5. I set a high standard for the way I live and the way I wanted the people closest me to be

6. I surrounded myself with other ambitious people

7. I didn’t forget that none of it really matters

8. I put in enough reps to negate luck

9. I put myself in challenging situations to build my confidence

10. I started doing everything with intention and conviction

11. I remembered to laugh

12. I brainwashed myself into believing I could do anything

13. I moved to a new city and lived alone for 6 months

14. I live by a simple rule: if I won’t be worrying about this in 5 years time, I shouldn’t worry about it now

15. I move my body every day and don’t fill it with fake food

16. I started doing weekly reviews of my progress and performance

17. I stuck in there through some very hard times

18. I realised that the smartest way to success is to learn from other people who have already done the thing you want to achieve

2016:

Sees ad → Buys product.

2026:

Sees ad

→ Scrolls your profile
→ Checks your LinkedIn posts
→ Puts phone down

Next day:

→ Googles the problem
→ Reads a blog
→ Finds a competitor

Week after:

→ Sees your post again
→ Has an objection
→ Objection answered by your content

Month after:

→ Searches your name
→ Watches a podcast clip
→ Signs up for a freebie

3–12 months later:

→ Sees more posts
→ Checks your case studies
→ Forgets to book call
→ Sees you again
→ Books call

TLDR: The modern buyer journey is messy and unpredictable. 

But you’ll win them by being visible and valuable over a long period of time.

Let your work speak for itself.
Hope referrals continue.
Focus on the product.

New way:

Don’t just build a great product. Talk about it. 
Share your ideas and expertise online.
Be the best and the best known.

Your work won’t ‘do the talking’ like it would in 2015. 

Here’s how to do the talking for it (without overdoing it): 

1. Underpin with authority positioning
2. Share high utility content (stuff people will use)
3. Document wins in real time (feels natural that way)
4. Admit weaknesses (the Pratfall effect)
5. Be confident but not arrogant (confidence → trust)
6. Be the spotlight, don’t be IN the spotlight (big difference)

Remember: the role of a founder has quietly changed.

It used to be to run the company.
Now it’s to represent it.

The person buyers trust is the business they choose.

Only 3-5% of your audience is ready to buy now. What are you doing with the other 97%?

I’ll tell you what most people do. They either:

→ Annoy them with spam 
→ Completely ignore them

Imagine you’re dating for a moment. 

Most people are either: 

→ Proposing to their leads on the first date
→ Or never proposing to their leads at all

Neither are great ways to secure a spouse (so I’m told) 

LinkedIn version:

→ Propose on the first date = cold pitch in the first message.
→ Never propose = be invisible, never connect, never interact.

Try this instead: 

First, look for hand raises.

Hand raises are signals like:

→ Profile views
→ New followers
→ Newsletter sign ups

Those people are showing interest.
They are future buyers.

Then they build an ecosystem around them.

Not a spammy funnel, an ecosystem.

→ Content builds visibility and trust
→ Lead magnets capture email
→ Email nurtures with value
→ Case studies show proof
→ Offers give a clear next step

Only 3-5% will buy now.
Around 60% will never buy.
About 35% need time, trust and more touchpoints.

How I build highly profitable LinkedIn accounts ↓

I turn people into The Authority (let me explain) 

Context:

I’ve been doing this for 6 years (for myself & 350 clients)
Many of them run 7/8/9 figure companies
But this also works for beginners

Here's my 7-step system:

1️⃣ Start with positioning, not posting

Most people rush to create content.
But without clear positioning, you're just noise.

I spend the first 30 days defining:

- What you deliver
- Who desperately needs it
- Why you're the go-to for that thing

No content until this is crystal clear.

2️⃣ Build your "Authority Stack"

What you say matters.
But who says it matters more.

Build Authority with:

- Clear social proof and credibility
- A proven model or strategy
- A fully optimised profile
- Subtle signalling

This turns profile visitors into followers.

3️⃣ Master the 3-content framework

After 40,000 posts, I know what works:

Growth Content (40%): Broad insights that get shares
Authority Content (40%): Deep expertise that builds trust
Conversion Content (20%): Sales message to convert leads

Most people do 90% growth, 0% conversion.
Then wonder why they have followers but no clients 🤷‍♂️

4️⃣ Create a "Trust Sequence"

Your best clients need 7-12 touchpoints before buying.

So I build:

- Weekly case studies
- Monthly lead magnets
- Quarterly sales messaging

I think of this as an ecosystem, not a funnel.
This nurtures cold connections into warm leads.

5️⃣ Turn DMs into Discovery Calls (optional)

Here's a simple message framework:

"Saw your comment about [specific problem].
Just helped [similar client] achieve [specific result].
Worth a quick chat to see if I can help you too?"

My advice - don’t spam sales pitches.
Always have a reason to reach out.

6️⃣ Package your expertise (don't sell time)

My clients don't buy posts.
They buy authority, leads, and revenue.
Price based on value, not hours.

You’ll go from 3 figure → 5 figure clients.

7️⃣ Scale with systems

Once it works, systemise everything:

- Content structures
- Engagement workflows
- Conversion tracking
- Double down on what’s working

Here's the thing:

Your LinkedIn account can feed your ego or your business.

The only difference is the strategy behind it.

So use these 5 strategies to create a profitable personal brand:

1️⃣ Make Your Profile a Sales Machine

Use your Featured section to show proof & case studies.
Put your value proposition at the start of your tagline.
Write your About section like a sales letter.

2️⃣ Post Content That Positions You THE Expert

Share your process → "How I" > "How To"
Turn real-life conversations into posts.
Talk about failures & lessons.
Teach what you wish someone had taught you.
Track what resonates (double down on what works).

3️⃣ Create a Cadence

As an example:

2x posts per week to grow your audience.
2x posts per week to nurture trust.
1x post per week to convert.

Have 3-5 content topics.

4️⃣ Engage

Respond to comments within the first hour.
Message people who view your profile.
Follow up with prospects who engage with your posts.

5️⃣ Make Your Writing Gripping

Focus on the first line (the hook makes or breaks your post).
Write like you talk (conversational > corporate).
Turn lessons into actionable frameworks.

Some of the results we’re seeing with this (in 6 months):

→ £120,000 of new business.
→ 2 leads from just 2 posts.
→ 14,000+ new followers.

If you apply them too, expect:

- More authority.
- More opportunities.
- Huge industry presence.

So here’s the challenge:

Follow the gameplan above and go all in for 6 months.
