Today, Nicole’s work sits at the intersection of psychology, marketing, and intelligent automation. 🇻🇪 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹.

My children grew up in Canada.
They speak fluent English and Spanish "with an accent."

They love arepas and tequeños…
But they’ve never run along the beaches of my childhood.

They’ve never met their uncles... They've never played with their cousins.

They don’t know what it’s like to wake up with El Ávila watching over you.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀-𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 — like so many children of the diaspora.
They belong to two worlds… but have never fully stepped into the one I carry tattooed on my soul.

For over a decade, I showed them Venezuela through photos.
Through stories.
Through arepas 🫓made with love in our Canadian kitchen.

But they could never touch it.
𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘸.

For 26 years, I asked God, the universe, anyone who would listen for one thing: 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆.

Not vengeance. Not hatred.
Just freedom.

Freedom for the unjustly imprisoned to reunite with their families.
Freedom for mothers to stop searching for food in the trash for their children.
Freedom for brilliant young people to dream without having to leave.

For 26 years, that felt impossible.
Until January 3, 2026.

That day, while the world slept, everything changed.
In a matter of minutes, the one who had chained my country for decades was removed from power.

And for the first time in 26 years, freedom stopped being a dream.
𝗜𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.

I don’t know what comes next.
I don’t know what the transition will look like.
I don’t know how long reconstruction will take.

But I know this:

Today, 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲.
Our flag finally represents something no regime could ever take from us — the real possibility of return.

For my children to swim in those beaches they’ve only seen in photos.
To see that blue sky I’ve missed so much.
To embrace, without fear, those I left behind.

Today I celebrate the possibility of rebuilding.
I celebrate that political prisoners can hug their families again.
I celebrate that the Venezuelan diaspora can dream of going back home.
I celebrate that my country has a chance to be what it should always have been.

To those who made this moment possible... those who resisted, who spoke up when it was dangerous, who never stopped believing.
𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘬 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

Because today, Venezuela’s promise is no longer just a dream.
It’s a real possibility that every Venezuelan must protect and rebuild together.
