Shopify released a small but very useful update for international stores.
You can now customize theme settings and app embeds per Market.

Before this, theme settings were global. If a store wanted different storefront experiences for different regions, the usual workaround was duplicating themes or adding custom logic.

Now merchants can override settings per market directly in the Theme Editor.

Examples:
• different colors or typography per region
• market-specific banners or messaging
• enable/disable app embeds by market
• custom CSS per region

How to use it:
1️⃣ Go to the Theme Editor
2️⃣ Select the Market you want to customize
3️⃣ Adjust theme settings or app embeds
4️⃣ Save — changes apply only to that market

🇺🇦 February 24, 2022. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 
Every Ukrainian can tell their story of that day — what they were doing, where they were going, where they were, and who they were with. We remember it all down to the minute. It is the day we will never forget. The day that divided life into before and after.

Like everyone else, I woke up to the first explosions in Kharkiv. For those who don’t know, Kharkiv is the second-largest city in Ukraine, its first capital, just 30 kilometers from the Russian border. Frantically gathering only the most essential things, I drove to my family — not away from the border, but toward it. They lived in a small town between Kharkiv and the border.

Back then, nothing made sense yet. But I will never forget how, on the highway, I passed a column of our tanks moving toward Russia, and the young guys sitting on top of them, smoking. I think about them often. I hope they are alive.
It is hard to explain this to those who have never lived through something like this. Each of us has someone who was killed in this war, someone who is now on the front line, someone who is trying to heal.

I remember how many calls and messages I received that day from our partners and clients. They offered us everything — help with relocation, housing in Germany, Canada, and Portugal, and even direct financial support.
We refused it all. 

We asked for only one thing — to support our team and to continue working with us. We promised that we would keep delivering the same level of service as before. Because for us, the most important thing was to make sure our people had projects, that they could keep working, and keep supporting their families in the middle of all that uncertainty.

Since that moment, we have grown from 12 full-time team members to nearly 100. Looking back, I realize it was never just about business. It was about people, responsibility, and faith in each other.

Today marks the start of the fifth (!) year of this pain.

This photo was taken in Zaporizhzhia, my hometown, in my friend’s house, where thirteen of us lived during the second week of the war. It is the only photo I took in that first month.

I have never posted anything about the war here before. But now, this photo feels symbolic to me.

No matter how dark it gets, I believe in the light ahead.
