrina marched forward and broke barriers for women wanting to receive higher education and become self-dependent. When she finished her graduation in Bangladesh, she immediately opted for a job to support her family. 
In her efforts to support the family, she moved abroad to Japan, where she has been residing for close to 2 decades. The challenges of settling and establishing multiply when a person wants to do it abroad. Dr. Subrina knew it all too well and was duly prepared to tough it out no matter what. Despite the troubled times, her perseverance paid dividends.
Dr. Subrina chose the healthcare sector to honor her father and help as many people as possible. On that note, she has screened over one million women in her hometown and village for gestational diabetes. She launched a program to raise rural women's awareness about their health. During a survey, she discovered that many rural women had never undergone a health checkup. She knew that no one would come forward if she did not help them.
So, she helped the women with her own money by providing free health checkups. The efforts she made as a humanitarian have been duly recognized and awarded many times over the years.
